[Q] Movie playback (on phone) problem. can anyone verify?

Hi all,
I have an unrooted unbranded Desire on latest firmware.
When I record a sample 30 second HD video it plays back on the computer fine.
However, when I try to playback a HD video from the gallery on the phone it stutters and plays very badly the first time. If I play it again immediately it is perfectly smooth. It's like it has cached it the second time so it plays smooth.
Can someone check this on their phone and tell me if perhaps it's just my card speed (class 2). I think it may be the card because of the fact it only stutters the first time like its trying to read/play at the same time. On second playing it's fine.
any feedback would be great. thanks alot!!!
Would anyone like to try and replicate it? just record a 30second HD video and play it back on the phone. Is it smooth on first playback or does it stutter.
I think it might be the memory card, but don't want to shell out 60euro on a class 4 unless I'm mostly sure. thanks alot
Myself and others have been experiencing much slower SD card speeds in Froyo than in Eclair. See this thread and this one. I think that your problem could be related, and if so buying a faster SD card probably won't help.

[Q] 720p Recording Sound Cut-offs

Hi all,
After upgrading my HTC Desire to 2.2 Froyo I was very excited about HD video recording. Done few shots outdoor, indoor then when I played it back on my pc the video was ok but I had like cut-off on the sound. Checked on different computers with different soft and same thing on all of them. Someone said my sd card is not fast enough (samsung 4GB Class2). Gone to shop and bought 8GB Transcend Class 6. Now it's hard to say because I still have same problem Now I have less 14 quid in my pocked and still cannot use my phone to occasionally record video. I don't expect brilliant quality from it, all I need is to record and maybe upload in youtube. It is very frustrating - dialog sounds like: "Hi ...ow you ..ing? Woul.. you go for a ..."
Does anyone have similar problem?
Can somebody help me?

HTC Desire Choppy Video Playback

Hi all,
Lately I've been noticing a brand new problem When playing a video I recorded using my HTC Desire it's very choppy and laggy. I am using custom rom LeeDroid V2.2F. Is there anything I can do to solve this problem ? I have some videos I managed to take a while back and they seem to be ok but lately all videos are becoming laggy and choppy.
could be yr memory card is quite full. Also ensure that no much background apps are running when playing back/recording video.
Lagging sometimes happens while recording 720p videos.. try recording in wvga mode n see if the problem persists..

[Q] video recording performance.

I'm running cm7 rc1 with savagedzen 009. Recording without too much motion and action is fine but recording in my car when I drive causes the video to lag behind quite a lot. This is using the HQ setting in the video recorder in cm7. This is a nasty issue since the longer the video the worse the syncing issue is. I'm using a class 6 SD card
Would a higher class card fix it or am I sol?

[Q] HD video recording - audio sync problems

As a HD video recorder my Galaxy W is not fit for purpose
If I record videos longer than about 60 seconds, the audio and video start to get way out of sync. I don't think it happens gradually - the sync usually goes out after a short glitch in the video. With each glitch, the video falls further behind the audio, and it never recovers - it just gets worse and worse.
I see the problem when recording to either an external SD or the internal storage, so it's not an SD card speed issue.
The problems go away when I record in a lower resolution (480p is fine), but one of the reasons I bought the W was for its HD recording capabilities!
Does anyone else have this issue, or is it just me?

I didn't check this problem in Recording, but i found the similar problem in playing 720p video. After a few seconds the audio is out of sync.
I thinks its purely a software problem, and future update will resolve this.
Currently i have 2.3.6.
Thanks
Yeah, it's not just a playback problem - if I transfer the videos to my PC the same glitches and audio sync issues are still there. I think I'll try and report this to Samsung if I can bear the pain of negotiating their support website.
Sometimes I also experience this when recording 720p video to internal storage, but no problem when I record to external microsd class 10 card. I assume this because when I did benchmark the internal storage writing speed only about 5MB/sec while the external storage reaches 15-17MB/sec on writing speed. What class is your external micro sd?
As for playback sync issues, I did not experience it either...
That sux. I havn't looked it up on my phone yet, but I really need my camera for recording this weekend. So It better not be that problem on my phone.

My external card is only class 4, but I naively assumed that the internal storage would be up to the task even if my external card wasn't. Looks like that might not be the case. 5MB/s - is it really that bad? If so, that's seriously crap.
I noticed the same with internal SD
Did not yet make HD video's using external SD. Hopefully that will resolve it.
Csn galaxy fit record hd videos to about 480p somehow as its having a powerful 5mp camera...?? Plz help me .. I need to record hd videos with my fit these vacations
