Hi, I'm trying to download from an https website (a website with a secure login and password) but every time I try to download a document the browser screen turns white. Has a fix been found for this?

P.S. I've tried xscope, dolphin HD, and the default browser.
Have you tried long pressing and choosing : save link as....?

Just wondered if this happens to anyone else, I cant download from any file share sites via my phone or any external link for that matter. I can only download from the market and attachments in forums.
Am I missing a setting somewhere or does this happen for everyone :-(
Same here, i cant seem to download from any fileservers except a few like megaupload. All the others give me a 'download unsuccesfull'. Anyone?
Are you guys using the stock browser ?
If yes, then try using a different browser to name few ( dolphin HD, Firefox, Opera)
If still doesn't work then make sure you have a astro file explorer or some sort of app like that which will recognize the files you download.

Yeah this problem happens when using the browser that comes with the phone. So use another browser for downloading from file share sites. I use Opera browser.
I really feel like a NOOB asking this. But I just can't get it to work. How do you download correctly from fileshare sites like filesonic, megaupload, and rapidshare using the phone. I have tried the default browser, dolphin, skyfire, and opera. I even enabled "dowload of all files with browser" in Astro File Manager.
But no matter what all I get is small HTML or BIN files. Does anyone have any clues?
It's fiddly but works for me using X-scope browser.
Use opera mobile browser [not mini]. Some fileshare sites dont work for some reason. Mediafire and megaupload are the best. Avoid rapidshare. Pages dont load properly. Filesonic, duckload work. Hotfile sometimes. Good luck

Thanks for the responses. I was sure I read something somewhere, that would make it work with the default browser. But no luck here.
Hey guys, I am having a problem opening web sites that are not bookmarked on my phone. I have tried using both stock and Opera Mini. Stock browser will just kick me out of the browser and back to my phone, and Opera will give me an error that says server something or another. Any Ideas??

I have a few browsers installed as well as Plume for a Twitter client.
It's starting to irritate me that every time I open a link to a Twitter page it asks me which app to use (and Plume is never in that list). I choose Browser and then Always. Then it redirects to a second URL, where it asks me again... In total, 3-4 times I choose Browser and Always. Then I finally reach the page.
But the OS doesn't seem to care that I selected Always, because I can try the exact same link again and once again I have to go through eight taps to get the page.
Anyone else experiencing this? Any possible solutions?

Hi,
i wanted to use the popup browser but i don't know how to set it. I can see when i'm on XDA app and i click on a youtube link, there is the choice with Popupbrowser, stock browser and youtube app. I would like to do this with my favorite internet pages.
Is it possible and how?

Ok i got it. You have to install another browser and then when you open your favorite page, it will propose to choose between all the browser.
