tried sending an mms message on gingervillain 0.9 yesterday and it just said sending for 6 hours
do mms messages not work on this rom?
is there a way to make them work?
Search the forums, A lot of threads like this.
i did search
no threads relate to this issue on this rom
I have similar issue with all gingerbread builds. I fixed it by deleting the default APNs that were listed and entering the mms apn manually. I then had to reboot and cycle the data radio. If I enter the apn for data, mms will stop working.

I can't receive MMS messages and I was wondering if this is a problem with my ROM or some settings in my phone.
I'm on PagePlus and the APN settings are what the thread in the development forum but I still can't receive them. The only settings that is different from what I find by googling Verizon's APN settings is the MNC which is 012 in my phone and 004 according to the internet. When I try to change i to 004 it deletes the APN.
List of APNs: https://github.com/cyanogenmod/android_vendor_cm/blob/ics/prebuilt/common/etc/apns-conf.xml
I'm running aerovan's cm-10-20121113-UNOFFICIAL-vivow with the aeroevan_ICSv15-bfs kernel.
Any ideas people have would be great.
Edit: I can send and receive picture MMS but not group texts from iphones
Edit2: Fixed the problem. Never mind.
and yes, i've read through like 20 threads with the same name on multiple phones and carriers and tried everything in them and it hasn't worked. I tried downloading gosms and reducing the maximum mms size to 300 kb, and tried sending a picture. didn't work. I did the *#*#4636#*#* thing and messed with the smsc number. I'm running paranoid android 3.65 on tmobile galaxy siii. I was able to send multiple mms this morning, and now all of a sudden they all stop and says message not sent, service not activated on network. has anyone found a solution other than the ones i've already tried?
replace MMS.apk from early build, its should fix.

I installed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2178697 and now it works! Plus extra goodies. Thanks man I should have thought of that!
had this problem and I use Hangouts. If you go to settings you can set the APN for sms mms messages
Alright, here's my story, after switching from Sense to CM11 when I first got my HTC One a few months ago things were working alright, then at some point I lost the ability to send or receive mms messages. I looked online and found that there were a few people with the same problem, most said the problem had to do with the apn settings, the solution to was either modified apn settings or using an alternate messaging program, such as 8sms.
Anyways, I tried several different apn setups to try and get my mms back, my LTE internet worked, but no mms. Eventually I found a setup that allowed me to send a mms to someone, but not receive one. I figured that was a good as I was going to get it.
After a few OTA nightly updates I decided to tinker with the apn settings again; my hope being that one of the new nightlies would have fixed the problem if I restored my apn settings to default. This didn't help and cost me the ability to even send mms. Needless to say I scoured the web to find usable apn settings again (I prefer to use the stock messaging app), eventually I ended up Frankensteining several together and found a solution that allowed for me to send and receive mms, as well as my LTE internet!:laugh::laugh:
[TL/DR]
Found APN settings that enable sending and receiving mms, as well as LTE internet (with a lte subscription, it's not a hack or anything).

I'm on the cm11 nightlies for m7vzw and did this and still can't send MMS. any ideas?
So first let me say I have searched multiple sites and fourms on this question. Issue seems to be intermittent Mms wokrs perfectly when phone is initially power cycled. After a few messages mms or not then mms pictures stops working. The bizarre thing is I still get messages in mms format sent and received instantly. Gifs/pics is the issue only. I have checked the apn settings for the phone and textra and they match. I even tried "8080" for the port in both textra and the network settings. Issue seems to only happen after phone has ran for 45+ minuets. Please help as I use group messaging for a lot of my clients and friends. Thanks in advance.
P.s. I have the jedi x20 rom installed. I'll also be at work until 3 pm central time so I might not be able to try suggestions until then.
Double check the apn settings within system settings as well. Also make sure that 'activate mobile data' and use mms for group chats are on
I am having a tough go at it trying to send pics with my S8+. Have tried Messages+, stock app and textra. Can not seam to access apn settings to add or edit them. Looking for any ideas or suggestions.
When you tried Textra, was MMS set to System or Legacy?

I have trouble sending MMS messages at times. From what I've read, this is more an issue with Android 7.x, and it's caused by the MMS service messing up in some way when there's been quite a bit of MMS traffic on the phone.
I've tried using different messaging apps, tried cleaning the SIM card, and changed settings around in Textra, but nothing works (even rebooting). Just gotta give it time to reset.
