Those are the files for the battery indicator. My question is why doesnt the epic use all of them? My phone doesnt change the icon from 100% till it hits 80% when its supposed to change at 90%.
Sent from my non-rooted, stock Epic.
Cause the code ain't there and neither is the images. This needs to be added and is why its there on some roms and all the themes

Ok, so it has to do with the touchwiz "2.5" thing right? Cause those are from the framework-res.apk.

It had nothing to do with touchwiz. All android phones are like this.
The codes and the added images have to be added to framework-res.apk
Android Creative Syndicate- From spontaneous ingenuity, comes creative brilliance
Ok, I'm not following you(sorry). These images are already part of framework-res.apk. So are you saying samsung left the images in there, but didn't add the code to enable them?
Sent from my non-rooted, stock eclair Epic.
Those images are what being used. Those are the only images there. If you notice there 20% increments. A themer and rom dev have to write the code and add the extra images.
Android Creative Syndicate- From spontaneous ingenuity, comes creative brilliance
So, basically if I wanted all of them to appear(100, 90, 80,etc) I would have to root, and do some editing? It makes no sense why they would be part of the stock rom, but not be used. Like, for example, I know that the 90% and 80% are the same icon. But the icon doesn't change until it hits 80%, instead of 90%
Sent from my non-rooted, stock eclair Epic.
All those battery images do show. Its samsung fault the way they appear.
Android Creative Syndicate- From spontaneous ingenuity, comes creative brilliance
Ok, cause right now its 49% and look at the icon. Its showing the 60%-70% icon.

Why? Ehh different reasons. I could easily do it, but I really have no reason to. Plus, when people need to know something about a stock epic, I can try and help. Its just the decision I made when I got the phone. I might do it if I upgrade to another android phone is oct., but that would be after I activate the new phone. Also I see too many people with problems after rooting.

Not that I'm a fan of it but i was wondering since android can run on the iphone is it possible to put IOS on the EVO.
No IOS is not open source
Yeah, this isn't a netbook you're talking about. You can't just put an Apple OS on it all willy-nilly.
Seriously, though, I'd bet the trouble would be nigh-insurmountable based on hardware differences. They're using their own CPU in the iPhone, for one, and beyond that I bet they're working pretty strongly to keep iOS from ever being ported like OS X is.
How dare you!!!!! Off with his head!!!

lol this is the second related thread to apple i've seen in the last 24 hours...lol
This thread made me sick to my tummy just a little bit!
the base for iOS is open(ish) source. But to my knowledge no one has tried to take Darwin down to the mobile level other than apple with iOS. In theory it should be able to be done, but that would be the only way to get a port. Hope your up for a challenge.

c'mon guys - outside of the poor taste it leaves in our mouths, the question is legit.
OP-It's highly doubtful that true iOS4 will ever be ported to android - too many challenges. The closest you might get is for a dev to build a theme that makes android look and act like iOS4 on the surface, but it would still be android.
oh yeah - and no iphone app store. ever.
Guys it was just a question so relax and stop the flaming. It probably can be done but there's too much work involved and it would also be illegal. Besides even if you were able to do it the App Store wouldn't allow your phone access so the only way to install apps would be through Installous (cracked apps) which is also illegal.
Android >>>>> apple
Android will be ported because it can and it has high enough demand..
IOS isn't ported because well... No demand <.<

Plain and simple. It won't. Hardware is to different and it closed source. But if you were looking for ios'ish look for the evo check out miui. People argue both ways saying it is and isn't close to ios but from what I see (since I'm a daily user) its pretty damn close. Have fun

So I know that the new version of sense (3.0) is coming out on the amazing new sensation and Evo 3D in the summer. When there is a leak of some type (which I am fairly sure there was one not to long ago http://phandroid.com/2011/04/14/htc-sensation-test-rom-leaks-let-the-porting-begin/ ) would it be possible for one of the devs here to port it over to the original Evo?
Thanks
I'm under the influence that it will not be released because of the hardware drm and sense's ties to renting/buying online in the newer phones.
I'm sure most of it will be ported over though. If not it exactly, then its better features.
Wait, what? What do you mean by sense's ties to renting/buying. Also, I can't understand your last sentence.
Not trying to be the grammar police (I certainly do make my mistakes) but I have no idea what you just said.
Devs are working on the leak from the sensation as we speak...its a slow process atm because the system dump was huge (580ish mbs *versus the largest I've seen at around 190 mbs*). And out needs to be stripped down, if possible.

here is the thread
I just dont see it happening. our "out dated" (read: NOT EVEN A DAMN YEAR OLD) evos just cant hang....
And HTC said via twitter that the sense 3.0 would only be on NEW devices (READ: not yet released) but that they would b e porting pieces from 3.0 back to older devices.
whats on sense 3.0 anyways?
The only neat thing I saw about sense 2.0 was being able to move your screens into different orders. Actually, that was the only thing I saw.
I think that, regardless of what version of sense we get, the devs will definitely put all the cool stuff into their different roms.
NoMoarPowah! replaces that boring charging animation when your phone is turned off but connected to the charger with a fully functional program!
In the history of silly stuff I have made, this is perhaps the silliest
This app is only for a select number of Samsung devices. It does not work on any other devices. See the list below
This app requires a fully rooted device
NoMoarPowah! can automatically reboot into Android when charging is done. Either when fully charged, or when the battery level reaches 15% and Android has enough juice to run.
But wait, there's more! NoMoarPowah! can also reboot at a custom time. It will even suggest times based on your currently set alarms, so your phone will be rebooted just before the alarm goes off and you need to wake up! This way you can be sure nobody will bother you while take your well-deserved nap, but still wake up when you need to.
Tested on the following devices:
- Samsung Galaxy S (I9000) and family
- Samsung Galaxy S2 (I9100) and family
- Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" (P1000) and family
- Samsung Droid Charge
- Samsung/T-Mobile Sidekick 4G
- Samsung Continuum (ticker overlaps)
It half works on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (all models): the functionality is there, but the touch screen does not work in charging mode.
Other devices from the Samsung Galaxy series with a resolution of 800x480 or more may work as well.
Some custom ROMs may disable NoMoarPowah! functionality

Might well be compatible. If it doesn't find the files it expects, it'll just tell you that and bugger off. It's not dangerous to try out.

Swiss Android Rom, also known as SAR, was an envision that XDA member AnAm85 had for a Rom that had additional apps and mods while keeping the traditional Swiss Army Knife look (Red and White). This Rom is red, and features the "Coat of arms of Android" which is a custom logo and wallpaper designed by XDA member AnAm85. Thats why we made it Deodexed, that way if you have a favorite TeAm VeNuM theme, it can be applied!
This Rom was not designed for the best possible battery life, but through testing, it has not been a major issue. Remember to calibrate your battery and wipe battery stats after every new ROM flash. This can improve battery life it its own way.
The Swiss Android Rom is:
-An EL26 Based ROM
-TouchWiz 4.0
-Deodexed
-Red, Black/White Themed
-Themed Apps
-ICS Transitions
-BONUS Apps
-More...

Just for clarification... this was accidentally posted here in dev. We have contacted the mod to have it moved to the more appropriate general section... Once the rom is complete it will be back in dev... sorry everyone...
I love it when people say they will be flashing something before they even know what it is, or before its even released..

Generally the mentality here is that the ROM is coming from a developer or team that is very trusted and has a good track record.
To be fair we do know that it is a ROM... and that's pretty much enough for a lot of people to flash away haha. Flashaholics FTW.
Hey, I agree, Venum does put out some great stuff, no doubt about it!
Agreed. I used the Venum ROM for quite a bit, but now Blazer 3.4 with the ICS theme is just too sexy to say no to for now.

Sup people, id like to introduce myself, I'm a hobbyist 3d artist and graphic designer. "Not so much good at the design part" but for now on im gonna "try" to design wallpapers, lock screens, and Themes optimized for the Nexus 7. I'm not very proficient in coding but I have a friend who both has the nexus 7 and is a semi recognized developer here on XDA. "you probably know him he is the creator of Dandroid" "I actually came up with that name =P"
Here is just a few things I have done "I know not impressive yet" But at least it gives me some credibility to what im saying.

If at all possible since im new here anyone can suggest things that are worth developing for on the nexus 7 id be very grateful.
I know zilch about coding or desinging 3d models but I will say that
a lot of the design work I've seen on here tend to lead toward
embossed, shiny, 3D-like styles. The pictures you posted look pretty decent,
I would like it even more if you had the green in a lighter shade though like
the original androids colour. Anyway this is going a bit off topic but I think it would be interesting to
see how you can merge 3D design skills into things like wallpapers
and lock screens and also into future apps your friend can help you develop.
We have a Themes and Apps subforum for this kind of thing.
Good luck with your wallpapers. And welcome to xda
As you seem to have posted some images already ive moved this thread to themes. If you add more wallpapers to the thread rather than start another it keeps things tidy
