Hey guys thought id share. If you're like me the only reason you use a screen protector is cuz you hate fingerprints. My favorite 2 are the 3m natural view and Steinheil anti fingerprint. Now the 3m one has amazing clarity but still smudges a little. But it's super easy to wipe off. It's kinda prone to scratches. Now if you don't mind losing just a little clarity and not having to worry about scratches or ever, and I mean never ever, having to wipe off fingerprints then Steinheil is the way to go.

I love this one I used this till I found the 3m one then went back to it. Was about 10-15 I think. I forget but I found it on Amazon great buy if you ask me. Just a warning you do lose a little of that captivate clarity so if you're OK with that then this is perfect if not then I say go 3m and if you don't mind wiping a lot then leave it naked cuz nothing is hurting this glass

After trying the Realook and being unsatisfied with the rainbow effect, I tried the SGP Anti fingerprint. IMO the loss in clarity is too much. There are tiny colour speckles everywhere!

this one has no color speckles. its pretty clear it just looks dimmed down let me see if i can take some pictures to show you.
Here's the phone with the Steinheil on. Pretty clear just not quite the same pop as without

sure is a toss up, clearity or smudges, i guess in a way either way its a clarity issue. hmm i think i may look for a stenhil tho. ebay is good for small crap like that real cheap.
you really need the silver speaker mod tho.
Why would u want to cover such a beautiful display?
Use it Dude
I really hate smudges

I had the Steinheil Crystal clear screen protectors before and it was impossible to get the corners and edges to stick no matter how much squeegeeing I did. They weren't cheap either. Currently have AT&T ones and I like them, although there is some rainbowing.
never been a big fan of screen protectors but this may change my mind. thanks!
I've had 3 Captivates now and all have run the simple protectors you can buy at AT&T stores.
They're easily installed and if the screen is cleaned 100% before installation, they are completely transparent - I don't know why anti-smudge is a 'feature', as you don't see the smudges when the screen is ON and if you see 'em when the phone is asleep, wipe 'em off.... Plus, I've never been a fan of the protectors that need to be squeegeed on. I've seen the videos where people are wetting down their screens and that crap just scares me doing it with electronics.
My $.02.
So going to bring back this thread...
I had a Reallook screen protector and well, so called anti-fingerprint >.>
What should I buy for my next screen protector? The SGP anti-fingerprint which I heard is real anti-fingerprint, or the ultra crystal clear for $2 more?
skinomi > all
very good clarity, self heals all the bubbles and **** after 1-2 days of installing, they even have a full body skin you can get for the captivate so nothing gets scratched, good easy grip rubber feel and it comes out of the pocket easy still. smudging is minimal

Same problem here. Normally steinheil are great but i am waiting for my third set in the mail because it wont stick on the edges.
awesome. thanks for sharing.
I use the att ones. Nice and clear. And hard to scratch!

I am using the SGP Ultra Olephobic and love the glass like feel and protection it offers. I hate that it doesn't fit the entire screen. Does anyone know of any wet apply screen protectors that fit the whole screen, DO NOT ORANGE PEEL and do not give a rubbery feel? I also have XO Skins but I just read that they still orange peel even though they say they don't. Also read that Skinomi also orange peels.
I just put on Ghost Armor and it is very nice. Less fingerprints, smooth feel.
Does it orange peel?
I don't believe you'll be able to find a wet sp that rivals the sgp in clarity or smoothness.
I've had the zagg and xo skins and they both suck compared to the sgp oleophobic.
Besides the size, the sgp is the best sp for the gn.
I really do love the SGP I just don't get why they didn't make it fit the entire screen.

Because of the curved screen, dry skins curl up at the edges if they are cut too big.
Has anyone tried the SGP sp with one of their cases, specifically the Neo Hybrid? I ask because I've just ordered the case and was thinking to get the sp to go with it, but I'm put off by all the reports of its lack of coverage of the whole screen. Was wondering how noticeable it is with a case like the Neo Hybrid on.
Edit: pics would be helpful

I'm pretty sure all wet screen protectors have orange peel, but some have more than others. In my experience, XO skins has the least orange peel compared to Zagg and the SGP Flex.

very slight orange peel... you can see it if you reflect a light off it with the screen dark. I cannot see it with the screen lit.
Sorry for the noob question, but isnt this orange peel cleanable? I mean, are you stuck with an orange tinge screen if you decide to peel off? I never used protectors until this phone. thanks!

Uh no its not color. Its texture. The sp looks like the skin of an orange.
So help me understand...if i decide to take my xo skin off, is the phone screen going to feel like an orange skin...? wow
No the screen protector itself gets the texture of an orange peel after a few days. So I guess I should just stick with SGP? Or should I give XO a try?
Their saying if you take your phone into the light and turn it sideways and look down the screen at a angle you will see a textured look like a orange peel on the screen protector. Its just the screen protector.

The xo skin only has minimal orange peel. Some of the other wet skins such as zagg have pretty severe orange peel.
OK thanks, I see...I have xoskin on mine and it looks great. Its a bit tricky to put on though...

personally i LOVE ghost armor feel... the best part is... life time warranty... if it gets ****ed up, worst case scenerio... u take it back and they give u a new one.... plus it doesnt get finger prints so easily... i saw a scratch test for a naked gnex... and it seems to hold up... worst case scenerio u dont even need a protector.... but me personally this is one phone i take good care of considering the real high price tag.... =)
ps i got lucky with ghost armor... i had it on my t989 i requested a warranty exchange, gave them back the old one... kept the warranty exchange with out applying sold my gs2 bought a gnex then went to the kiosk and told them some idiot gave me the wrong one... they charged me 10 bucks and installed a fresh one for a gnex haha SliCknesss =)

Hello,
I have placed order for the Basalguardz Ultra-Clear Anti-Fingerprint screen protectors. What attracted me the most is the very low price
compared to all screen protectors in the market, while still shipping with 3 films and all necessary tools to install on your phone.
Here is the unboxing:

Here is the protector on the phone:
Now, let me jump into the good stuff and bad stuff about this protector:
Pro's
1- Extremely cheap compared to any protector in the market, considering the fact that you get 3 films in one pack for the price of 2 films
by other providers.
2- Brilliant customer services, I only had to contact their head office in US and they set me up with a direct shipping off Hong Kong (As
as living in Middle East and it's way cheaper and faster to ship via HK mail).
3- Above average packaging with proper instructions on the pack and a packing slip for extra assurance that you get the right protector
before opening the pack.
4- Goes all the way to the edges, which is good in the sense that you got your screen fully protected.
Con's
1- The way the screen protector is installed is very weird: Normally other competitors will place "Remove to install" striker on the top on
the screen to allow for a better alignment above the earpiece and front facing camera. However, BasalGuardz decided to place that at the
bottom! Not sure why would that be considered a good idea! I had to remove the protector couple of times in order to properly
align in and end result, alot of dust got in between and my end install isn't the cleanest.
Here is a picture to explain:
2- Goes all the way to the edges, which is bad in the sense that you might have dust on the edges (especially at the bottom) since the
screen is curved and that could cause dust to slip in and screw things up for you!
3- The texture on the screen is very clear yet it feels very sticky and it doesn't necessary keeps the fingerprints off the actual surface,
still catch some oil and fingerprints (not very visible but still not as marketed).
Overall rating: 3.5/5
Would I recommand this? to be hoenst, I don't think so! beacuse it's very hard to align the protector with the peel happeing from the
bottom unless you are really a professional, not to mention that it's very easy to have fingerprints all over it so techinically speaking
they are selling you a product that doesn't do what it's suppose to do!
Let me know what do you guys think. Anyone else used it, shout out your short review!
Regards,,,
Thanks for the review. I would love a fingerproof protector but hate the blurry matte ones. Don't want to waste a bunch of money finding a good one.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Go get the SGP Oleophobic .. brilliant stuff ( still doesn't cover the majority of the screen which may look dodgy sometimes )
I emailed BasalGuardz with my review and this is this their reply:
Thank you.
That placing the tabs at the top was something that we probably need to be doing. It does indeed make it easier with this phone.
As far as the anti-fingerprint. It will certainly greatly reduce the fingerprints without the need for a matte surface, which some people do not like. Personally, I love the matte protectors. Others want more clarity. I just do not like the "sticky" feel of clear protectors.
It will not, however, keep every fingerprint off. It your hands are incredibly sweaty or dirty, then it would certainly not help in that case.
Thank you,

Yeah Trident did the same thing w/ their screen protectors putting the tab on the bottom.. stupidest thing I've ever seen.
You are complaining that they put the tabs on the bottom, really? Just stick a piece of tape on the top and start from there. Tape is a necessity when installing cling protectors like these anyways.
Found this on amazon and thought it looked good. Reviews were ok, but I hadnt seen anyone mention it on here for the SGS3.
Price Paid: $11.99 plus shipping. $17.09 Total
Purchased From: Amazon.com
Specs:
Clear Optic Polyester
Thickness 0.15mm
Oleophobic coating to reduce fingerprints
3H~4H Surface Solidity
Pros:
-Very nice packaging. Very clear and concise instructions.
-Came with screen cleaning cloth and plastic squeegee.
-Comes in a two pack, I installed both on 2 different phones.
-Hard to notice it when installed.
-Initially felt a little tacky, but after a day now, screen feels almost like glass.
-No issues so far
Cons:
-Doesnt come all the way to the edge of the screen, this can be considered good/bad. Due to phone design, these types of protectors have to be cut smaller to not lift off. But I notice the protector is the exact width of the display screen, almost barely "too skinny" (pics should show what I mean)
Overall, Im very happy with it. It fits PERFECTLY with a Casemate Tough. The protector comes right to the edge of the case. So my phone is almost completely covered. There should be no issues at all with the phone case lifting the protector, as they arent touching anywhere.
I did mess up a little on the application on one of the phones, so its not perfectly squared up on the phone, but Im worried I will wreck it if I try to remove it and re-position it.

I used this on my S3 before I got my defender case and went back to Best Skin Ever. This is the best dry protector I've used thus far. I love the fact that it comes with 2 also. I have one more left, some day I may go back to it.
I agree though...this protector is awesome and very clear and I'm not even a fan of dry applications! :good:
I have the same protector on my s3..fit and feel are great, but mine already has micro scratches in certain "high traffic" areas...

At least theyre on the screen protector and not on the screen itself. Also it's only visible under direct sunlight and you have to be really looking for them.
Thanks for the detailed review and pics! Just put in an order for a pack :]

Immediately after installing onto my Galaxy S III, I can instantly feel how smooth the screen protector is; as if there was no screen protector at all my fingers just roll against it. Seamlessly
DBA stays true to what it saids for Just Like Glass, it repels against any oils or makeup etc.
I see no distorion to the touch pannel, nor oranage peel compared to other screen protectors
A truly unique feature of Just Like Glass is how it increase break reiestance to the touchscreen (not willing to try, but I do trust their word)
heres a video depicting how strong Just Like Glass is Just Like Glass
Only cons which are apparent to is:
How at times there will be a rainbow texture when the phone is off in certain lighting (rarely happens),I really do not like it but its not a huge problem - just noting it
Also how it does not fill the whole screen - due to the design of the Galaxy S III curved glass (not DBA's fault), I do relize there is design constrants but I still do wish it filled more the the front surface
In conclusion, Just Like Glass is the best screen protector on the market. There is some flaws but its overseen once you see the dozens of features it has compared to other screen protectors (Zagg,SGP etc. etc.). Just Like Glass is now replacing all ZAGG screen protectors on my devices as ZAGG is not even close to par on Just Like Glass grounds.
Overall I am extremely happy and satasfied with just like glass and reccmond a plunge into this new company as there is no chance of let down

Just like glass the worst product I ever bought
If I could give 0 I would. This product is of pure quality. Yes it probably does what it is supposed to do but adhesion property is terrible, I probably have installed at least 100 screen protectors, so I am not new to this. Yes it is smooth but it is ugly. Terrible fit on the screen, leaves some strange markings after a couple days, looks scratched up as well. Looks like a home made piece of plastic with cheap adhesive. A waste of money, Do not be fooled by some good reviews. This is the worst srcreen protector I have ever used and installed. I went back to steinhill and realized that it feels just as smooth and the build quality is a million times better than JLG. Just like glass is an unfinished product, the edges are terrible and the adhesive they use is low quality. Do not be fooled by the good reviews. I have installed hundreds of good screen protectors and I am not new to this. I asked for a refund and the company said they will ship me a replacement. Is this some kind of joke? I don't want this product. My phone is a Blackberry Z10 the cutouts are not precise, looks like a 7 year old cut it. I don't understand the good reviews.
Have you tried this?

I'm wondering what you guys think is the ultimate screen protector for the Galaxy note 2! I have always used invisible shield but I felt like it would be to... well for lack of better wording "sticky" with the s-pen.
I ordered a Spigen Ultra Crystal and while it is not as smooth for the s-pen as the naked screen is, it is acceptable to me. However, the thing was not easy to get on straight (I am insanely OCD obout that) and I got it on, but i guess it is too low since the bottom wont seal all the way (the GN2 glass is curved?) I don't like that
- The screen protector must be very statically charged because it picks up little particles of stuff like crazy.
- It is also a fingerprint Magnet.
- It doesn't cover as much of the screen as i would like (not a huge deal and it might be intentional because of the curved glass)
So... what screen protectors do use guys like that work well with the s-pen? Preferably between $10 and $60
(also, please no posts about how screen protectors are useless and gorilla glass blah blah)
I'm waiting for invisible shield hd which feels like glass and doesn't distort the display. Running a cheap one for now until that is available.
Regurgitated From My Giant Note II
Phantomskinz and ghost armor are my favorite
Clear protector is just as good as ZAGG HD. They have Note 2 available now.
Think we are going to have a hard time finding a perfect one. I have the ghost armored installed. Way better then the zagg but it is a little soft. Leaving imprints if you push down with your Spen. Might be able work them out by warming the screen up but haven't tried.

Just installed. You want this.
There's two types of screen protectors -- flexible / rubberish like zagg or hard / plastic like this.
You do not want the flexible ones. Pen wont work well with those flexible screen protectors, you'll get orange peel distortion.
You want this. Clear and no distortion.

The install went fine with my spigen and there isn a anything between the protector and the glass but after I installed it dust and stuff would attract to the screen protector. It stopped for some reason now and im pretty happy with it now unless I see something better on here
Thanks for all the replies so far, it seems like there are quite a few good ones to try haha.
Never used screen protectors before, but I have heard that this screen gets many scratches on it very quickly...so, with that in mind, I want a high quality protector...no matter the cost. Is the Zagg HD a hard protector (like recommended for the S-Pen) or is it soft just like all their other protectors? Also, how is the spiegen protector?
