Hi,
how can I upgrade my memory card (original from DHD, 8 GB) to 16 GB?
I've tried back up all contains from the 8 GB to my computer, then restore
it to the 16 GB, but the files don't appear on my file explorer (astro).
Can someone help me?
Thanks anyway...
That's how I'd normally do it too. You can try to put the 16 GB card in the phone, then fromat it from Android, then copy all your stuff back to it.
Put all the files off your old memory card on your computer.
insert the 16gb card into your phone and format it.
Transfer all the files off your computer onto the 16gb file.
That worked for me

i want to ask if i change a new memory card , after i format it to fat32 wat should i do next ? my friend done this but the phone still cant detect the sd card .. any solution ?
The phone should detect it after it has been formatted. If it's not detecting it, then something has gone wrong with the card or the phone. I suspect a dodgy card.
Really, all you have to do is this:
Backup your old card
Format your new card
copy the backup onto new card
That's all it should be, unless you're using A2SD or soemthing.
If you have multiple partitions, if you are using A2SD, then you might need something epic like Clonezilla to literally mirror the structure of the old SD card onto the new card. If after a format of FAT32 and the card isn't detected at all, then as the previous post said, the card is probably dud.
i going to buy class 10 8 gb memory card .. does it make the phone load the file faster ? or i juz get class 4 16g better

A2SD transfer the easy way for users
1 - create a nandroid backup of everything (this includes the A2SD ext partition)
2 - backup EVERYTHING from the mem card to your pc!
3 - insert new mem card
4 - run rom manager (download it from the market if you have to!)
5 - partition the new card with rom manager (creating an ext partition as well)
6 - Copy everything from the pc BACK to the NEW card!!!!
7 - Restore the nandroid backup!!!!!!!!!
You now have the phone back to the exact state you started with but with a different memory card installed!
buffer size 8kb
Data size 10mb
Write : 5.27mb
read 12.72

So I'm planning on buying a bigger MicroSD card soon (16gb) and need to transfer my current data on the 8GB card that came with the phone - what app would you guys recommend to get the job done?
I'm going to assume that by "app" you mean an application for your G2. There aren't any apps. How do you expect to copy the data from one sd card to the other without being able to insert both SD cards at the same time? Just copy the data to your computer, insert the new sd card, then copy the old data from your computer onto it. Its that simple.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 running Cyanogenmod.
take the memory card out and put it into a full sd card adapter then xfer it by plugging the sd card into a memory card reader.
that would speed up the process quite a bit.
when my wife went from 4 to 8 gbs we just plugged the phone in and pulled the stuff off put the new card in and copied it back over...
Hello,
I just bought a 64 GB Sandisk Micros SD card. I plugged my phone into my computer and copied over all of the SD card contents, i then removed my 32 GB SD card and put in my 64 GB card into my phone reconnected it via USB then transferred everything to the 64 gb card. All other items show up ( music, photos, etc.) , however app will not show up. It just shows the missing app icon. If i use the file explorer on the phone i can see the app. I tried restarting the phone, unmounting and remounting. Can someone please help with why the apps are not showing up or if i missed a step. I am running a ATT Note 4 on 4.4.2.
Thank you in advance i have searched all over the internet for an answer for this.

Did you copy all of the HIDDEN files too??? Look here for the solution http://www.tomsguide.com/forum/id-2545604/move-data-card-samsung-galaxy.html
I have a 16 Gb SP Class 10 MicroSD card and it was used on a Lenovo phone for long. It still has information on it, and about 10 Gb free memory. Here is the interesting part - I can copy from it on my computer. I can copy files on it - BUT !!!! - after eject it from the computer or a phone, all the files that were copied on it - ARE NOT THERE ANYMORE! Only the ones that were left from the phone can be found on it. Secondly - the compter and other phones cannot format it. It just gives an error saying UNABLE to FORMAT.
WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH THIS WEIRD CARD?
even after I delete something from it, that files appears back after putting back the card into USB
I formated with long format with this program https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/ and it says format succesful complete, and after refresh the disks, the card is again full with those files. LOL what is happening?
My existing SD card is running out of capacity, so im trying to insert a 64Gb card into the phone. When trying to clone the this card in my laptop, i keep getting the message to format the card. Which obviously i don't want to do. The card works fine in the phone so i don't suspect a faulty card. If i plug the phone into the laptop the card is visible, and i can copy the files, and transfer them to my 64Gb card but then this is not usable on the phone. What is the procedure for upgrading the SD card in the Lenovo P2.
My observations lead me to believe that the formatting of the P2 is not compatible with windows 10.
any help much appreciated.
Regards
John M
Copy the files from the previous SD card to your computer by using the USB cable to connect the phone. Then do the same to copy to the new card.
It sounds like your SD card is formatted as internal memory rather than portable.
When you put in your new SD it will ask how you want to use it. Choose portable and copy your files over.
