Lousy bluetooth and wifi range - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Have anyone experienced a lousy reception in both wifi and bluetooth?
Cellular coverage seems good, but I can't even use my bluetooth headset (yes, I've tried several) more than 1 m away, the same goes with connection to PC.
When it comes to wifi, I have my old HTC Desire next to my new HTC Desire HD and the signal keeps disconnecting on my HD while the regular Desire keeps a stable connection both with wifi and with bluetooth headset.
I've tried several radios, but nothing seems to help. Any tips?

[Q] hardware or software? hotspot and bluetooth

Hi Guys n Gals!
I have to use my mobile for wifi hotspot with my laptop at home. I used to use my HTC Desire and it was great (except for the speeds, rural area!) So now I have my HOX I was expecting similar of not better performance. However the range is pretty crap, when I´m connecting to a router with my HOX it seems ok, at least the wifi symbol indicates a good signal at distance. But when I connect the HOX to the mobile internet and turn on the hotspot the laptop has to be very close, and even then the strength can be low!
Would this be due to the hardware issue being talked about? has anyone else heard of this issue?
On another note, I have a Sony bluetooth stereo in my van. With my Desire I could send it contacts via bluetooth to set as speed dials. With my HOX it has the same options for sending but it always fails. Would this be due to incompatibility due to the new bluetooth standard or a hardware issue?
One last thing I have to mention. I usually use my mobile to transfer large video files from my laptop to my PS3. when I connected my HOX to do this the first time it just kept connecting and disconnecting, the cable is fine. Anyone heard of this happening?
as far as i know the wifi and bluetoot are in the same antenna/chip. so i think you also have a bad wifi antenna.
if you push on the backside of your x between the camera and the volume rockers it should be getting better. if that is i think its better to return your phone to htc for repair

Thanks, I´m already on the case!

After 4.4.2 update, WiFi drops with Blutooth enabled

I use my GPAD along with a nice bluetooth headset when I exercise. After the upgrade to 4.4.2, I started experiencing wifi connection drops. The only way to reestablish the connection is to toggle airplane mode, disable bluetooth or reboot the tablet. As long as I have bluetooth disabled the connection is consistent but if enabled, the connection drops within 15 minutes. Has anyone else experienced wifi drop outs with bluetooth enabled?

...and have always assumed that there will be a problem when streaming to my BT headset (which I do often) and try and use Wi-Fi at the same time. This happens consistently and so I just tend to no longer bother.
Actually I now use my Nexus 7 (original) just for BT streaming and the G Pad for other use when a Wi-Fi is needed.

[Q] wifi extremly slow

Hi guys,
I have some serious problems with my home wifi.
I'm on ViperOne 3.1.0 connected to a FritzBox 6360 and a 32MBit internet connection.
But I have the problem, that the wifi connection is extremely slow. In the FritzBox web interface the HTC One M8 is displayed with a 1 MBit connection even if I stand right in front of my router with a perfect signal. So I think exactly this is the problem for my slow connection.
After a reboot of my mobile the wifi connection is fine for some minutes, I think till the phone goes to sleep, after that same game again.
I played with the wifi optimization and the standby option in the wifi advanced options but with no luck.
Other clients like my old HTC Sensation or an iPhone 5c or my Laptop are working fine with the wifi, so i believe the phone is the problem not the router.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

Bluetooth + WiFi = Non-working Wifi + Dropped Bluetooth

Alright, so I've heavily tested this with a ton of bluetooth devices and 5 access points, both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz.
When I have both wifi and bluetooth on, with the device connected to both services (both a BT device and an AP) neither radio works. WiFi says connected, but doesn't load anything, can't ping out at all. Bluetooth will find the device, connect, and disconnect within a few seconds.
I tested the same devices but only using one radio at a time and all the BT devices stay connected with WiFi off, and all APs are connected and load data with BT off.
Does anyone know what's going on? I've suspected this to be an issue since 4.0, but it's still around in 5.0.1. It's persistent across ROMs and RUUs, so it can't be a rom issue. Currently I'm on Viper 4.6.1, S-off, SCID (although this happened before I S-Off'd as well)
Does anyone else experience this issue? Any potential fixes?
I run into something similar periodically...
My 5ghz wifi always works no matter what.
2.4ghz / bluetooth will work for 2-3 days... then it stops... no 2.4ghz SSIDs show up in wifi and no bluetooth device will connect... Even turning BT/Wifi/Airplane on or off in any combo. Only a reboot will fix it.
My friend also started having this issue.
I've been all over and no one has a solution. I use an android wear device, so bluetooth is necessary :/

Bluetooth and Wifi do not work simultaneously in S4 Mini

I have a Galaxy S4 Mini, running on non-rooted 4.4.2. I have lately observed a very peculiar behavior. If I turn on my Bluetooth and WiFi together simultaneously, then try to use both of them, for example stream a song via music app or tunein radio or sound cloud via Bluetooth to speakers and the same time surf the web, I observe that the WiFi signal connection as well as Bluetooth connection drops alternatively.
OR If I try to stream a song from tunein radio or sound cloud using Bluetooth, while downloading the very same song/stream via WiFi it causes the same issue. Either I loose Bluetooth connectivity to the speakers or WiFi connection is dropped.
What can be the cause of this happening and what do I do to rectify this issue?
Same problem here. using bluetooth headset, i can't use it watching youtube on wifi connection. rarely has worked for a couple of minutes, but quite always wifi or bluetooth stops working, and if wifi return to work, bluetooth immediately disconnect the headset...
i've also try to install cyanogenmod 13 official, but still the same problem...
