The zip that you download IS NOT flashable, so you would have to use a zip eztracting program to unzip it. When you unzip it, it has three folders in it (ringers, notifications, and alarms). Then move the files (all, or just the ones you want) in each of those folders into the folders with the same name your have listed on you sd card.
There are a few good free Zip programs on the net if you don't already have/use one. Most are free "trials", but you can still use them to do this!!

Hey, is there any way of preventing pics/videos in a certain folder showing up in the gallery?

Just put a .nomedia file in the folder where you have the pics and videos you want to hide.
You might already have this file in your sdcard (some ebook reader or other app that has pics not show in the gallery).
If not, just create an empty text file and rename it.

Doesnt work for me... Stil shows the folder.
It definitely works. Either your media files didn't update yet or you don't have a correct nomedia file...

Can confirm. This does work. Try restarting phone.
Tried it with a .nomedia file already but it didn't work. Gonna see if it needs to update though.
Rename the folder to .folder, the whole folder becomes in invisible.
Your other option is to install estrongs security thingy, which allows you lock down apps totally

I found the best way is to create a zip file and store them in that as it cannot see through a zip file. Has always worked for me, hope that helps

Can someone just rename this thread to 'how hide porn and pics of the bird your cheating with'
By the way. The ext partition is a good place to put 'sensitive' material. Gallery wont look there and it wont show up when plugged into a windows PC.
Hi everyone,
I am completely new to modding/theming/customizing my Evo in any way. I was taking a look at the post your screens thread and a lot of them look really cool, I just don't know where to even begin to customize my own evo. It's overwhelming seeing how customizable it is.
Right now I'm running Myns RLS3 with Launcherpro Plus and I have just downloaded a HD icon pack I found that I liked and put it on the root of my SD card. When I go to change it in Launcherpro, it takes me to my albums but I can't find the icons anywhere.
Can anyone help me out here or provide me with some kind of tutorial?? Thanks!
Here is an easy way. When you put them on your sd card create a file for them so it will be easier to find them. That's what I had to do.

Yeah, but it automatically takes me into my albumbs when I choose to apply a custom icon. It doesn't even give me the option to explore the root of my SD card. How would I go about fixing this?

Make sure you unzip the icon pack first. Use es file explorer to unzip the icon pack then you can find them.

Yup, just make a folder, and put it in your pictures folder. (Where camera shots are stored.)

The folder inside of the rar needs to be placed on the root of your sd card. not the rar.
It goes as /.madden10

yep. Make sure to unzip the rar as .madden10 so it creates a folder called .madden10
then put the folder on the sd card root.
Run the game.
is this the demo version or a full copy?

the animations might be easy to fix by editing the screen size file in .madden10 to our screen size like 450x800 or somethin? i know right now its set at the droid 1's ratio which is like 480x854, but i cant find a file for the field .png or uniform .png for the players.. hmm
Black field
I have a black field and ghost players. Is there an updated version?

What is the best way to lets say, extract a notification or ringtone folder from a zipped rom and transfer them to my current running rom? So it replaces the current one. I know you can move one at the time, but it takes forever.
Thanks in advance

If you have knowledge of adb create a ringtones folder which hold the ringtones you wanna add.
Adb push ringtones /system/media/audio/ringtones
This should merge them in.
Using a file explorer you can likely use a similar method. Create a folder named ringtones. Move it with root to system/media/audio. This should merge as well. Make sure to backup your stock ones or at least have them handy from another rom just in case.

Cool thanks. I have knowledge of abd. It seemed like when I did it last time all it did was add the whole folder inside the existing one, without actually replacing it...

Right. You might have pushed it to syststem/media/audio like pushing an app to system/app.
Try pushing it to the folder specifically system/media/audio/ringtones. Should make the difference.

Hi every, I've downloaded several ringtones using Zedge application as yours should notice in the img1.png attached. I'm trying to change the default tone using one of this and can't see them. Where I should place them in the internal storage (see img2.png)?

Wrong section. Your post is supposed to be in "Q & A" section.
You just need to create a folder "Ringtones" in the internal SD card. Then copy your ringtones to this folder.

You could also put in the system folder if you have root access. I currently have the Skyrocket so this solution might not work for you. I put my .ogg file in /system/media/audio/ and then into the proper sub directory either /alarms /notifications or /ringtones. Then rebooted my system and I could assign them properly. Actually the first suggestion worked for me as well, but I just like having all my files in the same place. So it might work or it might not... i can't say for sure. I subscribe to the nexus development because g/f's mom who has the nexus and likes slim rom a lot.

Nice I'll try your solution later because I need to install some kind of Root Explorer and I've in my PC at home as for the first solution could not work due to .mp3 extension? I'm on GNex ROM 1.9.0 with 4.1.1

Yeah I think that the .ogg will work for sure. I just used root explorer the app to find out what my other ringtones were and then converted the ringtone to that file.
You have to put your ringtones in a folder called "Ringtones". Not just in the internal SD card.

I have a few mp3's and ringtones I got from zedge as well and I couldn't see them at first - you just need to let the mediascanner find them. A reboot will force the phone's mediascanner to do so, or it'll find them on its own in a little bit.

Ringtone/mp3 files will not be available as ringtones unless they are in the ringtones folder. Rebooting the phone won't change that, at least not with the stock ROM.

One reason to NOT put custom ring tones in the /system/media/audio/ringtones folder is that if you wipe your system (to change ROM's, for example), is that the system wipe would then also wipe your custom ringtones. However, if you place them in the Ringtones folder on your sdcard, that doesn't get wiped, and you'll be able to use the ringtones right away after flashing a new ROM, and you won't have to re-copy them onto your phone.

The post before mine had already ascertained which folder to put them in, I was just adding that to force a mediascan of that folder a reboot would do the trick. Sorry for any confusion
install es file explorer on to your phone.
When you want to select a new ringtone, the phone will ask you to either select a "system tone" or "select a file" (using the file explorer)
then you just navigate to the sound file no matter what folder you stored it in (on your sd)
