flashed with a stock rom which removed all the three crap and left me with a lovely clean phone, and the bonus of removing everything i did prior to flashing (remove root, visionary+, clockworkmod) which is what i wanted. though i do have the option to re-root, etc if needed

You will need eng s-off to flash any radio. There are radio flashing guides in xda. Don't know about latest, but use stock 1.32 only. If you go to 1.72 oat, you loose root. And have to downgrade guide to get root again
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App

Hey all. I just got my G2. It is as sweet as I thought it would be.
I have been researching how to root and stuff, I have all that info. I just want to know if I have the latest stock version of the OS from HTC/T-Mobile, and if not, should I upgrade and then try to root? Or would it be easier to try and root the older FW if I have it?
Anyway, can anyone let me know if I have the latest FW? Here is the phone's info:
Android 2.2
Baseband: 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M
Kernel: 2.6.32.17-g9ab3677

Build number: 1.2.531.8 CL277427
thanks in advance.
doesn't matter for G2 users.. pre-ota and post-ota are rooted the same way.
Hoping someone can help.
I'm have a problem where when I open the camera application, everything works okay. When I exit the application and go back to it, an error message comes up telling me it can not load. It then goes back to the main screen and my phone reboots. This happens with Redux and CM.
With LeeDroid, when I enter the camera application my phone crashes and restarts.
Anyone got any suggestions how I can fix this?
Many thanks XDA users!

Hello XDA,
I have a 1 year old AT&T Captivate Glide (Unrooted):
Model Number: SGH-I927
Android Version: 4.0.4
Baseband Version: I927UCLJ3
Kernel Version: 3.1.10-I927UCLJ3-CL970642 [email protected] #3 SMP PREEMPT Thu Oct 11 14:00:57 KST 2012

It would be very helpful if somebody told me the difference between Rooting and Unlocking the phone.
Can you please also tell me the most reliable way to root it and the most stable kernel and ROM out there for this phone?
Thanks in advance.

I hope you have found your answer by now with a search. If not...
UNLOCKING allows you to take a GSM (SIM card) phone to any carrier
ROOTING allows you SuperUser (full administrative) access to your devices Android OS
You'll find that this phone is rather easy to root, let me know if you still need some help.
Hello,
I need help doing a fresh install on my android phone. It is a Chinese Android phone called Mega Droid purchased from chinavasion.com. As I do with computers I have installed stuff, removed stuff, gained root access and generally made a bit of a mess of my phone. I feel I need to do a complete re-install of the Android image. Herein lies the problem. I have no idea what Rom I could install with no issues both stock or custom? My phones details are:
Model Number: 11_gq2000s_fwvga
Android version: 4.2.1
Baseband version: MOLY.WR8.W1248.MD.WG.MP.V6.P4,2013/05/08 18:36
Kernel version: 3.4.5 [email protected] #6 Thu Jun 13 17:41:18 CST 2013
Build number: 11gp2000s_fwvga_20130606.
