CDMA Radio - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can anyone tell me where to find an updated CDMA Radio, I am looking at DeFroST 6.1a, and it says to upgrade my radio to http://xda.b42.nl/richardtrip/32.48....5.11.05.14.zip
and I want to be SURE that this radio will work for my CDMA desire.
Also, does the carrier matter for the radio? or is it just GSM/CDMA that matters?
Thank you,
Kyle

Confused, can i Hard-SPL my phone?

Hello xda-developers
I have the HTC Touch PRO 2 (RHOD100)
But, i am really confused, is this the GSM or CDMA version?
Can i Hard-SPL my phone? Will 3G work after hard-spl'ing and rom flashing?
Best regards
Mikkel
who is your carrier, and what country.
Telia DK (Denmark)
Nobody who can help me?
Yep it's ok, you're GSM, CDMA version is for some North American providers, so you can use the GSM version, it won't do anything to your 3G or anything. Just allowing you to flash safely any rom.
Perfect, thanks...

question about the latest radio rev for tp4 4 tmo

well i read the latest rev is 4.49.25.57...do you know if this rev is working properly and is worth the upgrade for a tp2 on the tmobile network here in the USA.
is it better than what is preloaded on the phone?

You might try posting this question in the
[Resources] Rhodium Radio Collection Thread
A couple of people have posted there about trying this radio.
FWIW: For a lot of people, the 4.49.25.17 radio-rom works better than stock TMoUSA radio.
Remember: The stock TMoUSA radio-rom is not available for re-installation, so if you replace it you can't go back.

Best Rom/Radio for Dual CDMA (Sprint) / Domestic GSM (AT&T) usage

Im looking to flash a custom rom to a Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2 for the sole intention of getting rid of my work phone (AT&T Blackberry). What is the best ROM (and easiest to switch between radios) to do something like this?
Thanks for any tips!

So far as I know you cannot flash a GSM ROM to a CDMA phone. It will not work.

The CDMA touch pro 2 is also a "world phone" so it has a built in GSM radio. The key is unlocking it for domestic GSM carriers. There are some unlockers to do this, but I am assuming there are various different radios and ROMs you can use that may make this work better or be easier to use.

I am aware of the "world phone" capabilities, and I stand by my statement. You will brick your CDMA phone if you flash a GSM ROM. You need to flash a CDMA ROM.
I believe that it is possible to "un-brick" back to CDMA, although so far as I know no one has "un-bricked" a GSM phone that was accidentally flashed with CDMA.
for better results... aka answers.
i suggest asking this question here --> linky.
because primarily your phone is CDMA,
therefore a CDMA ROM would be needed/required.
i also suggest a read of this --> linky.
it is very informative.
and should help a lot with answering your questions.
hope that helps.

As a CDMA/GSM phone we have the capability to use a GSM sim card, but we can only use tools that were specifically built for CDMA, including ROMs/radios. Flashing a GSM rom/radio will seriously hurt your phone, possibly rendering it unusable.
To unlock for a GSM carrier in the continental US, you will first need to SIM unlock, either through calling your carrier and requesting a SIM unlock or using the olinex SIM unlocker found in the CDMA forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=517
There are a couple guides to getting the tp2 working on various carriers.
Wellllll... Where are the guides
Please some help,
I have read and reand and dont find the answer.

[Q] Radio Basebands Question

I'm using a GNex for a while, but i'm still confused about radio basebands.
I live in Turkey, some ROM's like MiNCO there is a link for radio basebands. I don't know what I'm doing about it. I wanna update my baseband but i'm afraid bricking.
Any advice or help needed, thank you.
You can flash any GSM radio you want. Different radios work for different people.

[Q] China Baseband needed

Hey guys,
I'm currently in china and I need a chinese (China Mobile) baseband for my gnex (GSM). It should be region code ZC or ZS and for 4.1.2 JB. If someone could extract or point me to a link, it would be greatly appreciated. The CWM one, thanks!
P.S I checked the big stickyed "radio dumps" thread, but couldn't find any.
No such radios.
Is it because the gnex never made the market in china? What radio do you recommend using best? Thanks
No idea.
Try out the radios in the radio thread, see which one works for you.
Just wondering if any new china/hong kong gsm nexus users have any input on the basebands they use? and a questions about basebands itself, would any baseband technically work just that different baseband will yield different signal strengths?
