[Q] FM Radio auto-playing when connect earphone.. and cant stop - Defy General

Hello, i've been usually listening to the FM radio, but while searching for a dark widget for the music player i tried PowerAmp, and tried the earphones and I noticed that it started playing the FM radio, and the PowerAmp song at the same time.
I though this could be that the process auto starts with earphone or something, so used Task Killer and Android Assistant but there isn't anything about radio, or the normal player there...
I tried opening the music app, going to the radio and it shows like it is working, try to press the mute button and nothing happens, i try changing station and the same ...
I downloaded this app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=903103 and tried to open it while this problem was going on, it just was stuck on 'loading fm radio...'
anyone knows what this could be about? how can i stop the damn radio? I want to listen to my songs too!

This issue has been reported before. You might do a search of Moto forums.

Right, I didn't remember about the moto forums, I found the topic:

Only solution I found is to turn off phone and reboot.

[Q] Music Notification Controls

Hi
For the music controls in the notification bar, when I press pause the music controls in notification bar disappears
But when they demonstrated ICS & GN in LeWeb, the notification didn't go after he pause the music, you can see it here at about 07:00
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=t02iJn5Ypio#t=431s
Is anyone have the same thing?
Is it a problem that I have? Or the music version app the guys got in conference was the next update?
I'm using Music 4.0.9

Guys did you notice that headphone jack is still plugged in ?
I've noticed that controls disappear when I press pause, however this doesn't happen with headphones plugged in

Mine works with or without the headphones.

Same here...its well annoying.
Its fixed! its working for me now
I don't know if that's actually the fix, but what I did is that,
I removed the music widget, then played a song, After that I skipped to the next song using notification bar controls, then pressed pause, and it stayed there
I know it doesn't make any sense , but its working really fine now!
Can anyone try?

I guess its a glitch too, but once its gone you will never see it again

If someone is still having this problem, try just to clear the cache on the music app in the manage apps menu, it worked for me.
Solution

i had the same problem and it was really gettin on my nerves!
I recognized that after my new rom installation it was working fine for a short time but then it disappeared on and on! All your tricks and solutions did not work for me..
So the last thing i tried was to disable the app in the settings, reboot and to activate it again. And now it works the way it should be
Hope i could help you with this. it seems to be a glitch..

[Q] FM Radio prevents music player

I have noticed for a while that whenever you use the FM Radio player on the One X, the stock music player will then be "broken"
What I mean by broken is that whenever you try to play a song after the FM Radio has been played, it will simply not play. In most cases the timer will continue to go, as if it is playing, but no sound will come out.
As you would know, the FM Radio player only works, once viable headphones have been inserted. I have seen that if on the homescreen you have the FM Radio widget, it will automatically turn on if you insert headphones and navigate to the homescreen page it is on. This is when the problems start.
Anyone know a fix to this problem?

[Q] Music stops when app switching.

I've asked this question before but there were no replies.... I hope this time I'll get some pointers and re-phrase my question better.
I'm using the GSM Galaxy Nexus 4.1.1
Sometimes my music stops playing when switching apps or pressing the home button to return to the home screen, it doesn't happen all the time, but very troublesome when it does. It happens usually just right after unlocking the phone from sleep. I'm using the stock music player
I've noticed that this issued happened to Android phones as well, I tried to update the stock music app, and switched kernels. I don't know what else I can do. I don't recall encountering this problem back in 4.0.4.
Any help would be appreciated

Give us a bit more info:
1. What music app are you using? If it's an app that can both play local media files and stream, which are you doing?
2. Are you playing your music through headphones, the internal speaker, or Bluetooth?
3. If headphones, have you tried other headphones? If Bluetooth, how far away are the devices?
4. Which ROM and Kernel are you using?

I said I'm using the stock music player, Play Music.
I'm playing music through headphones.
I am sure that this problem is not because of the headphones
I'm using the stock 4.1.1 ROM JRO03C. This problem happend on both the stock kernel and Franco Milestone 5
Are you running any other memory hungry apps? Sounds like your music player is getting killed because the memory is needed for something else.
I've had this happen in two instances, so hopefully my personal experience will help you.
The first time, it ended up being a faulty cord in my Nokia Purity HD headphones, I bought a new cord and that fixed my issues.
The second time it was because I was attempting to play music, that I had downloaded in Spotify, but since I was in a crappy coverage area, it would pause the music every time I lost a data connection, even though the music was stored locally. Switching Spotify to offline mode fixed it, so you might try switching to offline only mode in Play Music.
Even if you don't think it's your headphones (for example, you tried them on a PC and they worked), you have to remember that phones have many more contacts inside the headphone jack, used for the media controls in headsets (headphones with buttons and mics), so if there is a short in your headphones that makes the phone think you're pressing the "Play/Pause" button, it wouldn't show in your PC, because most if not all PCs lack this functionality.

[Q] Please Help me guys!!

Hi!, I had a serious nerve racking problem with Samsung Galaxy W since I flashed it with another official stock ROM in which I got much more languages including the french one. But the problem is that when the earphone is plugged in to listen to my music, it starts switching the soundtrack I am playing to another one that I wasn't playing, it even stops playing :'( . And it's the same **** everytime I want to play my music from the default music player or the one installed like Poweramp. So please help me to fix this!. Even when I wanna listen to my FM radio it shuts down by itself and I could hear some weird beeps from my earphone. The Autostarts apps won't solve at all my problem! :'(

I am not sure about the default music player, but poweramp has a feature like the one you described. When you plug in the headphone, it resumes playing. (An autostart musicplayer feature). Check the settings under poweramp player and hopefully you will see that option somewhere. I am not using poweramp so I can't tell you where exactly that option would be.
The other issues you desribe, I don't know. It may have something to do with the conflict between poweramp and FM radio... Maybe. I am not sure. See what happens when you disable the option I described above.
The stock rom don't have a FM radio app, so use Spirit FM, search the apk and download it.
And this problem happens with me too, but only sometimes. When I'm using a Bluetooth headset, no problems, but when I use a normal earphone, some lags occur.

Okay thanks for your help but now the problem is solved after disabling the "media button pressed" event's from the pre installed music player and many other apps running on your Android's system. It requires root access to be allowed "Autostarts.apk". Anybody else having the issue could use this app to fix it!

My OP3 keeps opening the music player in the notification without reasons(OOS 3.2.7)

Hi,
I have my OP3 for 2 weeks, but there is something strange, the phone is opening the music player in the notification without reasons, sometimes when I'm scrolling across an app or while I lock the phone. At least 2/3 times per days !
But it doesn't launch the music, it just open the music player in the notification.
I'm using full STOCK phone, I disabled the next/previous music gestures, didn't changed anything !
If someone could help me for that it would be nice ! Is it a know software issue ? Maybe I would have a hardware issue ?
Thanks !
This won't be much help but sometimes PowerAmp did that too on CM13 for absolutely no reason, with BT off, so it wouldn't have connected to the car stereo. Wish I could figure out why

Could it be hardware related ?
I have been having the same problem for a long time and I have always been on OxygenOS(currently running the Open Beta 7). I always thought it was a problem with Saavn but I didn't look for an alternative or a solution since I had paid for its pro service. This now seems to be a general problem...

Edit: Never mind, somehow I missed that you already tried this, sorry.
Disable the "Music control" from Settings->Gestures and see if that helps. I had the music player opening a couple of times when leaving locked phone on the table, I guess my fingers touched the screen and phone thought I was drawing the music control gestures

Still happning on the Beta 7 ?
How is it possible ? It's not software solvable ?
Because if it's a hardware issue that I couldn't fix then I would like to know it and maybe push back the phone before the end of my 15 days return.
I had a similar issue where Google music would start by itself, even with gestures disabled. I uninstalled gm updates, cleared all cache, reinstalled gm. So far so good. However, just today another perhaps unrelated problem: music is routed through external speakers while listening over the same wired headphones. I made sure plugged in all the way, it only worked by removing and reinserting them.

its not a hardware issue. Actually its a gesture issue. Disabled it from the gesture menu. Problem solved for me

I already disabled gestures, didn't changed anything. This morning when I woke up the music player was again in the notification, whereas I didn't touched the phone during all the night. And this happen even when I'm using the phone.

Well, this seems to be a GM issue. I have Spotify on the phone and it's only launch the stock music player.
