Best inc battery saver kernel? - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

running liquidmetal on inc. 2.2, acer ui. What's the best battery saving kernel? I used to use lous on virtuous but can't since his kernels are based on sense. Help is greatly appreciated

incredibleK's #18 has been the best AOSP kernel I have ever ever used, bar none.
Does the liquid metal ROM use AOSP kernels?

The best battery life I have gotten so far was with Savaged-Zen

I was using CM7 RC1 though, But he has a Froyo kernel also that you can use.

Kernels for CM7 are a different animal. Why? CM7 is a gingerbread-based ROM.
As such, you gotta run a gingerbread kernel with a gingerbread ROM.
IDK anything or have opinion/recommendation about gingerbread kernels.

Personal experience thus far with best battery saving kernels for Myn's RLS 3.

So far I have tried a few different kernels
-Netarchy 4.2 cfs More agressive
-Baked kernel #6
-HTC Stock kernel #10
-Ziggy 11/5
I have seen relatively even battery life with all 4 to be quite honest, the stock kernel doesn't seem to sleep as well as the others. With any of the others I can leave the phone sit with the screen off for a couple of hours and the battery percentage will not move. With the stock kernel it seems to drop about 5-6% every 2 hours or so. HOWEVER, that is pretty applicable to when the phone is on as well. My favorite kernel performance wise so far has been Baked #6. Very smooth transitions and very stable with no issues of force closing or lag.
*I used SetCPU no overclocking with a screen off profile set up for all of these besides Ziggys. Reason being is that he has a script built into the kernel that will conflict with SetCPU if not disabled and I did not feel like doing that.
Enable always on mobile data: OFF
Background Sync: OFF
I have Watchdog installed and that's it.
Favorite so far: Baked 6 and HTC stock
I had good luck with kings#9. But my phone really dislikes kernels. Ziggs was fast but lagged hard in angry birds. Nach I had a ton of force closes. For now ill stick with htc#10. With moderate use ill see a 60% drop after my 10hr work day

Try Synergy or MikG v1.01. Both of those roms are solid in my experience, and everything is 100% working. I have no issues with either of them.
And to answer the OP's question, I'm currently on deck 1.2v, but will be flashing to 6/6 Synergy build here in a few. I can never decide between AOSP and sense. I love them both. I nandroid back and forth between synergy, mikg, deck, and salvage mod CONSTANTLY. There is seriously something majorly wrong with me. I do not have the ability to stay on a rom for more than a day at a time. I wish they all weren't updated so often, hahaha (that's crazy to say..) maybe then I wouldn't be so tempted to flash the next updated and better version. Damnit, I'm hopeless.

Kushdeck has ruined me with his rom. I haven't flashed anything in about a month. I tried the new sense roms, for a day, and missed my deck rom so I'm right back. As soon as I get that 3d and cm or deck has fine tuned cm, I'm gone from sense again.

Help finding a good Sense 3.0 rom

I was using Synergy for months got bored with it worked fine. Now im using Team Knocturnals Shooter rom looks cool but has to many forecloses. Whats a good stable rom that I can use that is up to date.
Are you doing full wipes to flash shooter and are you restoring data? Because you shouldn't be getting FCs on it

i just started using radiance hd 2.0..its a sense 3.5 rom with a chopsuey kernel and ive had nothing but good so far awesome battery life but only thing i noticed that dont work is the htc skins dont load up
What about Synergy with the Warm Theme? I've noticed that putting that theme on the rom really transforms it.
And then using UOT's Kitchen to put in the honeycomb battery icon and it's golden.
Im using Team Nocturnals Shooter ROM as well. Has been flawless for me. Make sure you did a full wipe of everything except your SD card at least twice and maybe 3 times to be sure. Also what recovery are you using. In my experience I have noticed Amon does a better job than CWM
i havent used that rom yet...but try it and see, a lot of it depends on what u prefer, the rom i have works like a gem! and i would use amon RA over cwm,,ive heard cwm has bugs when it comes to wiping stuff( doesnt always wipe even when says complete) which will cause lags and bugs with the rom u have if not fully wiped

CM7 vs People's Rom 2.2

I am currently on The People's ROM 2.2 and am thinking about switching to CM7. I have tried CleanGB and wasn't a fan but I really thought SRF 1.2 and Midnight ROM were great. So far the performance with the people's rom 2.2 is alright but I was wondering if the battery life and stability were better with CM7. What are the pro's and con's for peoples rom vs cm7? Thanks for your help.

As far as speed, battery life, and stability, CM7 is the way to go. It's amazing how quick everything can be. If Android 4.0 wasn't as wonderful as it was than I would still be on CM7. It leaves TouchWiz in the dust.
If you want added functionality, I would look into CM9 and/or AOKP. Android 4.0 adds some great features that you should experience.
Also, we try and discourage these kinds of threads.
They are way different, so really the only way to know how you're going to like one over the other is to try them both out... and that is why we discourage these threads... it really all comes down to personal preference... if you like more of a stock android feel, go with an aosp rom (cm7, cm9, aokp, miui)... if you like touch wiz, stick with touch wiz...
Apples and Oranges man. One is Touchwiz will all those Samsung apps and the other is AOSP which means just what you can get from the Play store and Gapps download.

Stable ICS ROM

Whats the fatest and most stable ICS which has a great battery life. Tried JB roms and I think there battery life is ok not good for day to day use in my view .
Tersus Status is really good. Battery lasts crazy long and runs smooth as hell. Isn't laggy like some ics roms can be.

Re-Calk 0.2.1 seems to be a good replacement for the old Blazer Rom 0.1.5 since he stopped updating.
I suggest running the Agat 6.2 kernel with the Re-Calk, seems to be a nice combo. If you want the data speeds though, do Agat's repacked kernels.
I usually to go back to Re-calk/Blazer Rom all the time after flashing every other rom under the sun just to test drive, but like every one else said, depends on your phone, depends how you tweak your settings, and it has been discussed before.

:good: Agreed. I've tested a quite few roms and kernels since being on JB and this is the current combo I've settled on (Re-Calked 0.2.1 with Agat kernel). You'll be glad to know it's also MHL HDMI out compatible as well...
Tersus Status- It is like the calk's gb for ics.! Way to go _dan!
