Backup User Accounts? - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was curious if there is a way to backup your user accounts so I don't have to setup my work email and my other email address everytime I flash a new rom...

Have you tried backing up the mail app itself on titanium? That workes for m for the stock mail app for build 21.

[Q] Backup E-Mail Settings

Hi all,
Has anyone found a solution yet to fully backup your current email settings on the desire so can easily be restored when update or flash a new rom.
I use Backup Pro but there are no options to backup email settings
regards
Titanium backup has the option to backup email accounts, I haven't used it so I don't know if it will fit your needs but just try it out.
cheers will give it a try - it's the only thing that's not backed up on my phone and with half-a-dozen setup it's a pain to redo them everytime i update

[Q] SMS and Contacts migration

Welcome,
I've like to ask you which method is the best to backup/migrate my contacts and sms box before changing rom? My goal is to backup phonebook (which is connected to FB) and sms box before running ROM MANAGER and updating from Revolution to Cyanogen ROM. After updating soft I'd like to restore inbox and contacts into new rom. I've tried backing up data and restoring while flashing but after restoring rom goes back into Revolution. Any ideas for most convenient way to achive my goal?
Your contacts should automatically be synced to your Google Account... check this in your Gmail account (Click "Contacts" on the left).
For SMS i use an App called GOSMS for my messaging and it also has a backup feature in it. It also has the advantage of being a lot better than the stock messaging app.
This solution worked for me great! I didn't also noticed earlier export to sd functionality in my DHD contacts.
Thanks!
Cheers, after reading this I have just noticed export to SD card option in contacts.
This is just what I was looking for.
That was a good find. I also had not noticied this. Nice way to keep backups. I will check the gosms thing later.
Maybe you can try mybackup (pro) from market. It works good for me all the time and you can also backup and restore your system settings, apps, even with data if necessary.
I use SMS Backup & Restore. It is easy to use and you can do regulary Backups

Thank you! You have given me an idea and I found free app on the marketplace: SMS Backup Android. Back up is a sore point when it is too late.

[Q] How to Backup Gmail accounts with Titanium Backup

Has anyone been able to successfully backup gmail accounts and restore them using Titanium Backup? I have multiple accounts (work and personal) and it would be nice to be able to restore all of them without having to reenter them manually. I have tried backing up Gmail 2.3.4 and Accounts and Sync Settings 2.3.4 and upon restoring either of them my accounts are not restored....any ideas? Any help is greatly appreciated.

dont think any software does backups on user name and password for gmail unless its a nandroid. You have to find the right gapps that will restore your other stuff. Look around and check since its a nice feature to just put in your info and have all your apps and settings return. Entering your own account information is also like a security issue with google. Dont think your going to see that function with any 3rd party app... Good thought tho I guess
Thanks for the quick response. Ya, the version of GAPPS I have works great I was just hoping to have something like this. I know when I was on Windows mobile, someone wrote a program (SASHIMI) that we were able to input our email, wifi, etc accounts to be inputed when we ran the program...guess I was kinda hoping to have something to similar with Android....guess thats the downside of being a flash-aholic....lol...thanks again for your response.
The ability to backup Gmail, especially if one has several Gmail accounts, with Titanium would be very helpful in the restoration process and repair when then get corrupted.

How to backup email account settings?

Everytime I do a full wipe I have to reset my account info in the stock email client.
Does anyone know how to do this with titanium backup or another method?

Nope, tried this this morging. It tried to restore my IMAP emails, but NOT the account settings
i used default setting, is this a custom option somewhere?
So far i have not been able to get TiBU to restore my email account settings either. By that I mean logins, ports, servers, addresses. Where is this data really saved? it is not in Email Data.
Try k9 for mails is very good and safe. It has backup for everything except passwords also u can backup it with titanium and have the passwords too.

this works on my galaxy note
It took a bit of time but I have it figured out for Titanium Pro on a Galaxy Note with a rooted android 4.1.2 rom. The steps I need to follow to succeed are:
restore the data for the stock Email 4.0 app and the Titianium Accounts (first item in backup list)
restart the phone right after the restore - if I open email the settings restore is lost
enable email account sync for each email account in Settings->Accounts->Email - it gets turned off during the restore
start email and voilĂ  it's all there

advice-in restoring email accounts after rom flash

Can you guys share your expertise on how you restore all your email settings after flashing a new rom?
I have become a flashaholic and its a pain re-entering details of my 6 or 7 email accounts every time i flash a new rom.
I use TB (free) to restore my apps.
thanks in advance.
I searched for this by myself just today!
According the changelog of TB ( http://www.titaniumtrack.com/changelog/titanium-backup/5-5-2-1 ) it can backup accounts now on JellyBean. I saw this option in TB (paid version) but haven't tried to restore it for now. Maybe you will also have to backup the data of your mail App.
Anyone can share their idea of how they are restoring accounts??
I don't want to use TB as I hear it causes problems when restoring settings.
