Can I flash from uk froyo 3.4.2 to china froyo? - Defy General

Is it possible or i'm stuck with 3.4.2 based?

I never tried this but I don't would do that.
UK and Finland ROM's are much better and keep in mind, that the China-ROM could break your flashlight.

I'm having the same request here.
Im on:
Android Version: 2.2.1
Build: 3.4.2-117
I flashed the UK rom because I was previously stuck with an endless boot loop issue.
I can't stick with the UK rom because I won't get 3G here in Canada.
Am I able to flash to Chinese 2.2? From there I can probably get some custom roms that are based on the T-Mobile rom.
Also, I can't seem to get my System Rocovery to work anymore. I hold volume down and power. I get to the screen with the android fella and the warning/exclamation thing. Before all I had to do was tap the bottom right, but that doesn't seem to work anymore.
Please help

Upon seeing the warning/exclamation thing try pressing the volume +/- together. I hope this work....

It works great. Thanks!
Anyone know if the China 2.2 ROM is newer than the UK Build: 3.4.2-117?

no you can't
the UK/T 2.2 is higher than CN froyo.

Thanks.
From UK/T 2.2, Am I able to flash to 3.4.2_145-003 and load Pays-ROM Defy v3.2 Froyo (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=943258)

You have two options:
1: Flash the older radio version that came with your phone. This will work fine with all 2.1 (eclair) based roms. You won't be able to run most of the new 2.2 based roms as they seem to be requiring the very latest radio.
2: get an unlock code from htcsimunlock.com or similar. This only needs to be done once and is what I did (same boat!). Then you'll be able to run the latest roms. Costs about 15 quid.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App

[Q] Android 2.2.1

Does anyone know if we are receiving the 2.2.1 update for our G2's? I understand that the phone only came out a few months ago but since we are pretty much running Vanilla Android I don't see what the hold up could be if there are any. I'm just going to assume that the 2.2.1 is just some small fixes for the system?
Sorry if this is a repeat but I did search this forum and found nothing except information on Android 2.3.
Thanks
Flash a custom rom it should be running 2.2.1

phone update

Not living in the US and T-mobile UK not having the same phones the US has, I am in a bit of a predicament.
I currently have the Slide Reloaded v1 rom installed on my phone and would like to install gingerbread however I don't believe it has reached the UK. I called them and they have no clue that the slide even existed
Advice?

I think you are a bit confused here gingerbread is not provided by the carrier as an OTA update(t-mo in this case) it is a custom rom built by cyanogenmod's team of developers that you flash using clockwork recovery (you know how it goes, you flashed slide reloaded). So all you have to do if you want to install gingerbread is either go here
http://mirror.teamdouche.net/?device=espresso
and download one of those EXPERIMENTAL builds OR wait untill a stable version is posted, you will see it in the development section when its up.
Just wait for it.... oh btw the rom is CM7, so cm7=gingerbread for the slide... just in case you didnt know what it was

[Q] Help getting back to stock or decent rom

Hi Guys
I rooted my HD last night with latest cyanogen with everything working fine.
So I then tried to overclock and flashed a kernal to do it
2.6.32.21-ck2-hrkfdn-cyanogenmod-gf01fa7d-dirty
since then the phone has been running like a dog. if i run a benchmark i get device does not support stencil buffers and I cant play games at all.
Is there a better kernal to use or can anyone explain how to get back to the stock kernal ?
Cheers
Flash your cyanogenmod rom again, then you have your old kernel back.

Back to stock
Hi guys,
I've unrooted my DHD the other day from LeeDroid 3.3.3, now back to stock (I believe?) 1.32.405.6, Android version 2.2.
When I check online for OTA updates the phone says there are no updates, but I know there is a 2.3 GB version with a 3.0 Sense available.
Any ideea how to get the latest OTA, please?
The only thing I can guess at is that something is not quite 'stock'. Did you restore your old radio and original hboot backup that was made when you originally rooted it? You might've already used this but Yoshi_523 wrote an awesome guide that I used when I needed phone fixed under warranty:

[Q] Assitance very much appreciated.

Hi.
As much as I really like the xda forums, I am having real trouble searching for my answer. Maybe I am thinking illogically!
I am in U.K. on Vodafone.
My CID is VODAP001
Android version 4.0.4
HTC Sense version 4.1
I have installed Android Revolution HD 9.4.1
If relevant, my HTC SDK API level is 4.23
In a nutshell, I am hoping to install JB update - either the official Vodafone one, or possibly Revolution (if I can figure out if that is fully functional for my device).
I hoped that Vodafone would have released the OTA update before now. But I don't know if my install of Revo is stopping my device from automatically looking for updates.
I thought I would be able to go to settings/about/software and search for updates, but that option doesn't seem to be available (is Revolution switching this feature off?)
So:
Is it worth me trying to roll back to stock, and manually check for updates periodically?
(If so, please could someone point me to a recent no brainer post on how to do this?)
Or:
Does the latest JB release of Revolution work with my model/network?
(If so, do I need to roll back to stock and start from scratch, or can I "update" my current version.
Whilst I am not totally noob to all this, I do find it slightly daunting, and I can't always tell which threads are the most relevant or up to date, so please excuse me if my questions are obvious to you. I just find that after a while on XDA I have loads of tabs and it all gets a bit backwardy and forwardy!
Many thanks in advance.

Hi,
Your CID has not yet received the official HTC jellybean update. This means that you will NOT be able to get an update from vodafone and also you wont be able to flash Android revollution HD 17.0 (Jellybean).
You will have to wait for HTC to roll out the official JB update for your device.
And none of the custom ROMS (including ARHD 17.0) support OTA update feature. You can update your device OTA ONLY and ONLY if you are on stock ROM, stock recovery and stock kernel.

There are custom ROMs that support OTA, but ARHD is not one.
