Anyone know if I can use the standard Android Contacts app rather than "people" on my unrooted Desire?
I want to be able to share contacts as QR codes (everyone I know has an android phone) and "People" doesn't have that option
I want to keep all my other HTC stuff though
Any help appreciated (I did find a link on another forum to the contacts app but the file has been deleted)
thanks
You might want to try EasyShare instead, it's in the Market & it's free. Works great on my Desire.
Impossible to do unless you root an install a custom mod capable of it.
Afaik even the stock rooted rom cannot install stock contacts, it has to be a custom rom.
Hi,
I have a problem to get my backup on my new phone. Let me explain, I had a htc m8, I made a backup with htc sync on my pc and when it broke I bought the LG G4 but now it seems that the lg backup software can't read the backup files made with the htc sync. I searched a way to get it back but the only way I found was if the m8 could be turn on and as you can think it can't.
Do you know any way to get my contacts and/or sms back to my g4 ?
Thanks.
Hello everyone,
I have bought a LG G3 T-Mobile D851. I want to remove pre installed T-Mobile apps from my phone. I am new in Flashing/boot loader. Can anyone guide me how to do it?
I want to make my phone clean from useless apps.
Awaiting for your responses.
Thank you
Arfarsh
Best way is to root your phone & install a custom ROM without all the bloatware TMo put in. Plenty of how-tos in this forum, you need to spend some time & search & you will find what you need.

message me, I will teach you how to root and Un install all that junk right from your phone. You won't need a computer for any step ?
I've bought used N910A phone and the EFS parition was corrupted, so it had to be wiped in service mode. The rest is working fine and after ODIN with stock rom + temporary root I can access to EFS partition, but it doesn't include anything so I need to put there content. The best way could be if somebody will give me the EFS partition backup then I will change IMEI and certificate for original one.
Thanks in advance for this. It will save my life!
You can PM to me if you don't want to share this EFS on the forum.

Can anybody help in this, please? It is very simply help, so any support will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Doubt anyone here wants to share EFS files. When you talk about altering EFS and IMEI, you're getting into legal issues with phones.

I whole heartedly agree. If you messed the phone up that bad you should mostlilely not be messing with it or take it to some place to service it for you.
And just an FYI i have seen alot of not so well english speakers askong for different parts of firmware or code of devices so the could build clones. I have been in the software and devices running linux code for over 10 years starting out with FTA (free to air) and we had a company out of south korea build our units and we did the code to make the set top boxes work. We many of our units cloned and our software stolen reversed and rebuilt to make it look like theirs. Thats why i got out of that business.
So thats why you are going to have a real hard time finding someone to share their efs partition. And you should always backup your device before doing anything to it ever and never ever aquire one with a missine imei or efs

Of course I fully agree with you. I am android user since first android comercial impementation (on HTC G1), and of course I always make nandroid backup and EFS backup. This time it is completely different story. As I said I've bought phone with corrupted EFS partition, but full information about IMEI is available. So the only way to make this phone running is to get any EFS partition and change settings. For people having doubts: you can get rid IMEI from settings from the EFS partition. I just need the content to set up the rest.
Thanks in advance. Please PM to me if you can help me. Once again: thanks.
Hello All,
after being able to export my contacts to my SD Card on my HTC M8 At&t , I input a password as indicated by HTC, and as time has proven, whenever you follow instructions you`re not sure of what you`re doing, things don`t go our way.
I hadn`t synced all my contacts to my google account yet, so I was counting on all my contacts from the sd card to sync to my htc.
Off course, not noticing what I did, I converted my Att m8 to a Gpe, and I wasn`t able to sync the contacts back.
Anyone able to assist me, on how to convert the .vef contacts, to standard .vcf?
Or has a HTC Sense, and is able to assist me on converting my contact list?
I depend on some of these professional contacts to do my job, so any help would be much appreciated.
:good:
I tried flashing a new rom with sense to try if it would work, but I got close to bricking my phone... Trust me, it took me about an hour to get out of a bootloop!!
Many thanks,
Cheers!

Hi, Chubbiebr...
Just done a quick Google search and found this...

...not entirely sure, but I hope it's of some use to you and helps resolve your problem.

Hello Ged,
Thanks a lot for you input, but I had gone through that thread searching before and unfortunately Google does not recognize the .vef file.
Thanks anyway, but it's still not the solution I need.
Best regards
