That is so ridiculous. We all know the EVO is the best smartphone out right now, and mine is rooted with Myn's rom, and I love this 4.3" beauty. **** the 3.5" iPhone4, but I do like a couple of the notification sounds on the 4.2 release. Doesn't mean I want a hand job from Steve Jobs or anything.

I have notifications from BlackBerry, ringtones from a Moto Razr V3 and Windows mobile, and various alarm sounds.... Not to mention Devs incorporate all sorts of “non Evo” sound files into their Roms.

I have never seen it run smoother in my life. Holy crap.
To be fair Touchwiz is, well, cheezy as hell...but...I like it more than Sense, which I also hate. It's more stock-like than sense and nowhere near as fat....too ugly looking though.
I like Touchwiz (I'm also a big fan of MIUI). Even if it's a rip-off of iPhone, it's still Android we all love.
I have everything set up to my standards and am just trying out touchwiz. The folders help now. I just hope we get the ability to do a little more. I am just letting it charge now.

Yeah it was, I sold that damn phone within the first month of owning it, ended up buying the EVO 4G, what an upgrade lol.
Look for a way to get into a developer group so we can get this thing rooted and make it usable. I'm way to use to having a rooted device.
i know touchwiz 4.0 or at least i think i do, is hardware accelerated so i think if you install a third party launcher you lose some of it.

Perhaps LP uses those same hooks (I though it was all UI elements via the existing UI API). Launcher pro is so smooth that I don't even care if it isn't accelerated (which I think it is).

Popped in my 16GB SD card, installed ADW Pro Launcher and Handcent. This phone is crazy fast.
Came from an Epic 4g, and this is my first all touch phone. I'll say with the giant screen size, my sausage fingers do quite well and rarely make a mistake. First thing I did though was pop in a 16gb card I had floating around, reinstall most of my apps, and then set it up how I wanted it. I actually don't mind Touchwiz 4.0 at all.

hmmm not yet...i have played on track so far though and my current thoughts are that the Nexus speaker is extremely quiet compared to the S2....also is anyone any good with facebook integration? it seems totally broken on this nexus...it may just be because of pre release software though
That's a damn shame. I'm coming from the HTC Sensation, for which the speaker volume is decidedly anemic. This better not be a trend amongst phones :\
I wish I could be of service in terms of Facebook integration. I'm assuming you mean integration with your Contacts and stuff? Aside from removing/re-adding it in the Accounts & Sync settings, I'm not sure what options you have.

Errrrm Screen seems really nice...but coming from an S2 doesnt really seem that much of a step up. I do like it though. Feels lovely in the hand...and wifi seems good and stable. No idea on battery yet. will keep you posted

atrix display is getting pixelated upon a closer look ...grainy or any thing u call it..

Hmmm what kind of earphones are you using? I only ask because I left my "top end" sennheiser earphones at work....so I decided to try the samsung pair that came with my Galaxy Note, my sennheisers just got totally blown away they're that good.
Anyway in answer to your question output is louder on the Galaxy S2....but sound quality on them both is very similar hope this helps

I see alot of theads being closed constantly, kinda hampers freedom of speach. Please dont ban me, I just think you guys need to step back and take a breather sometimes before jumping on the close button.
All this time could be put into making my LIVE wallpaper switching program, I have money and google. But I would rather pay than google how to script that out.
Most of the thread being closed have dedicated threads in the stickies sections.

Yes, some moderators can come off as arrogant. I can see their frustration as the threads get bogged down with the same questions over and over again. Although, they need to accept their position as moderator and not allow their frustrations to spew onto others. Lesson... Read, read, read... Your question has been answered 99% of the time. Especially in development threads. The same question asked repeatedly can slow down development, because instead of working on improving the device, they have to answer the same questions 50 times.

Know them, follow them. They are in place for good reasons and frankly, IMO i think most forums could be moderated much heavier. The fact is, 4 million users cannot all be moderated so we just appreciate the work we get from our mods, regardless.

Is it just me or is K perry a dog. I guess the appeal is shes just ugly enough men think they got a shot at her, which makes her more attractive in their minds? Id rather get hep from Pam Anderson any day of the week.

I was really in the mood to check out some raunchy phone porn at www.xxxda-developers.com but I've found that the site is down. Bit of a bummer. Anyway just thought I would bring attention to the issue and see if any developers here knew about it. Is there an ETA on bringing the website back up again?

Yes the site is currently down due to the front end server known as Wendy 1331 being overcome by too many members logging in. Wendy frequently goes down all the way and the back end server also gets choked by exceptional flows. The admins will reboot the system soon, as they are sick of having members' issues rammed down their throats.
A re-opening party will be held at the site offices at 10PM. Please do not come too soon as we have exciting preparations to do. At the inaugural opening of our slick portal we had a fancy dress party. I was going to dress as Super Woman, but I was so excited I forgot and came in my pants.

Oh yeah, the USB port is removed and ready to connect. I like that floppy ribbon cable. Something about the "vintage" look just does it for me. That 4-rail battery terminal is enough for any pads. Let me know if you wanna power that thing up, I've got some juice right here.

The CDMA variant is a bit too chunky. I prefer the curves of the GSM version.

What are your thoughts on extended batteries? I personally find them too much of a handful, and any more than a handful is a waste.
