Try flashing recovery again with ROM Manager
or if you are eng s-off, you can use the fastboot command. "fastboot flash recovery xxxxxx.img"
original recovery image

pls help ..
I can't install a custom rom
Thanq in advance..
Rom manager can only install a temp recovery, I think you need to run revolutionary and at the end choose yes when it asks if you want to install recovery. Either that or use fastboot etc etc......

if they have s-off can they not just take clockworkmod recovery, rename it update.zip or and flash it hboot.? like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12188132&postcount=15
I flashed the data++ hboot from alpharev, and now i can get to bootloader screen but when i select recovery( to boot into recovery) it just flashes HTC and then returns to bootloader screen. how do i fix this?

Use Android Flasher to flash recovery. Much easier and no adb commands are needed.
Hi all,
I've S-OFF my HTC Desire with revolutionary and all is working as expected, recovery and custom rom (ICS). But I'm very interested to have a touch recovery (like 4EXT). I've tried to install by using the provided application, and all seems installed correctly, but when I tried to switch back on recovery, (vol down, then recovery in the menu), I get HTC logo during 1 sec, then back in the menu. I've reinstall a working recovery with revolutionary, but it seems that I cannot change my recovery anymore.
I've also tried to install the official Clock Mod recovery, but I get exactly the same result.
Is there a way to change the recovery image after using Revolutionary to root and S-OFF my HTC Desire?
Thanks
Olivier.
Try to flash a recovery image manually using android flasher or adb.
via xda app

You cant flash a recovery image via adb. You can only flash a recovery image via fastboot.
OP should read the adb and fastboot faq available via my signature.
Hello, I have a HTC ONE V(CDMA) running on stock Android 4.0 ICS. I have unlocked bootloader and rooted the phone. I tried to install clockworkmod recovery but wasn't successfully. So for a while now I've been using my phone rooted and with bootloader unlocked. I decide I dont want my phone to be rooted anymore, so I unroot my phone using SuperSU. After that I relocked my bootloader using fastboot. Now when I want to factory reset my phone it always gets stuck on the red HTC development menu. Would someone please help me figure out how to factory reset my phone? Thank you!
do it in recovery?

I am not well experience on rooting and install things on Android. May you explain to me how to install twrp recovery on my HTC One V that is now relocked and unrooted?

Well, you need to unlock and root again ahah. Then just connect the phone in fastboot mode, on your pc copy the twrp recovery file to your fastboot folder, open cmd and type fastboot flash recovery nameofrecovery.img, then just reboot your phone into recovery
