[Q] Stock registry values - Windows Phone 7 General

I was screwing around with different colors and now its not displaying a couple fonts correctly.
Is there a list of stock reg values floating around? I searched quite a bit and couldn't find one for wp7.
Specifically for HKLM\ControlPanel\Themes\1
Edit: Forgot to say its an HTC HD2/HD7

if it's an hd2, can't you just reflash it?

Wrong Colors - Sliding Panel Media

I have searched in as many word combinations as i can think of, but i cannot find and answer to my problem.
I just installed Kavana 6.1 (RUU_Excalibur_WM61_Kavana_080408_WWE.exe) rom a couple of days ago (on a T-mobile Dash) and noticed something while i was customizing and making it my own special blend.
I have my Home Screen Layout as the Sliding Panel Media. The problem arises when i attempt to change the colors.
When i change the color scheme to:
Blue - I get the base hue of BLUE but the panel background remains GREEN
Brown - base hue correct, panel background remains Green
Green - everything matches with green (of course)
Grey - base hue correct, panel background still Green
Lake - everything matches with Lake
Light Green - everything matches
Magenta - base hue correct, panel is Green
Purple - base hue once again correct, and panel is still GREEN!
Red - everything matches in Red
My background image is set to Default. I am so sick of looking at green right now. Has anyone else encountered this???
I am having the exact same issue. I just switched to Kavana 080408 from Ricky's v24 and now I can't get the home screen background to work correctly.
Loving that I am not alone in this but sorry you're going through the same issue. Me likes my colors and gotta have em!
Replace the Background
I just did this update today and it seems that you have to replace the background image with something that is a color you want. I don't think that changing the color scheme changes the background image color.
I have encountered this so I tried a hard reset and it worked...
so Try a hard reset and see if this will work for you...
Thanks guys..... I will eventually try the hard reset.

Also, if you would like you can backup everything using Sprite program to back it up so you wont have to reload everything when you do a hard reset on your phone. Let me know if you would like this program.

Yes please......Sprite would make my life easier because there's nothing I hate more than starting over. It usually ends with me remembering the one thing I needed before the reset only to roll my eyes in disgust. I lost some good blackmail material in digital land.....

Post your customized device!

I thought it would be interesting to see what people have done with their devices, now that we can do at least a little bit of customization within WP7. I've seen some pretty smooth looking phones in YouTube videos and around the internet. I'm sure no two customized phones are the same.
Whether it be registry changes, accent customization, theme changes, or whatever, let's see what you've done!
I have mine below, I switch between the grayer shade of blue and the darker red. I can't decide which I like more.

is there a way to add colors to the background where "dark" and "light" are just like one the other color accents we can do right now? instead of going in and changing the default ones alone?
would like to know, thanks
Changing the background color is easy. You just need a registry editor such as this and edit the registry key:
[HKLM\ControlPanel\themes\*\pageBackGroundColor]
* - 1 is dark theme, 0 is light theme
Enter a hex number after #FF, such as #FF40546e for a steel blue.
You may also want to edit these keys:
[HKLM\ControlPanel\themes\*\Basethemecolor]
[HKLM\ControlPanel\themes\*\TextHighContrast]
[HKLM\ControlPanel\themes\*\TextBackGround]
[HKLM\ControlPanel\themes\*\pageBackGroundColor]
[HKLM\ControlPanel\themes\*\SysTrayBackGroundColor]
[HKLM\ControlPanel\themes\*\TextNeutralColor]
[HKLM\ControlPanel\themes\*\ContrastColor]
Playing around with these should teach you what each changes. To see your changes, switch themes from dark to light and then back or vice versa.

yeah thanks that is really helpfull but is there a way to add an extra menu color like when it says "light" and "dark" lets say create a string in the registry to add another drop down menu inside the theme to get one that one makes like lets say "orange" or whatever and change back to those other "light" and "dark" themes without editing them?
just add another one without touching the old ones?
i will try this though, just wanted to know if this was possible before i moved anything

No you can not add new theme ....Just be aware that messing with registry in that level is danger ..Make a backup first

How did you change the page switcher to the Windows logo? Also nice icon switch. EDIT: Is that a different battery icon as well?
BTW, my phone was featured on 1800pocketpc along with part of my tutorial on how to change your phones background color: http://www.1800pocketpc.com/2011/06...-background-theme-color-on-windows-phone.html

3-D Texting!

Hi everyone, forgive if anything like this is already up (I searched and found nothing). But I completely customized the text messaging appearance so that it takes advantage of the pure black that the AMOLED uses.
(This is all using the app: "Handcent SMS")
I downloaded "handcent SMS" went into settings --->custom style--->bubble settings:
Here is where I Changed Conversation style to: Android
Background color: pure black (all colors to zero)
Incoming background and outgoing background to: pure black
(By then everything should be black)
Now this is what makes the effect happen:
I adjusted incoming font color to pure red (255)
Then I put outgoing font color to 138-Green and 255-Blue
I adjusted both fonts to size 22.
I Also noticed that the date font color also helps with the effect and I have mine at 83-green.
So once you have all these setting in place, the pure black and the incoming red font should look like it pops right out at you, while the blue outgoing font color sits in the back!!!
I noticed the effect pops out more outside or whenever theres a more light in the room!
(First write up, forgive if I'm not as thorough as I should be)
Give it a shot, mess around with the colors!
Interesting effect. I do like the glossy black background. Though I found the pure red to be too harsh. I settled on official Android Blue (51, 181, 229) for the incoming text font color.
Will try it out for a few days to see whether it's a keeper.
Update: Making the incoming text font a couple of points larger than the outgoing enhances the 3D effect.

Eh, the red text certainly pops out but I wouldn't say it does so in a 3d kind of way. In fact it looks sort of pixelated to me and harsh to look at. More like it's grabbing my attention by being so stark compared to the rest of the screen.
I think I like your color settings for the outgoing text though, very easy on the eyes. I'm messing around with options for the other color, so far I'm working with max green, mid blue and red.
Still waiting for a screenie

Blue and red colors always appear to have depth on a solid color hence the red and blue 3D glasses. It's an optical illusion but neat if you like that sort of stuff.

Ok so clearly a troll post. Looking at the instructions alone you can tell nothing 3D about it. I'll post a screenshot in 10 mins. Maybe we can get an op to get rid of it.

Ever thought that this effect won't come out in a screenshot because it's an effect of the AMOLED screen or the specifical display?
Ever thought that this is an optical illusion and not an actual 3D-effect and you might just not see it because it is, in fact, an illusion?

Color Calibration. Before / after

Just to share this with you guys..
With every display that I use, I try to have it calibrated and I was trilled that with the nexus I had so much control over the screen!! Never had a phone with so much control
You have here my results.
Just be aware that the "before" is with trinity kernel stock color scheme and I'm really grateful that his market tool and not to forget franco.kernel tool too, made possible for me to calibrate...
I used a 18% gray card to make sure white balance was spot on when converting the raw files into smaller jpg.
I did find that sometimes the changes did not apply so I did a double check by exaggerating the values when making the changes. Contrast was one of them..
On the graphs, the white dotted line is the reference
Only problem with this is that not all screens are the same so these settings will not work for everybody
My calibrated values
tint
red 200
green 169
blue 178
gamma
red 2
green 0
blue 0
disable dynamic contrast
contrast value 0
If you use franco.kernel tool
gamma 1.0
If you like image with more contrast, i would set it between -6 to -10
Very interesting and the before/after photos look good. Is there a problem with burn in?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
Looks a little red for me. Your results look great though.
The improvement in the color of the dog photo is drastic. Trinity kernel does come with the blue really cranked up for some reason. Looking good now.

for whatever reason trinity seems to be giving me better screen color, but im sure I could do the same with franco, anyways, my gamma settings are untouched, I found that modifying the color to these values makes the purple tint go away for me:
Red:135
Green:135
Blue:190
Trinity Contrast -15 to -25
If you look at the calibrated rgb graph, red is a few points bellow reference. And again if you look at the color temperature line it is a little above 6500k. It is normal for first reaction about red when actually your missing blue because almost every screen you are used too has to much blue on it..yet again there's the tint problem on a bunch of nexus too.. if I get my hands on one of them I'll post here the results
Edit: for you "red guys" try to invert the red with blue values
Red 178
Blue 200
BUT keep gamma the same.

Outstanding. I was wondering if using my colorometer would work on the phone. Looks like I have a nice project for this weekend I need to revalidate my HT and PC too so might as well throw the phone in there too :O
Use hcfr and the color swatch app from the Market..
If you get stuck on gamma, don't sweat it too much.. I spent an hour trying to get it right, no luck with this screen. Colors are bang on though.
For those who don't know, 6500k is the reference color temperature. To most people it looks too red or even yellow, but it's what the whole publishing and photography world uses.

or you can install mxplayer,
get from here:

the mp4 version, extract it, goto to:
ColorHCFR Fields folder,
10% Grayscale folder
and use that files with mxplayer.
My gamma is 99% spot on. I go for 2.3x since with amoled screen the black mml is almost zero, you will not sacrifice shadow content and have a great contrast
I don't get it, how you use hcfr with android? I tried but I just can test my monitor (pc) =/ is there a guide or something?
the way I do right now is testing with http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/ and setting manually parameters on phone until it looks great.

Yup, just like you use it to calibrate your HT screen. I run a long usb cable to my PC and use a DVD I burned with an ISO of test screens.
Thanks for the tips on test screens for the phone. saves me the time searching them out
I was searching on web I found that I need a meter, for that is the usb port right? (like spyder2 or EyeOne) mmm I was conecting my phone XD first time trying this tools. Now I understand what all this is about.
That looks that I will be doing this as usual =/ with my only 2 eyes :cyclops: meter XDD ohh wait that's just one of them xDD
well thanks for answer and that pic looks great. Right now I'm on CM10 and config my screen with their "advance" tool and comparing to the webpage I shared. That looks good too but I perceive a little bit reddish on dark colors. Thats so F******* better than blue one XD now looks like Super Amoled plus the contrast is pretty similar to SGS3.

[Q] LED weird colours

is it normal that my LED colours seem to have multiple colours in them.. like example if i set the notification ligth to be orange ( with paranoid rom, but did the same on stock with lightflow) the light will be half light red and the other half will be yellow.. or green and blue if i want light blue.. it seems i have to mess around with the colours value (RGB) to get just one solid colour and not a mix of multiple colours..
this is hard to explain.. so if you know what i mean please let me know.. if not i can take a picture and upload them here!
Thanks
It's my understanding that although it IS an RGB LED, that doesn't necessarily mean that it will be able to recreate every color you could dream of. There's actually another thread here in the S3 section (Forget which part) where people are compiling a list of different Hex values of colors that turn out really well.

thing is is that im using ParanoidAndroid rom, and i dont see the option to add a hex value.. i can only pick a hue and slide the colour around ..
Well, in my experience with that, it seems to have a better color output for the LED if you don't have the saturation all the way up..... Say if you were shooting for a pure red color, have the slider down just a bit from as bright as it can get. Seemed like whenever i tried using that to set LED colors, if i had it all the way up, it had something else mixed in.... generally i think a bit more of a white color to it.
