Currently running Oxygen Gingerbread ROM but miss the browser from the original Sense ROM. The main thing I miss is wrapping after ptz and certain sites won't zoom in on the stock.
Is there a way to either change these settings or use the HTC one? Tried Dolphin too and still can't zoom in on text on certain sites.

Try nsa gingerblack rom
Is that a stripped down Sense ROM? I might give that a go, thanks. Would like to keep 2.3 but might be worth swapping, unless Bluetoothvoice dialling doesn't work in it either.

So it seems the HTC browser ignores the user-scalable tag for sites and seemingly is the only browser to allow zooming on mobile sites
Cyanogenmod has reflow after pinch to zoom in gingerbread. Time to change rom.

In oxygen you can ptz and then double tap on the screen to reflow.

Hi guys,
I really hate this T9 dailer thing what you get when you click on the phone shortcut in Sense. Is it possible to link this to contacts or even replace the whole dialer with the Android stock one?
Some of you may ask yourself why I hate it.
Reason 1: you dial people by mistake like all the time
Reason 2: you are unable to hide Facebook contacts
Reason 3: the call list is integrated and I normally need longer to find a contact I called before because he's not where you look for him.

Nearly forgot to mention that I am on a rooted HTC Froyo ROM.

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anybody knew of an app that would switch the user agent of the browser depending on the type of data you're receiving? For instance, any pages rendered whilst you're on 3G or HSPA+ would pull up full experience desktop pages while if you were on Edge, you'd be automatically redirected to the less data-intensive mobile page?
If this were baked into some alternative browser that would be awesome to know too.
Thanks in advance guys
Well it doesnt go by the moobile connection your on but dolphin browser gives you the ability to switch between different user agents... (Plus wouldnt that be annoying if you were in an area with inconsistent coverage?)

Miren browser is the best to quickly switch user agent.

i cant even find the user agent setting in gingerbread -- cm7 #51 build. Where is that hiding at?
Type about:debug into the browser window then back int browser settings

Had my HTC Desire for around 6 months now always wanted to root it but never had a real need for it, Then last night i thought sod it go for it rooted it with unrevoked would't work through windows but worked 1st time on linux
Im now running the latest oxygen rom it's alot quicker and better on battery life. Only problem is that i know to is facebook does not push notification it only picks them up when i manually run the app, is this normal for this rom? does it auto kill processes to keep speed up and battery usage down?
I have also updated the radio to 32.54.00.32U_5.14.05.17
never seems to drop below 3g at the moment (only tested for a few hours) i get HSDPA 80% of the time were i live
Speed Test Results
557kbps Download
333kbps Upload
alot better then before were i got around 240kbps down and 190-220kbps upload
Grate forum you have here don't think it would have been possible to root my Desire without it, So many thanks to all the developers and forum users
PS Brought the XDA Premium App
AFAIK there are no push notifications in the FB app.
Also ensure that you have "WIFI" always on ticked to ensure wifi doesn't go to sleep.
Yep, as said I've never seen any push notifications on the Desire in any version of Android. I'm running the MoDaCo 2.3.3 (GRI54) ROM and still don't get any
Sorry I think I have put it wrong I mean I get no notifications from the Facebook app twitter app is ok though

Read above...
Facebook app has no notifications on android. You only get notified once you open it. Not sure about FB chat though...

HTC Sense will give Facebook notifications, but Oxygen, or any other AOSP ROM will not, as it is not 'part' of the OS.
The refresh setting in the Facebook app refers to how often it will update the feed. You can still be notified of Facebook messages, wall posts, etc., through Gmail.
O right that's cool just didn't know if I had a problem that was all

See if the browser you use has a 'User Agent' option, if it does, change it to desktop or something. that will disable mobile veiw.
-Nipqer
It just use almost any third party browser, they pretty much all have that option
I use skyfire, and they have the option to change right in the toolbar.
Most every non-stock browser (Firefox, Miren, Dolphin, Opera, etc.) has the option built in to set the User Agent string to desktop.
The sense browser won't work on non-sense phones.

I use dolphin browser and most of the time it displays the real content of the page.
Thanks opera has the option

Skyfire is a good choice for you because its default is NOT mobile view, so you would not have to change anything, just install it from market
I'm pretty sure at one time most, if not all phone numbers I saw on my phone were clickable, including those in dolphin Brower and the email app. I've not had that functionality for quite a while and wonder if it's a false memory or maybe a HTC sense thing? (Please don't say I've got to go ics/jb) Currently running mw cm7 v8
Thanks
