Since i bought my Optimus One i have been looking for a good car holder. I really hate the suction mounts for the windscreen because they are pretty far away and can be destracting, so the LG SCS-320 accessory was useless to me. Plus i did not find it in stock in any shops in my country.
I searched for some universal mobile phone holders but all i could find were some bad made in china models.
A good friend of mine is the Brodit importer in my country. I had already got the dash mount for my 2008 Opel Astra H. Unfortunately, Brodit don't make a holder for this type of phone, probably because LG already has one, so, temporarily, i was using a Nokia ajustable holder, but that wasn't really what i wanted.
Today i went to his shop and he suggested i look through his stock in search of a mobile phone holder that fits. After 10 minutes i found it. It was a padded holder (very nice because the phone doesn't get scratched) for and old iPhone 2G. It fits perfectly. The product code is 875168 if anybody is intrested.
Pics below:
So, any iphone 2g holder is ok?
Well the Brodit one fits perfectly. Cant guarantee for the others. Its better if u can test it before you buy it.
Do you think a car holder like this would work for the P500? http://www.emag.ro/accesorii-telefo...o-universal-hama-pentru-telefon-mobil--p17658
Don't mind the language though
Of course it will work, it's universal. I wanted something with a bit more quality though.
Nici mie nu imi place limba aia
I got LG's car holder and car charger with my Optimus One when i bought it. It came in same retail package. I can give you exact model. Its SCS-320 theres pic too.
*edit sorry. Just wokeup so i haven't read your post good and missed part about what kinda car holder you are looking for.
Well i already have a car holder (the one in the pics above), just wanted to share it because i thought it may help some people
yeah I like your design better pejte opposed to the one that sticks into the window
It's not my design, they are made by Brodit. I have just tested out a few holders and found one that fit, because they dont make a dedicated holder for this phone.
Sorry for the offtopic: what's the name of that clock widget?
nice idea! only bad thing is you have to screw into the dash...
You don't have to screw anything into the dash. That's the thing with the Brodit products. Go to their website and see the short presentaton clip.
great idea
very nice maybe i will try it.
in what rom are you useing?
Soo Good i have one in my car.
I bought one from walmart I think, hooks up in the car vent, horizontal or vertical, I leave it in horizontal mode for navigation (widescreen). I hook up my phone with my car stereo, and when the call comes in they get routed through car speakers and the mic picks up my voice perfectly fine. Pretty awesome.

I've used a similar car mount, but replaced it now with an X-Grip from Type-S.
I'd post a link or picture but I can't yet, just google search for "x-grip type-s"
I't great because you can adjust the angle of your screen in any way, and it works with the phone in a vertical or horizontal position
Just saw some nice car holders for all the phones on lootspot.com... although it doesnot have international shipping
Wow, it seems very nice. Thanks for sharing.

+1 . I want that
The idea seems really good. Where does your friend have the store located?
Has anyone bought this?

After using a similar dock for my Nexus One, I think I'm hooked to them. mainly because I can use the phone as a desk clock when I sleep and it's also easier to debug/run apps from Eclipse and not pick up the phone to use them every time.
All I'm concerned about it that because there's no reinforcement at the front, it might be a lot of stress on the mirco-usb port. Any thoughts?
I would rather buy this cradle from Kidgi
http://kidigi.com/product_lv2.php?pid=1356
Looks geat and I know quality is good. Already own acouple of dock from them for a Defy and HD2. Pitty no pogo pins though. I sent Kidigi an email asking about futre docks usng tem and their prompt reply wasthat they are looking into it.
Those both look really nice for portrait docks... And I seriously can't decide if I'd prefer a portrait or landscape...
If I go for landscape, I think the best, although definitely not cheapest, solution would be to stick the official battery charger and cradle together with plastic velcro so that I'd have them together all the time, then when I go on a trip and need a second battery and stand, I'd just disconnect them and take that part.
...oei I overcomplicate things, haha.

I need portrait since I'll then probably be using it to test out apps without picking up the phone. A landscape dock would defeat the purpose

Thanks!

Verizon makes a desktop cradle with HDMI output
A store associate showed me the picture of it last month when I was purchasing a case for mine.
They said it should be available around launch time of the device.
I just looked on Verizon's website and didn't see anything

I have moved from my Arc S to the Galaxy S2 after the OH wanted my Arc....Not a bad swap!
Anyway, one think I didnt like on the Arc was the USB connection on the side of the phone, and I dont like landscape docking, so I am pleased that vertical docking is present on the Galaxy.
Whilst waiting for my dock to be delivered (Kidigi)...and because it is a very slow day at work, I decided to fashion my own dock using cups!
Serious question though - has anyone seen any good white docks? the kidigi in black is for bedside, but for work I would like a white one.
Anyway, I was pleased with my DIY dock so thought I would post pics.
2 Polysterene cups
Blu-Tac
Scissors
Micro USB lead
Got the Kidigi dock myself, it's nice. How about painting one white?

Possibly....but you can probably tell me more about the finish....gloss I would struggle without a very good primer.
After using the dock for a day I really like it. It works....I might just keep it!

Only the front is glossy, the rest is matte. At least on the one without HDMI, which I have. I would assume that a round of sand paper would give you the base you need to make paint stick.

Considering getting one of these when they are released... I just wanted to ask if anyone has read about the wattage? If it works as a decent speaker I'd be more than tempted. If it's a measley 2.5W pile of nothing I might not bother...
i dont think the speaker will be anything good, more about just puttng the phone on a dock, but i do think its overpriced for what it is, but i love the idea of it.
I just think perhaps the wattage could be the decider... if it's good it'll be reasonable value. I suspect it might not be though
I think its more "gentle" to put the phone on a cradle like this then fiddle in the plug every night isnt it?!
Be warned that if you want to use a case on the phone and still dock it, the ONLY hard case that seems to let the "pins" of the dock reach the back of the phone is the HTC HC C704 which stupidly doesn't have a clear version like the HTC HC C700. The C700 is missing the holes!! Very odd design choice by HTC
Poor thing! And the c704 don`t seems to protect the ring around the lense of the cam.
You can't protect the ring on the camera with the docking cases because the dock has a groove that holds the camera, and the extra protection would make it sit in the dock less securely(because it can't sit flush to the dock). I believe that is why they differentiated the cases.

But there is a white and a grey version to match each colour of the phone.
For me, the dock is tempting for work to keep it charged and sync my outlook calendar.
Is anybody interested in cheaper version with only pogo-pin charging? It seems that pogo connectors are availiable from chinese producers, we just need to design the case and electronics I would throw in my 20 Euro for a good designed product.
Let me know if you are interested in kickstarted project.

I'm interested. I only want charging really, not bothered about a crappy speaker
Si
love the idea!
make it a clean design, and my money is yours
maybe a hdmi connector too? <- would pay more for that maybe as special version?
The main thing putting me off about this dock is the angle at which the device will sit, as far as I'm concerned it's far too shallow.
I agree with my Rotherham friend. I'm not interested in it doing anything fancy then
Charge the device
Make it enter dock mode
Look pretty
Si
I like it, I might get one for work, so I can clearly see my phone screen when I'm at work.
I'm guessing if the phones in the cradle then Sense 4.0 will go landscape?
I would buy a cheap dock for charging.... hdmi sounds good but I guess the cost will slowly creep up....

a link please ..?
All docks that are available now use micro USB not the pogo pins! I thought about starting a project but I'm lacking electronics skills... A friend of mine can model the product in CAD and I could find a way to print a prototype in 3D but first pogo pin charging needs to be reverse engineered and tested. I think HTC may have added some kind of accessory verification...
Is there anyone who've bought this cradle already?? The want to buy one, if the connection between the dock and telephone is good. So if there is anyone who've bought it could you give a review??

Hey guys,
Today I finally received my Desktop Dock from Amazon after waiting for it since I bought my One X in April.
I made a short unboxing / review / first impressions video and wanted to share it with you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELsXu7IQomo
I know, that I didn't speak much about the actual dock, as I basically just received it and I have to play a little more with it before giving a final statement. So far I am quite happy though. Please give me some feedback, as it is my first ever video review
You enjoy while we ATT One X users look at you with envy -_-
Appreciate the info even though it is for the international one x but it really should be in the accessories sub forum

Oh sorry, I just realized that I posted it in the wrong One X forum - I guess it was too late last night
Maybe a moderator can move it to the appropriate forum?
my cable that came with it literally peeled apart at the connection to the dock. Did you have this issue?
My cable is fine, don't have any problems (yet)
Moved to correct forum
Cheers mate!
Looks good, thinking of picking up a dock...

I've seen this dock a few times now and always thought the angle it held the phone was quite low. When sat on your desk does it present the phone at a usable angle?
is there a black version of the dock? cause a black hox doesn't looks very good on a withe dock
In my opinion, the angle is alright. On the desk it looks great and I can easily read everything.
I tried to make a photo to show the angle a bit better:
@ matt95: I think it's only available in white, not sure if they will release a black one later.
