pretty much my question is no one has the Tmobile US defy sbf yet?
I'm getting a i9000t and it already has the 2.2 update it is locked to telstra
and i'm thinking going to gingerbread 2.3 but would like to hear what people are running on their i9000t telstra phones that is fast and stable but before i start modifying do i need to unlock the network first?
what is the best way to unlock a i9000t (telstra branded) can this be done easily without rooting the phone or should i root it first?
the next thing is that it would be wise for me to back up the 2.2 telstra rom before flashing.
Im also interested to know which modem is best sorted for telstra next g for good reception in city & rural areas??
I have heard users reporting that the JL2 modem works well
and perhaps DVJP9 which is what the telstra 2.2 update is using.
i cant upgrade my defy, im stuck with:
firmware version- 2.1-update1
kernal version- 2.6.29
its non blur and i cant upgrade it!!!
its a really OLD rom
People might be able to better help you if you mention *why* you can't upgrade. What you have tried so far, and perhaps also what you want to upgrade to.

tell us why can't you upgrade your defy. Then only we can provide you a solution.
Do you get freeze at moto logo on the new flash? It happened to me once, I had the 2.1 Up1, I just had to try a lot, and I really mean a lot, of ROMs before founding one that worked. The one that I used was the downloadable one from the guide of how to flash the defy, in the link where says like: if you flashed 2.3.4 and cant come back...there's a guide, use the 2.2 ROM.
I am looking for a stock froyo 2.2.2 rom for the motorola defy on the telecom nz xt network. I currently run cm7.1 and am happy with that for the most part but I was a little over-excited in flashing my defy and forgot to back up the original rom so I am asking if anyone out there might have it.
Thanks.
Hi,
i have a problem with the phone line after i updated the firmware. I had a 5660V with gingerbread 2.3.4 but i updated it with 2.3.6 for 5660 thinking there was no difference between the two models of phone but now the line is not going so well and i don't know if there are problems of compatibility. I don't know how to go back to the previous firmware because i find only an Australian version branded Optus and i don't want that. Can everybody help me?
