I've got a custom rom on my phone (ultimate 7.2) and it looks sweet, but, I want to change the colour of the bubbles in the text messaging app to match the rest of the phone.
Anyone point me in the right direction?

Ok. I have been trying to find this for days.
I need to change the color of the text message in the bubbles. The color of the time stamp doesn't matter as much to me... but the message body is what matters.
I think the color is declared in twframework-res.apk\res\values\colors.xml as "tw_color002". That displays black text.
BUT
I can't find anything in anywhere that makes sense to mod that string to a white text. Any help anyone could give me would be amazing. I have been stuck trying to change this for about 5 days for my current rom theme.
Anyone have any thoughts?

This is one thing I've wanted to know for the longest time as well. I know how to change the bubbles and background. But the text color is something I've not be able to do.
I am back on this. It is not tw_color002. If anyone knows anything about this it would be hugely appreciated.
I am not sure if this is in the right spot but it said Q&A so thinking its a good place to start. I am looking to find out if I can change the status bar icons to be colors. I amd running [JB:CM10:HYBRID][OFFICIAL]ParanoidAndroid 2.55 for T989[18 Nov 2012] (Love it btw) so I guess the best way to word this is I use go sms pro for txting and the icon that comes up when I get a txt is a very nice noticable green color and I know I have a txt in a quick glance, I also have the facebook app and when I get a notice from facebook its a white and so are my mail and all the other icons so it is hard tell the diffrents between them. so I was wonding if there was a way to change this or if there is a mod for it. if anyone needs more info I am happy to post it. Thank you
If you would like to modify some of the notification bar icons you would have to modify some images in the system framework of your phone which would be difficult if it's your first time.
The easier way to change them, is that since you're using a CM10 ROM you can try out some CM10 Themes from the Play Store. Click here to view all of the available themes.
All the themes will help you change the overall look of your phone, that includes the notification icons. You will just need to apply the themes with the Theme Chooser application. Cheers!
Title says it all I'm afraid. I'm using the stock TW UI & the email app with the black background inbox is infuriating me.
Is there a way to invert the colours or change it to anything but grey writing on black background?
Currently unrooted but will root to be able to read emails in sunlight.
Always a way, you will need to rooted. I do have other request for making it better to read, problem is. I don't have the apk and don't use it. Ide need the apk

Attachment 1 is how i have my dialler themed (all black background) -
I cannot for the life of me find the .png i need to change to make the call log and favorites adopt this same format (attachment 2,3)? its a blue/black mix and i want it swapped out - would also love to change the text to ICS like the rest of my APKs
anybody able to help me?
Also, if you look in attachment 4 - how can i change the white writing at the top right hand corner to ICS blue (everything on my phone is themed to be all black, ics blue text)
Im comfortable with editing RES, Xmls and ADB and im running Android 4.3, PA 3.97 (no theme engine) on an S3 international variant.

I am trying to change the background .png from stock To match the my theme. I am using DarkLord v2.2 as my ROM but I have went through and made the changes I want and have themed it the way I want. This is the only thing I have left (for now) that I am trying to change. I want to replace the call id (for contacts or callers that don't have a picture) to match my theme. Any help would be really great. I am on Android Lollipop 5.0.1. Thanks!!
