I was recently on CM 6 for the slide but then I felt like going back to stock because i missed somethings from it. I wiped everything and then flashed the CR mod OTA rom, in order to have the latest ota.
So i'm having a problem with the phone app force closing. If I am on the phone with someone it would just force close on me and then I wouldn't be able to type with the keyboard unless i restarted the phone. It's kind of strange..
I also noticed a market problem that won't allow me to select carrier billing from tmobile. The first time i went to buy an app, it was going through but then after the processing popup, it just restarted the market and the tmobile billing option was no longer there.
Anyone know how to get this back and how to stop my phone setting from force closing and such? ty.
I am on the same ROM and experience occasional phone app FC's and have to reboot phone as well.
I haven't had such issues, but I've only been using cr's rom for a few days now. Try redownloading and reflashing? Maybe it wasn't a clean download

I went back to stock but it still wasn't there..and i reflashed CR OTA, and the carrier billing is still not appearing.
I'm thinking if i can just flash the froyo market that everyone is getting and see if it can fix it..but idk.
For those of you that saw my thread about the notifications being grayed out, I finally decided to shell out the $5 to buy it on the market. Anywho, last night I bought it and decided to refund it, but then decided that I will just buy it today. Before I refunded it, I had registered and unregistered successfully from the update servers. Today, I bought it, and it will not register. It opens up the pop up that says Registering... Please Wait, but then doesn't do anything. I left it for over a half hour on wifi and it didn't do anything. I tried wiping and reflashing the latest nightly, nandroid restoring, wiping the updater data, everything I could think of, and it still just gets stuck on registering. I can't understand why this worked the first time I bought it and now it doesn't. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could get this fixed? I DID get an update notification of tonight's nightly, which was odd since it was before I re-purchased the app and after I had previously unregistered from the update servers yesterday night, if that gives you any insight into the issue. I paid $9 for push notifications and chain flashing, and the notifications don't even work. Very frustrating. (Also got double charged by google, the "refund" went through despite me cancelling the charge, still have to call bank of america on that one)
Thanks to anyone who can help me.
Counldnt tell ya man, but you might want to ask rom manager developer. They make the push notifications possible after all

It is entirely impossible to contact him, he isolates himself from most everyone except the higher up developer community like wesgarner and cyanogen and those people, unfortunately.
i'm having the exact same problem on my new mytouch 4g.
It's weird, I'm still getting the push notifications even though according to cm-parts, I'm not registered.

I have the opposite problem, I can't unregister, it just hangs. I thought maybe if I unregistered and re-registered it might solve the problem of not getting CM7 nightly updates.

It seems to be buggy. It worked in cm6 for me, maybe I'll grab a logcat and post something in the bug tracker.

Hey guys and gals, I was hoping someone could assist me in solve my problem.
I flashed ICS ROM (NTSH Beta 1) from this forum. I just wanted to see what ICS was all about. It was nice, but decided to switch back to CM7. I restored a nandroid of CM7, but now my data does not work via 3g (it works via wifi though).
I have changed the radio, not but no luck.
I have called *228 and activated phone and roaming capabilities, but no dice.
I have tried different CM7s with stock, aeron (sp), and Tiamat kernels; no go on data.
Flashed back to NTSH Beta 1 of ICS, and still no data.
Called Verizon to make sure everything on plan was OK, and it is
I am at a lose of why my 3g is not working.
Any one have any recommendations on how to get my 3g back?
Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt

You said you tried aeroevans kernel. Which one did you try? .7 bfs is the one you'll need to use for data to work.
Sent from my Incredible 2 HD using Forum Runner
I have tried v0.7 BFS kernel, but data is still not working.
Thanks for the suggestion though. Feel free to give me more ideas.
I think I remember there was an ESN issue that made people swap ESNs inorder to get data to work. I am going to try that if I can find my old Pixi.
Try leaving it on over might...I've had the same problem with cm7 before...or toggling airplane mode. Always worked for me.

Hey,
I had the exact same thing happen. The only solution was to wipe and install a new ROM of CM7, but when you're setting up your Google account, make sure to UNCHECK the box that says "restore my google apps" during setup. Same goes with ICS.. don't restore the apps and you'll have working 3G on ICS as well.
Give the DEVs some time !!! Or Reflash
Its only beta 1. Your not going to have everything you want. I have ics beta 1 and my 3G is wworking but its diffrent for every one. if its that big a deal use a ROM with working 3G and check back in when theres a beta with working 3G. Or you can try to wipe/format your phone then flash ics to see if 3G is working then. If you do try this make a Nano droid Back up just to be safe.

I was able to my 3g working again. Not sure why this fixed it, but I temporarily activated my Palm Pixi via *228. I then activated my Inc with the same methods....and bam, 3g is working now.
I went back to cm7, but the quickly flashed back to ICS beta 1. Can not get enough of ICS.
Thanks to everyone who offered assistance. I appreciate all the help.

Hey all. I'm not new to any of this but I'm having a little trouble. Im running cm 7.1 RC and I just flashed the tiamat kernal. Now I'm getting damaged SD card on the top of my evo. If anyone has a link or a suggestion that would be awesommmme! Thanks

I stopped running CM ROMS a long time ago because I always had so much trouble... I tried a bunch of different versions with different kernels and everything and most of them caused some problem with my SD card...
Either it would never be recognized over USB, or it wouldn't be recognized by the phone or all my stuff would appear to be gone
I'd go back to a Sense ROM and everything would OK.. just my $0.02, wasn't worth the hassle
Thanks buddy. Well I hate sense. Itsqay too slow. Think I need a nexus prime. If it ever wants to come to sprint! Lok

If it happened after you just flashed something, flash your backup before that and see if it helps. Also its very possible your sd card just went bad, unrelated to what you just flashed.
I got that a few times with my optimus v, haven't run into the issue with cm7 on hd2, or on my wifes optimus v, it could be because she only has a 2gb card. I always fixed it by popping the card into a computer copying everything off and format. Time consuming but its the only way to fix it.

Hey guys. I noticed a lot of people, including myself, have been getting the dreaded process com.android.phone force close message upon booting up new ROMs.
This only happens when trying to connect to data. Turn it off, and the force closes stop. Well, I believe I've found a workaround using an APN file I've found floating around on the Carbon ROM thread!
Upon booting, just keep clicking the OK message to skip past the FC errors and the ROM setup process, and then disable your data as soon as you can. Connect to wifi, go to the Play store and install your favorite root browser. Download the linked APN file at the bottom of this post to your phone, and open up your root browser. Copy the APN file you downloaded, then go to system/etc, delete the stock APN file and replace it with the new one. Set permissions to rw-r-r, reboot into recovery, and do a factory data reset. Boot back into ROM and voila, you should be good!
Note that this may or may not fix your data problems, as every phone is different and some of you are on different carriers. This method has been working for me ever since I started doing it a couple of days ago, and almost every new ROM I've installed recently have given me the FC error. That is no more with this new APN, and I even get a better data connection than before. Hope this helps you all!

*****EDIT*****
This method has also fixed my data problems on the new KitKat ROMs as well. Before, I wouldn't even get data on the new KK ROMs, and if I did, 3G would go away and never come back when switching between wifi and data. Replaced the APN, and my data came back stable, even when switching to wifi.

Thanks a Lot !!! Data worked for me on Omni rom !!
Sweet! Thanks. Going to give this a shot now. Was so excited for 4.4 but it COMPLETELY disabled ALL my data (wifi/3G/LTE).
Guess it's time to give KitKat another shot.

Okay, I've been seeing this complaint around the forums recently, so I'll say this.
For as long as I've ever owned a smartphone, 3G/4G ALWAYS turned off for me whenever I was in a phone call, but I could still browse the internet and stuff. Maybe now things are different with this phone/these ROMs, and data is actually blocked when in a call, I don't know. It's not an issue to me, though, because I really don't use data while in a call. So hopefully this issue can get cracked down further for you guys who do.

I can confirm that no matter what ROM I've been on, when I made or received a call, my 4G/3G symbol would disappear, but if I was on 4G I could still access the internet. Not with 3G of course. I'll need to get to a 4G area and test this.

For CM10.2 it works fine. For stock it is fine it just seems to be this KitKat that is a GSM build that is being worked over a bit for CDMA. That is where the problem lies.

One stock my 4G symbol stays as well as internet. On KK I loose the symbol and no data connection. I always confirm that data is actually gone.
Not sure if you've all seen this but apparently it's going to be fixed soon.

I wonder if this has to do with our builds coming from the nexus 5, since it is a tri-band LTE device. It does not have the capability to be connected to LTE and CDMA at the same time. Are there any radio files we are grabbing from the nexus 5 that might be causing this behavior to occur?
Check out this article, it talks about the inability of the tri band devices to be connected to LTE while using voice/text:

Sorry for belated update, worked like a charm for me.!
Confirmed to work. I did NO factory data reset or even rebooting. FCs just immediately stopped after replacing file. Proof enough for me.
What's the cause of this?

This did not work for me on the AOSP 4.4 ROM either. I have tried several times and still get force closes. I am running fine on CM10.2 though.
Does this fix the issue with switching between 4G to 3G? While on the Omni rom, if I'm connected to 4G and it loses signal, it doesn't connect to 3G. Or, if I want to turn of 4G and only use 3G, it never connects.
For some reason, when I put it, the system just disregards it. It says successfully deleted and pasted too. When I delete the old one and paste the new one it says "Do you want to overwrite?" even though the old one is gone. Anybody got anything?
