Just earlier I noticed that my ringtones don't play. It wasn't vibrating aswell unless it was on the vibrate mode.
Now it seems to vibrate aswell normally.
But i'm still left with the problem where on an incoming call the ringtone doesn't play.
In "sounds and notifications" on the incoming call option when I press play nothing happens with whichever ringtone I select. However on other alerts its fine.
[EDIT] I've just realised that I can't chaange any option in Sounds and Notifications. Even when I press the OK button it loads but it doesn't close and no alerts or any notification changes. However I've tested some notifications just to see if the play button actually plays the tone that is selected and it does play but on incoming call alert I can't get anything to play. Either way whatever I change in SOUNDS AND NOTIFICATIONS I can't save it and I cant close it.
Very wierd....Any ideas..?
AND YES...I've soft reseted and tried.
AND NO.....I am not willing to reflash as Ive just got it setup the way I want and installed everything nicely and want to leave it the way it is..
Question: Did you install any other media play which might have re-assoicated the wav or audio defaults. This will cause the rings not to work.
Double post sorry

Try this cab file it may work, if not you may need to hard reset that is the only way, you can always do a back up first.

I've been doing come searching, but can't seem to find any thread about the same problem for a HTC Desire.
I've had it for about two weeks now, but this weekend, it just stopped making sounds when i recieve text messages. i've tried installing the Audio Manager app from market, but it didn't help.
Solutions??
just noticed mine started doing this today, after i changed hte notifications to my own ringtone.
doh mine was easily fixed. Make sure your notification volume is up, its different from your ringtone volume.
messaging app, menu, notifications >> on
Hi all,
In the last few days I have noticed a strange issue with my DHD in that all my notification sounds have stopped. That includes my SMS, Gmail and Talk notifications. All settings are as they were with nothing changed. My incoming call ringtone plays fine.
I am not sure if this is related, but when I first got my HD I noticed that the keypad tones in the dialler and the screen locking sound were very very quiet compared to other sounds on my phone. Strangely enough, these are both very loud now!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Hi, I'm running the AOKP JB Milestone 1 ROM on my Nexus. I dropped my phone in some water recently, and immediately switched it off and dried it. After a while, I switched it on and glory be, it was all working fine.
Except some notifications. At first I thought my speaker had broken, because it wouldn't play music or some notification tones (Whatsapp). But when I press the volume button, the beep is there. Plus when I receive texts and calls, the tones play. But the phone dialler tones, the UI 'clicks', my Whatsapp tones, Youtube videos and my music player do not work.
Something to do with 3rd party apps and the sound? Please help!
you should try going recovery, backup. then go reset to factory.
if it still does not work then it should be a hardware problem
terrible luck btw, but good luck!
