Hi, can someone perhaps provide a Youtube Apk that I can download using only my phone? I accidentally deleted Youtube from my phone, and I won't have my computer for a couple days. I have searched around using my phone, and have tried about 10 downloads and they either won't download, or will dowload but won't install. Can't find the darn thing in the Android market either.... why is this so hard?? Lol, and thanks for any help. Oh, and I'm running the Eclair version of Epic Experience and HAVE tried extracting and installing the app from the ROM file itself using Root Explorer, and even THAT wouldn't install. WTH? Lol
And one other thing, I DO have the unknown sources box checked, so that's not the problem. Thx

Thank you. What was I doing wrong before? Do the apps have to be in that particular loation to install? I've downloaded things before, and just chosen 'install' right away, and they worked.

I have the samsung sprint epic 4g
I've previously installed the clockwork mod i believe. It was a one click install type of thing. I dont know what it did to the phone and didtn really notice a difference aside from a few applications that were put onto the phone.
I want to go to FROYO. Am i currently rooted?
Do i need to unroot this clockwork thing to root to froyo? how do i do this if i need to do this step?
If i don't need to do this part can you direct me to where i need to be.

If you have cwm you can go ahead and flash a dk28 rom that has rfs support.

If you read the link you would notice that its something that cannot be done in are current state. This is as prime example of why not having source is killing us

This might be a really noob question but can you cook a theme on the UOT Kitchen on your phone I was trying to do this just to see if it could be done but when I went to uploade the file it said there was no files to upload any ideas if this is possible ?

wtf you serious? lolz well anyways The program it self runs alot of memory and shizzz like that...thats why you get errors and what not on the phone. When i was trying to write a script on unbuntoooo linux on my phone it couldnt handle the overload..and it lags like hell... thats why its best to use your desktop/laptop.

i am patiently waiting. I miss my old evo rooted. I was actually given a brand new evo that had 2.2 on it and the ota showed up and without thinking i updated. So mad about that.

Hope it's soon because I'm ready I just got my evo 4g yesterday and tried to superoneclick root and z4root and it didn't work.. Never thought to check and see if 2.3 can root. Damn

If anything, the devs are probably getting tired of the obnoxious kids in the Evo forums badgering them. Instead of trying harder, I'd give up if I were in their shoes.

Ok I paid a guy to root my phone and he wasnt able to.. he was using ginger break 1 click solution from the phone..
so it didnt work..lol im out the money.. and i still need to do it..

Wrong sub-forum. This is development for developers. Next time post in General or Q&A. Go to General and do a search for "rooting EI22 OTA" without the quotes and you will see the how to thread in the list.

First you need to locate odin 1.8. Then install the samsung drivers for the galaxy s. Next download this Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?opnq0n0pau8cu01. Now open up odin, put the tar you got in PDA. Next turn your epic completely off (pull battery then put back in) and then plug your epic in and make sure ONLY auto reboot is checked on odin. Now hit start on odin and wait. Now when it is done, your phone will be 'rooted'. Now you can download 'superuser' from the market.
Next I reccomend installing a ROM. A good one for starters is mostly stock which you can find in the development section. Put the zip on your sd card. Now shut.down your phone. Next hold down volume down, camera and power until you get a recovery screen. Next use the volume keys to navigate to install zip from sd card and press camera to select. Now do the same with choose zip and choose mostly stock. Now hit yes and wait. After that is done, use the back arrow to go back and choose reboot. This boot will take a while...
Now your phone will be way better than that **** that didnt give you your money would have made it.
If this worked for you, I would appreciate a thanks or donation.
That rom contains a bunch of fixes. Also I reccomend doing the same thing you did with mostlystock with the samurai kernel.

OH buddy! if you only knew lol.. Im just out of the loop.. but as for calling me an idiot.. man is this how you expect people to learn or are you like the guy i went and saw today that charged me basicly for his tiime? well have a nice day..
p.s. Im the one that dropped the HTC touch setting for metro.. on this forum lol.. that was a few years ago and as time goes by you need to brush up and relearn some things for new phones.. but when people were whinning about the touch.. me and a buddy were busy figuring it.. and we dropped the settings here so every body could use them.. and not once were we rude to any body that need help or asked a question.. as for the location of this post..honest mistake.. wont happen again.

Just look for qbking77 vids. That's how I leanred to root mine bruh. They r very helpful and everything u need is in his notes on the videos of wat u need to do. But marcusant nailed it complety. But I'm more of a visual guy.
