Hi guys
I have Htc Desire Z was running on Cyanogen 6.1.1, I just got into Rom Manager download a another Cyanogen 6.1.1 and flash on top of it.
Now my phone doesn't read or mount ay sd card( I have try 2 different one).
Go to setting- application the sd card unavailable
Connect to pc just USB debugging only nothing else.
I have try format and partitioning the sd card.
So now I am stuck with that I can't flash another rom and run any app that acquire sd card.
Any one help pls.
That sucks. Maybe a bad flash right off top. Possibly try and reflash if all else fails. Goodluck, I've been using my Droid x lately which is a whole different animal as u know. On my incredible the only time it wouldn't read SD was with a bad flash. Post up if u get it fixed I would be interested to hear how this one turns out. Goodluck

try formatting on the PC and see if it works
I remember when using Windows Mobile, it was always recommended to remove the SD Card and SIM before flashing a new ROM. Not sure why and I haven't read anything along those lines for Android, but just an FYI. I would try re-flashing and go from there.
I couldn't flash or do anything without sd card.
It is totally suck man.
Can anyone know how to flash a rom with adb?

I just swapped my old SD for a new 32gb one and all seemed fine until I tried to partition it. It got stuck in a boot loop after and now will not go past it. I've tried reformating it but it stays stuck. If I swap back to my old Sd card I can do a nandroid but the 32gb still wont work.
one difference I've noticed between the old and new is the old (working) card comes up with "no image" when I load into HBoot. The new one does nothing.
Any ideas welcome as I'm far from an expert here.
Thanks
Hi, did you try to use it in your pc? I had the same problem with my 16gb. Try format it in your pc. For me this worked.

I have a mac. I used Disk Utility to format it to MS-FAT, something that has worked with previous cards. I can copy files to the card if i mount it in recovery, but the files are not recognized (I copied a rom across to try and flash it)
Can you format the card in recovery? My mba had also Problems with the 16gb card. I formated it in my camera, after that everything worked well.

Yes I did format everything but it doesn't work ayway.

Try a diffrent sdcard and see if your phone will mount it.
Try reinstalling the rom.

This is tearing me apart!!!!
ESPRIMG not found error is usually fixed by reformatting your SD card, taking care to use the FAT32 format (not just FAT). Format your card and put everything you need back on it and try again...

Im a noob how do i do that.
I can't remember if it works to format the card with it in your phone or if you need to take the card out and plug it into your computer through a card reader .. think it works through the phone.
So plug your phone into you computer and make sure that the sd card contents are available through the computer (you might have to turn on the disk drive setting on your phone).
In Windows you would then right click on the drive for your phone's SD card and select format. Then make sure the format is set to FAT32.

Ok I've rooted every thing but I got a few problems

heres the guide i used....

this is what i want....

If all you want is the official Froyo update then you can now go download it directly from HTC. See the Offical Froyo is out on HTC site! thread.
Note that following that path will remove root from your phone.
If you would rather keep root you have a few other options. There are a few sense rom variants including the one you linked to.
If you already have root and have installed rom manager then you shouldn't have any trouble using that to install a new rom, create backups, etc.
Not sure what your comment about nexus 1 meant? You certainly cannot install a nexus rom on the slide. Did you mean the Cyanogenmod ROMs?

I googled and found this on a other forum:
Code:
I get error mounting sdcard (no such file or directory) and unable to write to ums lunfile (no such file or directory)
Edit: I Solved the problem by rebooting into recovery using rom manager. Thanks.
It's interesting how can be people independent and resourceful if the really want to. Then why we have so many question threads are beyond my comprehension.

Of course i googled before asking this question..
The problem is... I boot into recovery but i cant mount my SD. I used other phones and the card is recognised normally
An alcatel one touch 908 and my previous HTC touch HD.
I'm running Leedroid 3.3.3 Data++ version which means i cant boot without an sd card becouse many things run from the sd-ext partition and of course since i cant mount the SD i cannot even flash again Leedroid or any other Rom.. so i cant simply reboot into recovery using Rom Manager.
But since u told me all this i'm going to simply install a clean CM7 nightly and try to reboot into recovery via rom manager..
USB brick. Search for solution.
My usb working flawlessly. Everything happening had to do only with this specific card
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
As far as I know unable to mount sdcard is part of USB brick.
i can mount any other sd card but this specific one.... and i try to find what's wrong here..
Fire up Android and format SD card with it.

Where the hell did you get that information? The fact that an SD card cannot be mounted is not in the least related to a USB brick, they are two totally seperate issues. You may find that on restoring SD card functionality that you then have a USB brick but it's not necessarily so and it cannot be ascertained without first fixing the SD card issue (and by the symptoms as described I highly doubt he has a USB brick).
To the OP, I would suggest that you copy everything from the SD card to your PC via an SD card reader. You can then either format it via G-Parted (Linux bootable disk) or via MiniDisk Partition Wizard. Copy everything back plus the rom of your choice.
You'll then need to flash the rom (assuming that your phone now 'sees' the SD card). You're going to lose everything that you installed, there's no way around this. The copy back and forth is to restore your music / photos and if you're lucky one or two of your apps may find an existing file of history to restore.
Please also report any messages the phone gives regarding the SD card and also try another SD card (if you have one) before you go the above route.
wierd things happening....
When i boot into recovery with power+vol down i cant mount my sd but if i do it through rom manager it works flawlessly... anyway i kept it this way. I installed a clean CM7 build formated my card and then all the things i do i do them via Rom manager...

what are the recoveries u talking about?
when u go in recovery with power+vol down u access the permanent recovery (what version?); while using rom manager u access another recovery version probably (as rom manager use fake flash, even if the latest version should use permanent flash)
sorry for being late answering..
both recoveries are 5.0.2.0
Hello, I am on an HTC One V running PACman ROM 15.3, with the kernel JmzPrimoC+.
I started having this problem a couple weeks ago. It would randomly unmount my SD card saying 'SD card unexpectedly removed'.
This started to happen more and more often until it would say that as soon as I put the SD card in.
I did a factory reset, which helped for about 5 minutes before it started happening again. Now, more recently, it started saying 'Damaged SD card. SD card is damaged. Try reformatting it.'
I put it in my computer (which doesn't show anything wrong with it), and did a full format. It didn't help at all.
This problem is happening with both my regularly used SD card (SanDisk Ultra® microSDHC™ UHS-I 32 GB (the red and grey one)), and my ordinary SD card (8 GB class 4 Kingston).
I don't think this can be a hardware problem because when I boot to recovery, TWRP recognizes it perfectly.
But I don't either see how its a software problem, because a factory reset should have helped...
Please help me, any help will be greatly appreciated.
Maybe its a bug in the rom?

Hhmmm...
Good idea. What other ROMs work with JmzPrimoC+ kernel? AOKP?
Sent from my One V using xda app-developers app
OK, update, now TWRP won't read the card! Either card!
Now I'm getting really nervous...
Does this mean it must be hardware?
Is there ANYTHING I can do now?
Please help!
Wow, I screwed up really bad.
I was gonna use TWRP to flash a new rom, so I did a factory reset, and then started flashing the rom.
But in middle of flashing the rom it was interrupted. So I rebooted, rereset, and then I realized... it's not reading my card.
I can boot to bootloader and recovery, but that's it. No OS. I'm screwed.
Is there ANYTHING I can do?
Is it possible to flash a rom over USB? Or SOMEHOW get my card working again?
Just enter recovery and use adb sideload to flash a ROM.

But I need an SD card in order to use ADB sideload!
It fails every time because
Code:
E:Unable to mount /sdcard
Is there ANY way to do this without an SD card?
OK, I was able to do it following this guide.
I flashed the latest version of PACman. Still rejecting my SD card though.
I guess it's a hardware issue. Too bad my warranty is void from bootloader unlock :\
Try to partition SD Card in recovery
I am facing same issue and I came across this thread while looking for solution. Here is what I tried. That resolved issue for five minutes and then damn! same issue again but someone can find possible fix using the info here.
HTC One V rooted, currently running MIUI 3.1.2 with JB 4.1.2
Sandisk 8 GB SD Card.
Firmware CWM Recovery
I was facing same issue even before I rooted my phone while Original HTC ICS 4.0 Firmware was installed. MY observation is the problem starts few months after you start using SD Card. (Insert a new SD card in your phone, it will work fine for days / months and then will start giving same error.
While I tried thousand time to remove SD card, clean slot, clean card and reinsert, it did not work. May be worked just once for few seconds. When I tried to connect phone to PC and browse SD card contents, the card was not detected.
Booted to recovery, tried to format card, not detected. Tried to mount SD card, not detected. Then tried to partition SD card in Advanced options in recovery. The available options are 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1024MB, 2048MB and 4096MB. Since my SD card is 8 GB, chose the largest option. Now got an option to choose SWAP partition size. Chose 256 MB. Next chose option fix permissions, you have to wait until you see message permissions fixed message on screen.
Now rebooted phone, and voila! It worked!! SD card with 3.94GB memory is detected. But what happened to my rest of 4 GB?
Tried many apps to manage SD card from Play store. Using an app called APart, was able to delete partitions on SD card and create new ones. It worked for few minutes and then again I got SD card unexpectedly removed message.
Does this info makes any sense? I am not a developer and do not know much into phones but someone who know might be able to help. Buying a new SD card is not an option here because its going to work temporarily.
Have you tried formatting the SD card with your computer?
