icemank121 got a notification from LG that the source code for the Optimus V has been released. Another optimus for the devs to go crazy on!
LG releases source code for Optimus V from Virgin Mobile
Go here: http://www.lg.com/global/support/opensource/opensource.jsp
Select Mobile Phones from the drop down menu and type in LGVM670, which is the model number for the LG Optimus V from Virgin Mobile.
Via icemank121 at androidcentral, who requested the source from LG.

Hellow Optimus G enthusiasts! I'm eager to ditch my ugly Galaxy S 3 and get my hands on an Optimus G, Even though I was a little put off LG as i went through four 4X HD's due to dead pixels and dust under the glass!
Anyway, One problem. As most of you know, Its not available in the UK or in Europe. So...
I decided emailed LG yesterday to ask about UK availability and when the Optimus G was going to be released, this was my initial email...

I then proceeded to call customer services and ask about it again in hope that I'd be given more info/hints. The woman told me on the phone that there seems to be no details or plans of it ever being released in the UK and explained that normally a device due to be launched usually shows up on their systems a couple of months before hand.
Has anyone else in the UK or europe spoken to LG and had any infomation that conflicts with the above?
Any infomation at all?

That's bad news.
I was also thinking to get a Optimus G.
If they release the phone to the European market it will probably be in January 2013.
You guys always could get an USA Optimus G but it needs to be the ATT version. Any other won't work and TMobile USA version will only get Edge in Europe. Also be aware that the US Smartphones are all simlocked and need to be unlocked first.

Yeah I read that it's coming out the 23th "Today" in Australia. I really hope that US Cellular is next..
And by next, I mean next week or something lol I don't want to wait a whole month
But I guess I learned my lesson with US Cellular. there are not a lot of developers who are interested in creating custom roms for US Cellular devices.

Hi,
I've the LG Venture X phone. While it is listed to have NFC on many different websites (including AT&T, gsmarena etc..) The phone doesn't seem to have it after all. I see nothing in the settings and some NFC related apps cannot be installed and those that I can, as soon as I open the app it states that the phone doesn't support NFC.
It is important to note that the phone has the snapdragon 435 and it does support NFC for sure.
Is there someway to enable it after all?

Sadly, it looks like neither or "X Venture" models is equiped with NFC. Based on offical LG site info (search x venture on lg.com) there are 4 models

In the at&t website it says that their model has NFC (I cannot post an outside link at this point, sorry ) . And I'm sure that true as in several video reviews I've seen the NFC icon was present on the status bat. I, however, own the Unlocked version... I more than sure this is a software issue. Annoying.
