** Updated to v1.1 **
I've put together a basic Metamorph theme to add blue to the standard Android look. It should work with all current versions of CM5.0.7-DS as it does not touch critical framework files such as services.jar.
I have also themed the ADW.Launcher to match Cyano-Blue which can be downloaded and flashed through recovery.
Some changes:
- status bar
- status bar icons
- most original orange highlights changed to blue
- spinners
- battery monitor
- notification background
Cyano-Blue v1.1 for stock CM5-DS (install using Metamorph):
sd_Cyano-Blue-v1.1-CM5-DS_stock.zip
Cyano-Blue themed ADW.Launcher for CM5-DS (flash through recovery):
sd_Cyano-Blue_v1.1-ADW.L.0.7rc1.zip
Instructions:
1) Nandroid Backup
2) Install Metamorph theme file on stock CM5-DS
3) Flash themed ADW.Launcher through recovery *optional*
The first 3 screenshots show Cyano-Blue v1.1 on stock CM5-DS. The last 3 screenshots show CM5-DS running with themed ADW.Launcher
Thanks,
Wondering if this theme is generic and also working on the vanillaeclair ROM and ADW launcher?
Like your modifications.
I've built this around CM5-DS. I'm not sure if it'll work on vanillaeclair. It should if the framework for it and CM5-DS are the same. If the framework for vanillaeclair is similar to Donut ROMs then it won't work.
Is there any way you could remover the notification bar background? I love the rest of it but the background is a little too much=p
Or just tell me what files to change in the framework-res.apk...
In framework status_bar_header_background.9.png is for the background where the carrier is listed in notification area. status_bar_background.png is for the empy space in notification and statusbar_background.9.png is the top status bar.
its working finally
but i prefer stock notification bar... :>
nothing - please delete this post, i'm an Idiot
I should be releasing a v1.1 soon. Just waiting to see what @anderwebs is doing with his ADW.Launcher. I'm thinking of making a metamorph version for stock CM5-DS with a themed ADW.Launcher flashable through recovery rather than two different metamorphs.
Here's a few screen caps.
thats great idea!
im waiting
but could U make a version, with stock notification bar ? :>
Cyano-Blue now updated to v1.1.
Some people have requested the stock top status bar. Here is a metamorph file to restore only that after installing Cyano-Blue theme.
stock_CM5-DS_statusbar.zip
how apply this one ? via MM ?
cuz in recovery is verification failed... (no signature).
EDIT:
in MM app cant apply framework-res, which takes forever... -,-'
could U make this theme to apply via recovery, like last one ?
The theme file for the stock CM5-DS is a metamorph file and cannot be flashed through recovery. The reason I use metamorph is because it can be installed on any version of CM5-DS. If I build a recovery flashable version then I have to build one for each new version of CM5-DS and that's a lot of work since there has been a lot of test versions lately.
It can take a while to install framework-res through metamorph as it's replacing almost 400 files. I have done a lot of testing with metamorph and CM5-DS-test7 on my Dream without problems.
If others have problems installing the theme I might make a recovery flashable version once CM5-DS goes stable.
so today just came out the stable version of CM5.0.7 -> http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/index....magic-mean-lean-pastry-machine-v507-05252010/
could u make now this theme for recovery (and stock status bar :>)
tnx lov u
I'll see what I can do. It might not be until sometime over the weekend as I'm short on time this week.
that's fine
i'm just happy U'll do it
hey how's Ur work for this recovery flashable theme ? :>
hey dm-digital, what weather widget are you using on those screenshots? can you give a link to the apk?
Can this be used for cyanogen 5.0.8?
Should I be able to take the framework-res.apk from one ROM and put it in to another ROM and then flash the entire ROM? Because I just pulled one from an Azrael ROM and put it in to an EViO ROM and flashed it and I still had all the same notification bar icons, etc.
Not a good idea. Check out the theme forum to learn how to theme. There is a lot of good stuff in there. And the notification bar icons are usually stored in the individual apk's, not the framework.
In a sense ROM, a lot of the icons are in the com.htc.resources.apk instead of the framework-res.apk. That should get you there, everything should be fine as long as both the transplant ROM's have the same base.
Hey... This thing makes phone calls too!
You have to wipe your dalvik anytime you change something like that
I flashed MIUI, then applied the theme I wanted, Elite Pro HD. I wanted the SCB battery mod as well, so booted into recovery and flashed the one I made of only the battery mod, however after uploading the framework-res.apk file in the kitchen it removed practically all themeing in MIUI after reboot. After I do that, it will not allow me apply any new themes. Some icons change but nothing else, the dock icons, fonts etc all stay stock MIUI and I can't figure out why so any help would be much appreciated. Would love to be able to somehow implement the SCB mod into the theme or just make them work together.
it sounds to me like you will have to learn how to make custom frameworks if you want it all working together.
my suggestions:-
choose whatever battery you want on UOT - make it for any rom, doesnt matter you only need the files.
decompile the UOT framework - take the .png's for the battery and .xmls that control them
decompile your already custom framework - copy .xml's and .png's from the UOT framework over to it.
compile framework, add it to an update.zip and sign that.
you might want to search xda if you dont know how to do any of the above, all the info is available here
EDIT: looking at that theme it already has a percentage battery, if the .xmls are the same as UOT you could just replace the .png's in the original update and re-sign

Kitchen removes nothing. if u cooked file from your rom, so u get everything stock.
U should cook framework-res.apk from the theme's zip.
I want to change back to the stock notification icons for 4g/Signal bars/Wifi etc on my rom.
Is there any simple way to do that? i tried replacing the framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk with the ones from a base TW one.
I can't seem to get it done. Any help?
Is it possible to get the cyanogenmod style quick settings pulldown on a sense based rom? I love the look of cyanogenmod but I cant live without sense so I'm on a voyage to get a sense rom to look as close to cyanogenmod as possible.
The status bar (where quick settings is) is in the framework-res.apk. You could replace it with cyanogenmod framework-res.apk but you would more than likely have a lot of issues. There is a thread around here with a bunch of the sense apps that you can install on a cyanogenmod/gpe rom, like the camera and gallery and such. If you're brave you can backup your rom and then go to system/framework and replace the framework-res.apk with that of a cyanogen rom and set permissions then reboot and see where it gets you. I've never done it myself so I don't know what the outcome will be, but I don't recommend doing it lol could be highly detrimental.
