[HELP] Change Language

Hello,
I bought a HTC Desire from Taiwan(China) and would like to change the OS to Swedish (Nordic).
I have tried Morelocale2 but it doesnt work, I figure there is no SWEDISH-ROM or settings for it inside the current STOCK-ROM.
Anyone have the ROM with Swedish?
Or anyone know any other ways to get my phone blonde and blue eyed(Swedish)?

Anyone will do. On the Stickies (dev section) you will find the desire index. There is the list with all the custom roms. Since you are a beginner , I would recommend leedroid no-a2sd (froyo version is more stable than gingerbread).
In the stickies you will also find a noob proof video tutorial with instructions

which one should I do first, Root or Custom-ROM ?

Root. You have to root to install a custom rom.

Do step 2, 3, read 6 and do 7.

I did or I tried, on step 3 the revoked program tells me connection interrupted. What to do? My hboot version is 0.93. 0001 does that make a difference?

Make sure you have the hboot drivers installed, the usb is properly connected and retry

And, you can only mod CID inside you phone. It can change language.

You should try GB with Insertcoin 1.0.1 experience, it's like you have a new phone

make sure you backup your phone after you root it
that way you can go back if your new rom stops working or hangs

[Q] some questions about official gingerbread

hi i installed official gingerbread(modded by Alex with data2ext) rom yesterday... haven't had much time using it yet to see all the changes... t first sight, nothing really spectacular, i am a bit deceived tbh.. waiting for so long for this... first thing i checked was camcorder; results 720p still sucks: it lags and i have a class 10 kingston card... then tried 480p... lags also (audio and video out of sync....).... so camcorder was not fixed.. anyway, here are some questions about the official gingerbread:
- is bluetooth fixed? (can i use a wiimote e.g.?)
- is the call delay issue found in all gingerbread roms patched by htc?
- 7 digits call id fixed? (does not seem so at first sight)
i am getting a bit bored with htc sense tbh, thought they would put latest sense on it... guess i will soon go back to custom sense 2.1/3.0 roms

do u know how can root the official gengerbread i also upgrad to the 2.3.3 and want to root it to instal recovery and use my backup

Please people, READ and use SEARCH.
There are million threads already, that the official 2.3 upgrade
CAN NOT be rooted yet after you installed on your phone due to HBOOT change.

Maybe he used snq- kernel, try different ROM which is using htc kernel.

i didn't not used official gingerbread update.. i installed a custom one instead (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=745919)

Actually there are people saying it is possible, but majority says it is not.
You'll get a version newer/older error.

Yeah, it's better to wait some days, until Alphev/Unrevoked teams upgrade their tools...

same here. i flash from to 2.5 to 3.0.3 an i got only force close. some help please. i really like this rom.

now 2.5.1 works on my phone,but 3.0 3.0.1 3.0.2 3.0.3 com.android.phone FC
got it only with China Mobile sim . China Unicom sim has no FC.that s why???not work with China Mobile??

There's a link to older versions in the opening post of the Rom's thread (you can find it where it says: "Runnymede AIO ROMS BASE 1.05.401.4"). Unfortunately i can't post the link because I haven't reached eight postings yet.

i belive there is something in the rom. i flash again 2.5.1 and evrething is ok. its running so smooth.

Tried wiping cache + dalvik-cache?

i got some com.android.phone fcs too but it stopped happening after a few reboots..
it's on v2.5.1 though.. can't be asked to update then uninstall all that htc extras again..

I have the same issue. Keeping pop up the phone process Fc, annoying.

Try running the Fix Permissions script from within Rom Manager (if you have it installed) or RCTweaks if not. It helped me with a few FC errors.

there is a phone.apk and phone.odex in another rom based the Runnymede AIO V3.0.3 in a chinese android forum and i unpacked them. the ROMer says he solved the problem in his edited rom and claimed the phone process FC conerned about the OPERATOR. I don't know its right or not. i think attachment may help someone solve this phone FC problem.
any way,Runnymede AIO is a perfect rom ever since.

Be sure to check md5 for your download at first. Then you need to upgrade Runnymede AIO 3.0.x (from 2.x) with a full wipe.
I am currently using Runnymede AIO 3.0.3 on my Desire. It works perfect!

does this ROM support Arabic??

Probably in AIO 2. 2 or lower version support, and there is an addon zip.

I can tell you that the arabic patch dedicated to 2.2 Version works also for the 3.0.3 and 3.0.4 ones, I personally using it right know and it works perfectly.
I'm using 3.0.4 Deodexed version with A2SD+ script for the moment, you just have to search for the patch in ADDONS, flashing it & Enjoy !

[Q] rooting hox without unlocking bootloader

hey~
i searched alot but i dident find any way to root my tegra 3 hox without unlocking the bootloader (and losing the warranty) so can you tell me once and for all if its possible and if someone developed a way to do it?
i really want to root my hox to use some new apps which requires root but i dont want to change my ROM and lose my warranty XD

I'm using the viper x atm. Very satisfied. I also like the bug x and the blade roms

if rooting without unlocking is impossible, so is it possible to relock bootloader without it will show "relocked" ? or its impossible as well? :\

ViperX is definitely a great choice if you want Sense.
For AOSP side, I can recommend CM10.1 and IceColdJelly.

i do like sense, and i saw the review about viperx and i really liked it.
only two questions, right now im using the app "anysoftkeyboard" because i couldnt use sense keyboard with my language (hebrew), i remember people told me that if i would use a rom i will be able to use sense keyboard with my language, is it true?

Everything in 'Original Android Development' is built from source, AOSP ROMs. It also contains 'extraordinary' development like ViperX
Under 'Android Development' you can find most Sense ROMs

No. HTC have not integrated Hebrew language in any of their recent Sense keyboards, Arabic neither.
You can install Stock Android keyboard if you want, it comes with hebrew out of the box.

tnx for your help.
now im in a huge pinch, i tried installing viperx rom and it all finished up fine without errors at all.
when it got rebooted it showed me the lock screen (as it should) but when i try to unlock it restarts!!! :crying:

nevermind, fixed it, the guide i used never said anything about deleting cache after flashing boot img =.=

Did you do full wipe before installing?
Tap wipe data/factory reset in cwm.
Then install the rom again.

yeah i did, its working right now.
i tried to backup all my apps with ultimate backup tool from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1844032
but it seems that it doesnt really returned my apps :\
anyway, tnx for everything, i hope i will enjoy my new rom

[Q] android problem (jeallybean to gingerbread)

hello guys i am new to this forum
i have rooted my phone(htc wildfire s) with s-on
i installed jeally bean to my phone and the problem is that it is not working properly and asks me to restart
the phone.
so now i would like to install the original android which was 2.3.5 (ginger bread)

if you want back sense and want it back as it was stock just flash a RUU or just flash any other sense based rom or CM7.2 like you did with your jellybean rom

can u pls suggest me a good custom rom which is stable and works fine and also the fast one
because i have tried cm-7,wc2 and wc-3 and i am not happy with it
i tried cm-10 i liked it a lot but there are so many errors in it.
so can u please suggest a good rom rather than these

If you want stable roms,then there are quite a few options like modpunk's 9.1.0 which is really good.
Give Jellyking and marvellous rom a try. It depends on your usage and liking in the end though ics and jb roms are known to be more battery friendly and fast compared to gb.

i have a 4 gb card and have created a partition but i dont renenber the size there are 2partitions

Sure thing.You just need to use MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition to remove any of the partitions you don't need or make a new one.

Yup.Jellybean is the best rom with its stability and feature list,but its a pity development stopped. But there are alternatives now like Jdev's Owl project and of course Marvellous rom.
