Bubby working on our phone? Seems not.

We had a bounty for bubby to get the money to buy our phone. And I remember there was one guy who (was awesome!!) donated over $200 as well as gave bubby a computer for him to work on.
I have been following bubby on his twitter and it doesn't seem that he's working on our phone. He's working every day but just not on our phone, not at all.
But, by simply looking at his twitter it's not entirely clear whether he is or not working on our phone. I hope it's just me that read it wrong.

Several people confirmed that he's working on his Epic 4G Touch, not our phone. He has not posted a single twit regarding anything he has done / is doing / is considering doing for our phone. He has not been responding to my questions on twitter, and people have been saying he either dance around when asked about our phone or not respond at all.

I know the concept that a donation is a donation and is not like you are paying for something, but...

While he has not developed a thing for any phone other than his own Epic 4G Touch, he has been asking for donation for numerous other phones. We should probably interfere and refer the people in other forums (potential victims) to this thread.

Just a thought, whoever donated, are you able to charge it back through your credit card company with a reason of "service not delivered"? If you are lucky maybe you can get your money back? I know it's a "donation" but bubby did promise in the bounty thread to deliver lots of stuff, he even said he already got ICS booted etc and played us with "here's a bunch of goodies coming up from me just donate to me and stay tuned" ****.

Its sad but truthfully some can be misleading as we all know. What is done here is in fun hobby and practice...to donate is great and needed....but only after said item has been created...
Moral wise...f ya its wrong and ill never support his present or future work.
Reality .... he probably cares less and can only verbally be punished....I think much more in order such as ban of account or other....
To mislead and not give up what was given....well some can be gutter trash here but hopefully not to long........

Wow. I'm definitely glad that I didn't donate. I'd only donate to devs that I can vouch for, like Faux, Slayher, etc. Hopefully Bubby didn't violate any of you guys who has donated. Maybe he's working on something big.

I think its effed up especially after just reading what mickeycobra04 posted about other thread. **** is nuts well deja vu if u wanna get technical. And the crazy part is right when the s2 came out he made stock kernel tar the stock recovery and i think a few other things. He basically reeled everybody in so they would know he wasnt just a nobody and could develop a little then he says cm, ics, asop and that rite there was like music to our ears so we start donating and he stays active. Then after some time he gets his phone and a laptop! And posted like 2 times since. Now i know everyone has lives and **** like that but cmon bro its been a month maybe a little less. Bring something to the table man it aint cool.

at the risk of being a **** to a 15 year old kid, let me try to help you understand. if you go over to the fascinate/continuum forums and ask them about bubby, you will hear nothing good about the kid. he has been making promises to android users for a while now, and RARELY coming through with anything more than a system dump or a stock kernel here and there. i know its said that donating with expectations isnt donating, but in the android community, why do people donate? we want to see someone make **** happen. well, this kid is a talker and not a doer. i donated to help get roman his gs2, i was rewarded with jugs(kernel), and juggernaut(rom). in the future, people should do a little more research before they dive in and give a person(15 year old kid) money for a phone, or a laptop.

He is in the skyrocket forums asking for donations also. I hate to say it but I seriously think he is in the wind folks. Its sad because this will prevent people from donating to serious developers. I have a corporate T-mo account and we got 25 galaxy s2's as a promo and he begged me for one of them and I was very close to sending him one in the beginning but thank god my very smart wife told me I'd be crazy to send some kid that I dont know from adam a 600 dollar phone. Well live and learn and just hope that maybe he will still come thru. But not looking to likely. Hell team kang has released 3 roms since Bubby supposedly got his phone.

bubby wont use a tester on anything "valuable". hes a gloryhound. everyone should follow his tweeter and see his ridiculous tweets. its comedy.

I think that those that whove donated should bomb the Skyrocket, Epic and whatever else thread Bubby frequents towards get the message across. Post the links of these threads that shows proof of Bubby not delivering what he claim he'd deliver and maybe he'll answer.

Cannot send messages

Am trying to get in touch with Odia. I have made a donation to him via forum as I need help to fix my IMEI on my stupid SGS2. I managed to message him once but now it doesnt seem to send my messages or show the original message I sent him!!
Please can someone help

Messages don't automatically show in sent messages (I seem to be telling people that a LOT these days! ) You need to enable the feature for it to happen.
Just be patient, and note that making a donation to someone doesn't mean they'll help you - you're not paying for his services.
Alternatively, have you tried here...

Thanks for the help re messages...that probably means Odia has about 10 messages from me!
Well my understanding from various posts around the forum was that it was a service that Odia provided...and I thought $50 was the accepted price so I sent it...if I'm mistaken then apologies for that.
Yes I have tried that and still I have a blank imei and baseband unknown in the about phone section.
Its ridiculous but I'm tearing my hair out without a phone!

Just bear with him.
Incidentally, I just checked his profile and he's not posted anything since 2nd March, so he may not have been on for nearly a week.

Well I dont know about that, I'd guess its under the "support my work" thing, which doesnt seem to be against any rules...and which I am more than happy to do...I have no problem paying for peoples time.
Well I had a message from him a few hours ago but then nothing so I am guessing he may be busy.
No choice but to wait!!

A donation is a way of thanking someone for the hard work they have done. It in no way means they are for hire nor should it imply that you are guaranteed one on one help.
Help is the purpose of forums. For us to read and learn from others. And help others when we can.

We appreciate all donations to xda-developers.com, it keeps our forum online and well maintained. As a user you're allowed to ask for donations in your signature as a thank you for your hard work. I think it's more likely that some members that don't realise this have suggested that donating will mean you get a service in return. I doubt Odia has said this himself.

He's around... But many people use invisible mode, so if they don't post, you don't know they're online... He usually responds to me pretty fast
AFAIK he does not offer any paid service, and has never said he will... If people believe he does, that's not something we can really do anything about... Because that's a perception.

New App/game idea, I need a developer.

So, I've come up with an idea for a simple yet addictive game for iPhone/Android. Without going into too much detail, it was something I used to play with when I was younger and was just thinking about it the other day, and thought, hmmm, that would make a great idea for a game on my phone. The more I think about it, the more I want to do it, but I have no experience with coding etc, or even where to begin... I searched for the name of the app and there is nothing like it out there.
So, I was just wondering if anybody on here knew a trusted developer I could share my idea with and develop it for me? If so, please message me.
We would be partners on the game and can arrange a mutual % before any work would be carried out.

Well i just hired my first free lancer and it took them about 3-4 weeks to create mine. I paid them $500 for it.

Sunshine app malware

I paid for the app and app did the job. After few months they sent me warning message that they will brick my device. The reason is their problem with receiving the money. My device didn't get bricked but it gets a lot slower(laggy and unstable). That can only be done with malware inside app and that is illegal.

With all these roms i had the same problem. All was unstable(system crash) and laggy. Installation was clean.
I will sue them.

I don't get it, if you paid, why would they be threatening you? Or am I misunderstanding something?

The brick threat that I gain is in my mail. Firmware was upgraded to the latest sense 3 months before the mail i received. There was no problem then.

You don't want to use app which can be after used to "brick" your device. It is not mine concern for they money transaction failure. I don't own that money anymore. That is a reason for expressing it.

XDA is not the place to "fight" over this ! We don't care what issues you have with sunshine. About software and phone problems we can assist but we ain't here to help you battle some legal issues or emails you get from them.
Take it up with them, contact them and solve this (if the mail is truly from them, which i doubt for a little)
You better think and get your facts first before you start accusing sunshine containing mallware !

Without threat i wouldn't blame anyone. With it I got good reason for it. Even if I wanted to cheat them they can not use built in malware app for insurance. There is court for that.

I'm not arguing, you are threatening here to sue them without even contacting them. In all your responses you not once said that you sent them an email back with an explanation. So coming in here and saying what you say is not justified.

This is a free community. I express myself and asked. I did not insult anyone. I gained the threatening mail and I wanted to share it with xda members. As I get impacted after receiving the mail I said that i will visit the court. I don't see any problem with that.

I will. The reason for blaming is threat that they will brick my device. This is not blaming without arguments.
Let me tell you this most "plastic":
-I upgraded firmware when it came out
-I was on skydragon rom 1.6.0. (before new year)
-I had no problems
-I received mail after a weak from installing Skydragon
-After mail I gain unstable device
-Reinstalling rom did not help
-Tried lollipop roms and have the same problem

I just bypass FRP 7.1.2 with lock Bootloader! Please read!

Well Hello there everyone.
My friend bought a Pixel off the streets (A.K.A Offerup App) He saw the post and called me about the post he saw and wanted to by it. I mention him about FRP, which he said he will check . He didnt relized that it just bypass with sideloader. We try to contact the sell but nothing. So head he gave it to play around with it and took me a 1 day 1/2 and BANG! I removed it with lock bootloader! 7.1.2 (NJH47D, Jul 2017)!:angel::silly::laugh:
Now i have the info& IDK what to do with it. If you have any questions ask. Very open to help out but I don't want to get ban or anything in the area.
P.S I have proof of it been lock and so on. ( I did not took a pic of the bootloader info but it was in 'slot_b' idk whats this but yeah) I believe this will work with verizon and OEM goolge pixel&XL
Edit: My brother has a Nexus 6P with 7.1.2 lock bootloader. I explain him that it can be done and he did not believe me. We bet some beers to show it can be done! Same concept different phone. I was multi-tasking and phone too longer than usual to get things in the right place. Check laptop date & Time.
Update: Check out Rootjunky and Phonelab Youtube& Twitter. The information was shared with them.

I believe that XDA rules don't permit that but since the thread hasn't been locked then perhaps I'm wrong. If it's free then post it. Thread will be cleaned if it violates rules.
But if he charges for it then he might as well just ban himself. No need to wait.

I'm pretty sure XDA considers instructions to bypass FRP to be aiding phone thieves and people who buy stolen phones, which would not be in the best interests of the majority of the people in the XDA community. There are plenty of Internet pages and at least one apk that claim to help people bypass FRP. The fact that you don't see that stuff on XDA should probably tell you something.

No that is against forum rules. You may have a donate button in your avatar and a button link in your signature. People can donate to you if they want, but it is against forum rules to ask for donations up front for providing a service.

This doesn't make sense combined with your OP. You said you were messing around with a friend's phone and bam you got it and now don't know what to do with the info. A mod said put a donate link up but now you say it's not for free since you paid to learn the method? Were you messing around or did someone teach it to you? Either way you're not going to get paid for it here unless you put up a donate link and the method is verified by other users.

The pictures show absolutely nothing useful. This guy is completely full of it. Mods close this thread. It's nothing but clickbait.

Also, the pictures in op are actually for a Nexus 6P not Pixel XL. Mods should at least edit and move this thread to the appropriate place if closing the thread is not feasible.
