Rooting HTC Evo

I just got the HTC Evo today and I am trying to the most recent thread about rooting it. I am sorry for asking but this is the first time I use this site. Can someone post the link please?

You need to go to the EVO Sub-Forum. Here is a link:

There, you will see additional sub-forums. The specific one you are looking for is the 3rd one down called EVO Android Development. In there is everything you need to know. There are many threads about how to root the phone and much much more.
If you feel overwhelmed and need to ask a question you are better off asking it in the Q&A sub-forum of the EVO section. But, there is a sticky in the Development thread called "Useful Threads" which will likely provide more clarity. Here is a link to that:

the new unrevoked3 doesn't work with the new phones yet unless they released a newer version other than 3.22

Hi all, I'm going to purchase a Droid Incredible Two soon and i want to unlock it for T-mobile. I have done my reading, and have come upon a site named htcimeiunlock.com, can anyone confirm that this site is legit, and has worked RECENTLY? if not, can someone provide me with a working link? Thanks!

dude there is plenty of threads here that explain how to do it and where to go to get the info. just search a little. none will be farther back than the front page of threads

yes i know and i have come upon some of these threads, but I would just like to see and be reassured that htcimeiunlock.com does work as of right now, instead of sorting through pages and pages of threads only to obtain answers that vary /:

For an exact post just go back to the general section and click on the "Noobs corner" thread. it will have a bunch of stuff you wont need, i can only assume, about flashing and ruu's and such but it will link you to the appropriate threads too root also. its the first or second thread in the section

i searched the thread with the world unlock and auctually only found one post, which wasn't very helpful /: anyone out there?

Advice on choosing a bare bones ROM

I'm setting up a DInc2 for my technically challenged mother. I'd like to install a ROM that is easy to understand and straight forward. But my biggest concern is that the ROM be extremely de-bloated and very stable. I would appreciate recommendations as to which custom ROMs would be best suited given these parameters.

We would all appreciate a post in the right section. How come no one reads the rules when they sign up?? Maybe I'm weird, but I thought that was just a common thing.
To answer your question, go with cm7. Its super light weight, and can't really go wrong with it.

Should this rather have been posted in the General section? Since this involves custom ROMs I figured this was the place, but I'll be glad to abandon this and ask in the General section if that is appropriate.

This section is for *development*. This probably should have gone in Q&A, since you're asking a question. There's also 400 of these posts already. Please don't make another thread though because this one will likely get moved.

Run skyraider Zeus 1.3 or andybonestock.
Download titanium.
Remove all unwanted apps.
I would recommend sense roms since the phone was made for it. Also the camera works better on sense. I personally h8 sense, but if your goal is to avoid hearing complaints, go sense & debloat manually.
