[Q] Questions about other android phones... - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

New 4G cameras? Are you referring to the Samsung Galaxy S 4G's camera?
http://www.globaldirectparts.com/Samsung-T-mobile-Galaxy-S-Vibrant-T959-Camera-p/smsng6085857.htm
There's also the i9000 camera...
http://www.globaldirectparts.com/Samsung-Galaxy-S-i9000-Camera-p/smsng6087125.htm
So the camera for the Galaxy S 4G is compatible with our Vibrants?
Thats the same question i was aking myself...? On which i posted another thread... and supposedly they do work... so will be ordering those i guess and just sellthe extra one

Any update on the banding with the new "4G" Cameras? They are currently out of stock with the first linked "4G" camera, but have the I9000 in stock. I'm looking for the best one...
Those that bought the 4g ffc's should let us know how they work out.
The way I understand it, banding aside, is that the 4g cams will only work on a rom based off the t959v (Vibrant 4g) rom, which at the moment is only Bionix Frost. The i9000 ffc will work with everything else, including Bi-Winning and Simply Honey, and also any 2.2 roms if you push the ffc mod files that can be downloaded from the ffc support thread in the dev section.
I originally wanted a 4g cam, but then learned this and decided to go with the i9k instead. It seemed to have much more support in the chance I have functionality issues.
sooo..does anybody have an extra i9000 ffc the v0.2 one that i can buy off them?

Go to mobiletechvideos - he has them for sale. Also, having just bought one, I'll add that he's great at sending it quick and helping you troubleshoot any issues.
i was going to get one off his site, but he is currently all sold out..and he has no idea when he will get some more in. =/
If you have already made the ffc hole and want to play with something else while you wait for the v2 or the 4g ffc cam, I can sell you a spare v1FFC I still have. It would be $20-25 shipped. Let me know if you are interested.
Thanks bro, I appreciate it..but I haven't even started anything yet, and just want to do it all at once with the V2 ffc.
They are out of stock almost everywhere but you can preorder it and get2 for 80 at mobile tech videos
I have a a V1 if your interested.
I would check globaldirectparts. They normally keep ffcs in stock. I work on phones for a living and that's where I get my parts from.

[Q] Tv-out cable: Where?!?!

The question is simples, where can I buy the correct TV-OUT cable for SGS2?!
Thanks
What kind of a tv cable do you need hdmi?
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S 2 using Tapatalk Pro
Search on here for MHL cable
Still can't find it CHEAP anywhere! Found a 3£ version but had no sound... Only if the sound goes through the microusb too!
Also, does the SGS1 cable works on SGS2 ?
Cheers
This is the official MHL cable

Thanks. How about audio?
Audio does go through the cable. Was there a microUSB port in the adapter for charging as well? Because I read that unless it is put on charge, it doesnt work properly. The 2 adapters in the link have microUSB slots so yours might have been missing one or maybe just some other fault.
Once the adapter is connected, it works just like any other HDMI port.
you people need to do your research, there are plenty posts on here about this, plus there is a demo on youtube, read, watch and listen, the information is out there...!

Hey stoolzo,
- Where can i buy it cheaper than original\brand price
- How is the Audio transmitted
These are doubts that i couldn't find the answer too. Sorry for cutting trees and polluting Earth =P
Thanks all for the constructive answers. I'm buying my cable now
It's alright to ask questions I feel. Even if there's already another thread open for it. Its not like anything is getting wasted

Quite correct, however what you will find is that people will get more and more reluctant to cover the same issues over and over again until people simply wont bother to answer.
Always best to read before asking, there is no excuse not to do so, simply advising there is nothing wrong with asking questions doesn't really cut it. I know the search is pretty bad but I had some of the same questions myself but found all the answers I needed by reading and watching youtube.
One search for "MHL" revealed the following below, and these are not posts mind you, these are individual threads.

Yes in that case they might not get an answer and will have to searcha nd find out themselves. But what Ive found mostly is that some sites have very irritating search engines that hardly help you out. Not saying thats the case here.

I think you've got yourself a little confused there. If you search and cannot find something then you ask, the problem only arises when people cant be bother to search and questions get asked over and over again.

USB OTG/Host Mode

Now that the source code has dropped, are any developers considering adding USB OTG/Host Mode anytime soon? I'd be willing to donate if someone got it working or was actively working on it.
For anyone wondering what this is: USB OTG/Host Mode allows you to connect other devices to your E4GT (IE: Flash Drive, HDD, Keyboard, Monitor, DLSR Camera, etc.) and use/access them. It is supported by the International SGS2 and the US Carriers, but for some reason Sprint disabled this functionality in the kernel.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1802740 credit for this link goes to dberend! It's a usb otg helper link, but our phone are missing some modules if I understand correctly. They end in the file extension ".ko"
Last I heard Agats kernel was recognizing that a OTG device was connected! I'm not sure if it is working completely yet though.
Responses are appreciated!

USB OTG/Host Mode lets you connect a USB device to your E4GT, like a Thumb Drive, External Hard Drive, Keyboard, xBox Controller, etc. It's useful for a variety of reasons.
If this is in the wrong section, will a mod move it? Thanks in advance!
Why would you want to reprogram a perfectly good chip?

Although I wouldn't use this, I can see why people would want this. I use it on my tablet all the time so people without a tab can benefit from this.

Yeah its a very useful feature. I heard a few people mention the E4GT supports it, but that it was disabled in the kernel
It doesn't appear that very many people are interested in this, should I let this thread die?
i am still interested in this
I would use this function for sure.. even though you can already make these by combining a power cord with some kind of microUSB-to-USB adapter.. basically a "powered" mUSB-to-sUSB adapter..
Before I read about them, I bought an adapter that I thought would work, but not the right one.. then I read about making them yourself is possible.. but I never tried it yet..
If they were an already built accessory, I would use it to mount a multi-port USB hub, then connect a keyboard and mouse.. I of course would need to figure out how to use both the HDMI out AND the USB hub.. it would be seriously sick to use your phone literally like a mini PC!

The SGS2 International and SGS2 from other carriers supports it, but for some reason Sprint disabled it in the Kernel? I'm not 100% why its not yet supported..... all I know is that its possible, and I want to be able to mount my Flash Drive, HDD, and plug my phone into an HDMI converter for my HDTV and bluetooth a mouse/keyboard combo.... mini-PC, like you said
I added a poll to see what level of interest people have about this

Very interested, there is an app for controlling Canon DSLRs that I want to use which requires this.
Thanks for not flaming guys. I'm moving this to general as it looks like it could become more of a discussion thread.

I am also interested. I bought a few of these usb cables on ebay- but none worked. I would like to use a usb keyboard...which right now I am considering buying another bluetooth keyboard.
I'm also extremely interested. Would be very awesome.

[Q] FiiO E07K?

Sorry to make a thread, but I have Quick question, as I cannot seem to find an answer....
Does anybody know if the FiiO E07K (Andes) works with the Galaxy S3 in any form? Stock, or any kernel/rom that it will work with?
I can't seem to find an answer anywhere else, and I'm considering purchasing one, for this primary reason (use on my phone) for my Sennheisers... and would like to know before purchasing.
Thanks in advance for any help!
If you cant find the answer its probably because it won't work.

What should i check

Hey guys, hope you all doing fine.
Apology if this is not the right thread to ask but as it mentions Q&A that's why asking here.
I need some suggestions as i am about to buy a used Samsung galaxy nexus, so was wondering which things should i check before buying, you know to satisfy me that this is not a faulty phone.
As the guy selling has mentioned him self that you can check before buying so i was guessing its better to ask from the users.
