my question is : wich rom did you guys recommend me to install because im trying to look for more information on this one but i FAIL.
second : how to install the one that you recommend me ? with Froyo of course..
third : consecuences? advices?
THANK YOU !!
I would just say read...but I did just type up a How-to for my buddy yesterday so copy/paste isn't out of the question. Ignore any personal specific things that are included. This is provided you have FULLY ROOTED your phone. I'm not liable for jacking anything up etc, etc.
Ok, here’s the quick and dirty.
Files you need: download on your phone
Radios:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/yqau3epazcyqdu3/EVO_Radio_2.15.00.07.28.zip
http://www.mediafire.com/file/72eqb78zi71abk8/EVO_WiMAX_26023_R01.zip
ROM: Only choose one
Rooted version of Stock OTA: http://massmirror.com/7f191510efa40b999eec50b09e9dd116.html
*or*
The ROM I’m running now: http://deck.alexauv.com/s3vo_1_2-D_080310_005245.zip
[Edit: I have since updated to Fresh 3.1.0.1]
Download quickboot from the marketplace
Procedure:
1. Move the radios and the ROM you chose to the root of your SD card using whatever file explorer you use. I’m pretty sure you have ES File Explorer on the ROM you have now.
2. Open up People from your app drawer and navigate to Menu>Import/Export>Export to SD Card. This puts a .vcf file on your SD Card. Import after the flash to get your contacts back.
3. You should be good with titanium backup by now. Just remember after you flash, start Titanium, click the problems button, and download the new version of busybox. To do your back up, tap Backup/Restore>Menu>Batch>Restore Missing apps + Data
4. Open up the quickboot program you downloaded from the market and tap “Recovery”. Let the phone reboot to the console.
5. Go to Backup/Restore and press Power to select.
a. Select Nand Backup by highlighting and pressing power
b. Press Power again to confirm
c. If you have issues with 2.2 you can always come back here and restore your current ROM by using your Nand
6. Go back to the previous menu by pressing both up/down on the volume toggle. This can be tricky at times.
7. Highlight Wipe, press power to select
a. Highlight and press power to select, then power again to confirm on the following:
i. Wipe Data/Factory reset
ii. Wipe Cache
iii. Wipe Dalvik – cache
b. Return back to the main menu by holding in both volume keys
8. Navigate to Flash zip from sdcard
9. Highlight and press power to select the Radio-2.15.00.07.28.zip
a. Press power to confirm
b. If it doesn’t take you back to the main menu, return to the main menu and select “Reboot System Now”
i. This reboots the phone and updates the radio.
ii. If it brings you to a black screen with a phone and arrows making a circle, don’t worry this is normal
iii. Once it’s finished, it should reboot back to recovery
10. Return back to flash zip from sdcard
a. Highlight and select the Wimax update26023
i. Follow the same process for the radio
ii. Phone will boot back to recovery
11. Return to flash zip from sdcard
a. Highlight and select the ROM you chose to download
i. Press power to confirm
ii. Sit back and enjoy the script
b. If it does not take you to the main menu when it is finished. Return to the main menu and reboot your phone.
12. Congratulations…you are now running a rooted version of the 2.2 update.
Unless stated otherwise, if you’re on XDA and you see a ROM you want to try out, follow these same steps except the updating radios. You can make Nand backups of each ROM so you can switch between them and see which ones you like better.
That was FAST!! my first post and i'm really impress! TKS!
1. Flash one of the three CYANOGEN RC1, CYANOGEN NIGHTLYS, OR AVALUNCHMOD all are FROYO...IF YOU WANT ONLY FROYO NO SENSE GO WITH CYANOGEN RC1 OR NIGHTLY...BTW CYANOGEN MOD ARE VERY STABLE.
2. BOOT INTO RECOVERY VIA ROM MANAGER (IN THE APP STORE) OR MANUAL 1. POWER OFF THE PHONE. 2. HOLD DOWN THE VOLUME DOWN AT THE SAME TX POWER ON THE PHONE THE WILL PUT YOU IN RECOVERY. 3. STROLL DOWN AND CLICK ON RECOVERY WITH THE POWER BUTTON. 4. DO A NANDROID BACK FIRST THEN FLASH WHATEVER ROM ZIP YOU DOWNLOADED. 5. WHEN IT FINISH INSTALL THE ROM REBOOT THE PHONE. AND YOURE DONE! (TOASTS METHOD)
3. REMEMBER TO DO A NANDROID BACKUP JUST IN CASE SOMETHING GOES WRONG...

We try to take care of people here. Never be afraid to ask questions, but it never hurts to research what you're trying to do either. Most of the devs will give you exactly what you need to flash their roms in the post and as far as the process to flash goes, those threads aren't too far either.

CM6 Bootloader Loop Error! EVO 4G

I Have An Evo 4G, Rooted With UnrEVOked Forever. Used Rom Manager to Install Clockmod Recovery And To Install Cyanogen Mod 6. Before This, I Put a PC36IMG zip that had Splash1 in it, from the unrevoked site and instead of saying HTC EVO 4G in a bright white screen, its UNREVOKED with bright white screen. it then goes into a cyanogen mod bootloader animation that i got off the market called Boot changer lite or something? and it loops over and over showing either the cyanogen mod title, or it just gets to the cyan dude with a skateboard but freezes. i tried putting different PC36IMG files and using clockmod recovery to push it on sd and load it, but it says
-- Installing: /sdcard/PC36IMG.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing Update...
Installation Aborted.
HELP ME PLEASE!!!
Flash a stock rooted ROM from http://goo-inside.me/evo/stock/ and then using ROM Manager, flash the alternate recovery (Amon_RA Recovery 1.8.0), then download CyanogenMod 6.1.2 ( http://goo-inside.me/cm/supersonic/stable/ ), copy it to the root of your SD card, remove any PC36IMG.zip, boot into recovery, and flash the ZIP from there.
how do i use rom manager when my screen is looping the boot animation over and over? i can flash stock rooted rom using clockwork recovery 3.0.0.2, and flash the recovery amon_RA? im sorry i am a noob and i would ask for step by step, not very detailed but to where i can know what to do first, if you have time?
1) Flash the stock rooted 3.70.651.1 ROM from my link above (here it is again), via ClockworkMod Recovery.
I'm going to assume you have an older phone with the older partition structure. For more information, and to tell what structure you have, check out this thread once you complete Step 1, before you do Step 2. I'm also going to assume you have the Android SDK installed and set up. If you do, just open your Command Prompt, cd to your SDK\platform-tools folder, and run the command "adb shell cat /proc/mtd" (without the quotes). If you see an erase size of 20000, then continue. If you see 40000, STOP and let us know.
DO NOT CONTINUE IF YOU HAVE THE NEW PARTITION ERASE SIZE OF 40000!
2) Once you boot up into the ROM, download ROM Manager from the Market, if it's not already included in the ROM. You will of course have to add your Google account in order to access the Market.
3) Open ROM Manager, scroll to the bottom, and tap "Flash Alternate Recovery"
4a) Once it has finished flashing, download CyanogenMod 6.1.2 using your browser at the above link (here's the link again). You'll want the file update-cm-6.1.2-Supersonic-signed.zip.
4b) Also download the attached FORMAT_ALL.zip. This will help ensure you don't have any files from Sense accidentally carry over into CM.
4c) Finally, download the latest HDPI Google Apps package from here (the latest one has a link at the top of the page, and is the gapps-hdpi-20101114-signed.zip file).
5a) If you downloaded via your phone, use a file manager of your choice (I like Root Explorer, but there's free ones like OI File Manager in the Market) to move the three ZIPs from /sdcard/download/ to /sdcard/ (aka, the root of your SD card).
5b) If you downloaded via your computer, attach your phone to your computer via USB, turn on Disk mode, and copy the three ZIP files to the root of your SD card.
6) Power off your phone, then hold down Volume Down and Power to turn it back on. If you're taken to a white screen with skating Androids on the bottom (aka, hboot), then press Volume Down until RECOVERY is highlighted, then press the power button.
7) You should now be at a black screen with yellow text. This is Amon_RA recovery. Press Volume Down until you highlight Backup/Restore, and press Power. Press Volume Down and highly Nand Backup, and press Power again. Press Power one more time to confirm the start of the backup. It'll then take a few minutes to perform the backup (depending on how fast your SD card is).
8) Once it's done, you'll be back at the Backup/Restore menu. Make sure Return is highlighted, then press Power. Press Volume Down until Flash zip from sdcard is highlighted, then press Power to select it. Use Volume Down to highlight FORMAT_ALL.zip and press Power twice to select it, then confirm the flash.
9) Once that's done, scroll back to Flash zip from sdcard, then select update-cm-6.1.2-Supersonic-signed.zip. Press Power twice to select then confirm it.
10) Finally, go back to the Flash zip from sdcard menu one last time, highlight gapps-hdpi-20101114-signed.zip, and press power twice to select and confirm.
11) Finally, select Reboot phone now, and wait. The first boot will be a few minutes (it has to rebuild its caches), but after it's loaded, the Tutorial "Welcome to your PC36100" screen will show up. Congratulations, you have CyanogenMod!
thanks aloottt mate! cm6 is runnning amazing, but where can i get my gapps back? just the gapps, i downloaded "youtube" and "mail!" but i click the app and it says Force Close Everytime? i have angry birds and all from custom downloads and theyre fine, just the gapps is what i want. can i get the market at least? or a substitute like appbrain?
If you followed the directions I gave, it tells you to download the gapps package, and flash it. Make sure you flash the HDPI package only, not the MDPI or MDPI-tiny.

GUYS, GUYS solve it down all right. If a new user wants to flash CM9 he won't know anything about Epslyon or Quark builds and finding links is not that easy. So everyone end up with adi4motion thread which was very useful as you can find everything there, no need to search for any needed stuff. Its not that he was taking credit from either of DEV's neither i do. Just making things easier for users who want to try CM9 and that's just it. No offence. Just trying to help users.
Hai,
I've got a question about the battery life. Could it be that it is a lot shorter now i'm using cm9 than when i was on cm7? I could do a hole day, from evening to evening, but now sometimes i have to charge 2 times a day! I have battery fix installed on my red lens defy.

Changelog?
Hey,
I was wondering if you could include a changelog in the 1st post? It'll be useful in case anybody didn't want to update everytime a new version came out.
Thanks!

I was wondering if you could include a changelog in the 1st post? It'll be useful in case anybody didn't want to update everytime a new version came out.
Thanks!

ya would love to do that. but i can't do that because it makes bug tracking harder this is why they closed adi4motion thread. So you want, visit the original thread and ask the builder. If it was WIUI i can say but not for CM9 builds. I will try my best to post the change log. Have to ask people before doing anything like that.
This might help a few users but wasn't needed..
Even Multiple threads about same information makes stuff confusing sometimes..
Doesn't matter from where I send it, what matters is written above

It is never about CM9. Its about all ICS ROM and strictly no bug reports. I don't want to confuse users.

Link added.
I know you've got a long op already but maybe it would be good to add links the various mods available to ics roms like ics reloaded and v6 supercharger.
Edit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535540 (CM9 all-in-one package)

I'd consider something a little more subtle.. color wise.
The start post and your signature make my eyes hurt.

[Q] No phone calls or incoming texts after updating stock to CM10.1 with TWRP

I updated my T989 from stock to CM10.1 using TWRP (installed with ODIN). Everything looks like it is working so far except I can't send or receive phone calls and I can't receive texts. When I try to place a call, it says "No Service" even though my "Settings - About" shows I'm on T-Mobile and I can send texts.
I've only found old threads related to this or threads for different phones, but my searches lead me to believe this is a problem with the radio - does that sound right?
Here is what I tried:
1) Find the SGH-T989-UVMC6 zip file from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1895400
2) Download the file SGH-T989_UVMC6_radio.zip to my phone
3) Shut down phone
4) Start phone by holding vol up/down buttons
5) In Team Win Recovery Project v2.5.0.0, I press the "Install" button
6) I select /sdcard/Download/ directory (Internal SDcard) and the file above
7) I swipe to confirm flash
8) I get a message in red, "Failed"
9) There is also some text saying "Verifying zip signature..." then "E:Zip signature verification failed: 1"
First, am I on the right track?
Second, what should I try next?
Thank you!
Bill
Try getting your download from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1895400
And have a look at this thread, it requires an Odin flash:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2138101&page=279
Ya, same link, I saw that after...but a fresh download wouldn't hurt, might be bad.

Thanks for the reply. The files you mentioned are the ones I was using - glad to see I grabbed the right ones. Re-downloading didn't help, but it got me thinking of a different way to try this. There are probably better ways, but in case anyone else comes along with this problem maybe it will help...
Here is what I ended up doing:
1) Use ODIN (on my PC) to put back the original stock rom (T989UVLE1_T989TMBLE1_T989UVLE1_HOME.tar.md5) then disconnect
2) Restart while holding the volume keys then select 'Factory Reset' (I forgot that part and it was stuck on the Samsung logo screen)
3) Start phone and reconnect to PC. Use Kies (on my PC) to upgrade to the stock firmware to the latest (maybe this updated the radio too?)
4) Made a test phone call (still works!)
5) Kill all processes on PC starting with 'kies'
6) Use ODIN (on my PC) to install TWRP (openrecovery-twrp-2.5.0.0-hercules.tar) then disconnect
7) Restart phone while holding the volume keys to start Team Win. While in TWRP, do all these:
7a) 'Backup' the stock configuration
7b) 'Install CM' (cm-10.1.0-hercules.zip)
7c) Answered no when asked if I wanted to 'Root'
7d) 'Install Google Apps' (gapps-jb-2013030011-signed.zip)
7e) Wipe (then 'Swipe to Factory Reset')
7f) Reboot
7g) System
8) Once the phone restarted I had Cyanogenmod 10.1 and my test phone call worked! Yipee
Note: These files were for the T989 (USA), not sure which ones would be needed for T989D...

somebody can help me?
My device is Xperia Arc S. Already unlock bootloader. Already root and install X-part for CWM.
next time read the instructions provided by the ones who posted whatever it is that you have downloaded.
> after using FlashTool to flash the kernel restart your phone.
> then right at the moment you see the kernel's logo on the screen press any of
the hardware buttons of your phone repeatedly until your phone enters recovery
mode.
> inside the recovery mode choose "install update zip" or something like that,
then choose the .zip file you wish to install, in this case, its the CM10.1 LX ROM
that you have downloaded. wait until it is done.
> then wipe data, cache and dalvik cache.
> restart the phone.
for more details i suggest that you go back and read the instruction provided in the thread where you saw that ROM, and use the search function for tutorial on how to properly install ROMS and Kernel and what not.
now, have a nice day!
