Google earth not showing in market. - Desire General

Hi guys
In having a but of a problem with apps not showing on the market (or showing as incompatible on rhett web market) with my original htc desire. I'm running version 1.2.4 r1 of miui-au and I'm getting random apps show like this.
Someone mentioned it may be because google earth needs opengl 2.0 es? just a thought.
Amy ideas on how to fix this would be appreciated!

Google earth was taken down from the market months ago.

Just install markwt enabler and use it.

if you want i can upload google earth here for you

Oh. Really? well, that's odd, but google earth isn't the only one that I'm having problems with. I'm not even that fussed about earth - maps covers it quiet happily. I'll have a look tomorrow and see if I can find some more examples, but for now I'm ok thanks y'all

Looking for Tapatalk

I keep seeing in the footer of people's messages in this forum that they sent it using the xda mobile app powered by Tapatalk. Well I've spent a long time trying to find this app with no success! I know it's listed in the market but like many apps there, once you select it from the search results, it says it cannot find it. Is it restricted to people outside the UK maybe? Is there anywhere else I can download it from and is it really worth having?
Thanks for any help.
What you are looking for is the 'XDA-Developers' App in the Market.
Great, I finally have it. Thanks for your help. I don't think much of the search in the market as it didn't even find it when searching on xda!

I was looking for the same thing last night (eventually found the XDA specific version), but I did find out that the reason the full version doesn't appear is because Google haven't authorized the Desire ROM as "legitimate" yet. This means that any apps that the developers flags as copy protected won't show up, such as Tapatalk, ShapeWriter and a bunch of others.
They did the same thing with the Hero when it was first released and took them some time to fix it. Unfortunately the ball is in Google's court so there's nothing we can do but wait. :-/
That's quite frustrating but it's nice to know the reason for it anyway.

anyone got a link to tapatalk?
like the posts above say, search the market for XDA-developers.....
is that xda forum specific? is there a taptalk application that can be used with other forums?
it's not XDA specific.
For some hard to understand reason though, the generic TapaTalk is not available on the market (tried with both Desire and Liquid, hence android 2.1 and 1.6).
I solved by "finding" it from other sources, sources I obviously cannot link here
Does someone have archives of older versions of the XDA tapatalk app? I just updated to 1.3.2 (and I don't remember what version I was running previously) and it runs extremely slowly on my G1. I'd like to go back to an older version. Maybe 1.3.0, maybe older, dunno yet.
I can find the tapatalk just fine in market. It's a paid app.

i had that same problem but solved it by uninstalling google maps then installing it from the market
I installed it without any problems. If you have issues installing the 4.4.0 update, first uninstall Google Maps and then install it from the Market application.

Installed just fine for me on my Desire using the update option from the market.

yeah same here no issues but in order for places to showup in programs u need to restart.
I noticed lattitude has also made an appearance on the menu too.
I think they need to update the Places app though. By clicking on "Gas Stations", i am given results for companies that sell bottled gas, not petrol or diesel. By clicking on ATMs, i am given a recovery company 20 miles from me, not cash machines.
I had no problems installing on Froyo/Sense MCR6.
Regards,
Dave
Why I don't see the Places app?
Where to get it?
I updated the Maps to 4. 4. 0...

Turn the phone off and on again then check the menu and "Places" will be listed in with the rest of your apps.

Are you in UK? I had a similar problem. It's because the locale on the update is set to U.S.
Download morelocale2 from market and set your desire to the right country

Another thing to try is to delete the market app cache. Helped me.
Hmmm.. Thanks for the help but both suggestions have not solved the problem, still can't find itv player etc... Any more ideas?

Did you tried to access market via browser?
For example when I try to search for "google+" via market it is not appeared in list, but via browser it is appearing and on install stage told me that: "This application is incompatible with your HTC Desire" .I live in Bulgaria and it is not marked for distribution in my region. Just try to access market via browser to look what is yours situation.
All apps are being searched for using market, but i have located itv player using Google and some search terms and downloaded using mega upload. But it's definitely an issue with this phone as my colleagues find it using sensation

[Tutorial] Get Back Old Google Market Permanently

Hello Friends
I don't know if someone already posted this. But I did it myself so m posting here.
First of all to get back old market you need root access on your phone. After that an app that can control system apps like link2sd or SD maid etc. Using that app find an app named "market updater". Freeze that app. Then uninstall updates of Google Play Store (updates only). That's it , now start using old Google market
If you wants to get back to Google Play Store just unfreeze the market updater app n update the market.

I can tell you why I do it on my ROMs: speed!
The older Google Markets are objectively faster than the new. Time it and see for yourself.

Your welcome Dr. globbyglob
Before rooting my wfs when ever I open the play store and look around for any app, for many of times it shows network error, I don't know why it was happening and it also take too much time to load an app info. I have read many times on xda that old market is working good then new one so that's why I did it
