I know apps like handcent u can use to lock but I need one that locks the normal messeging application. Also one that will stay locked when I use an app killer. Does anyone know one? Thanks

app protector

I use ChompSMS as my message app. It can look very stock and has plenty of features for locking messages. In regards to the app killer, just go in to the app killer menu and exclude your messanger.
Good luck

Use TextSecure.
Using app protectors or whatever is like locking a bank vault with a zip tie.
TextSecure is the real deal.

Try Shady SMS it only opens with a password from you dialer and stays secure

[Q] Signature on text messages

Just wondering if anyone has any idea how to add a sig to the end of a text. Is there like an app you can install that adds the option to the stock messaging app?

I've tried handcent before but I personally prefer the stock app. I was just hoping there was some other way.

+1 handcent
Handcent>(menu soft botton)>Settings> Send message settings> Enable signature
but i will tell you that the extra features in handcent are a little buggy in the epic..on both 2.1.1 and 2.2.1
Chomp sms is good on the epic.

App to remote onto Evo from Pc?

I know there are some apps that let you work on your text messages and edit your contacts, but is there an app that gives you full control of your phone from your pc with a full view of your phone screen? Back in my Winmo days there was an app that did just that but I can't remember the name.
Is there no such app on Android?

Try PicMe. It lets you view and control your EVO through your browser with a custom IP that the app gives you. I haven't messed with it for a while, I remember it not being very good but it's free so you can't complain.
Thanks, that's what I was looking for. Kinda slow but it works. Anything else?

no, the stock messaging app is needed for handcent to run.
Thank you it will stay

Deleting some stock apps have cost me lengthy time in recovery mode, leave em in for the ride.
Use titanium backup to freeze them. Out of sight, out of mind.

yeah, all you can do is disable notifications for it. i just wish that i could hide/remove some of the apps from the "share" function, which i use quite a lot. i'd like to choose which apps are in that view, and in which order. i know its the same in sense 2.0, so we can only hope it comes in a later revision.

I've used cyanogen since my OG Droid days and delete mms.apk after I install handcent along with email (not gmail), protips, news and weather, car home, etc. Never had an issue.

I did this and tested it and mms can NOT be received. Fortunately I had a TI backup to restore mms.apk from, otherwise I would have had to reinstall CM...
You don't have to reinstall the rom just for one app.. its packaged in, just take mms.apk out of /system/app in the rom download and put it back into /system/app on your phone.

Use Handcent SMS it will do the job for you...
@ hawks the screenlock does the purpose but I can't stop ppl from using my mobile but if I hv a sms lock atleast I can prevent them from sneaking in.
Does any have any app that can help me password protect my sms. And as well not degrade the performance.

If that's the case try handcent as sphuyal recommended

@hawk handcent is a entire new sms app. I want the same messaging app but once someone tries to open it he need to enter the password b4 proceeding. I have tried ( as I REM zdbox ) one but it slows down my DHD performance.

Handcent also enables a sms lock for the standard Message app from HTC. (and it probably does this for every app that can acces text messages)
When you want to open the standard message app with handcent installed (and a lock enabled), you will have to unlock it as well.
So you can just install it and disable notifications in handcent, so you won't notice handcent is installed and use it only for the lock system.

[Q] screen on when notifition arrive sabsa prime

i'm using sabsa prime 11 on my dhd, I don't want to the turn the screen on when receive some sms for example, in others roms I can find it easly, but on this rom don't, please
Which SMS app are you using? This behaviour isn't there in the stock messaging app.
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium
Should take a look at your sms app - gosms and handcent sms for example have this option to turn on screen when a message arrives. Gosms has this option enabled and handcent sms not (as far as I know) - take a look at whatever app you're using, if you're using an alternative app other than the stock one, might be an option
If you use the stock app try SMS WakeUp on the play store, works like a charm
The Corner approves..
The Thanks button ain't gonna push itself!
Thanks to all guys, but I think the problem isn't with the sms app, I'm using the HTC sense default app, the problem is with any type of notification
