It is possible for WP7 edit letters on the keyboard? Just as it was possible for WM 6.5 by overwriting the text file?

Hi,
In the Windows directory there are files T9EnglishLdb.dll, T9GermanLdb.dll that are responsible for T9 input when typing SMS.
I found T9SlovakLdb.dll and some other languages.
Even if I copy the files into Windows directory the T9 does not work. It probably needs some Registry changes for it to work...
Does anyone know what should I change?

easy .. not really.. but possible
dump the BIN, edit the txt file with the keyboard layout (not sure about the name) and compile it again.. all can be done with EFN's V5 Kitchen and instructions are in the PDF file that is included with the kitchen
hello.
does anyone ever done this?
i have a i780 with the qwerty keyboard.
i want to intall a french rom and maintain the keyboard in qwerty. is it possible?
i'm making a separate tool to do just that. You will be able to hot switch between different keyboard layouts with just a simple soft reset. Still work-in-progress.....check on my rom thread, will update there once ready...

Also, could you attach french dll and sym file on this thread -

hi, i need a language cab fonts to read sms in Thai language.... most of roms i downloaded from our great chef are wwe version and is only showing square boxes on my hermes..... thank you krub!
You probably miss the font, not double-byte sms, because I also use non-latin symbols and everything is ok.
Perhaps standart Tahoma font does not have neccecary symbols. Try using a thai font from your pc. Put it into windows folder, rename tahoma.ttf and rename your font to tahoma.ttf. Softreset.
For example, Tahoma in my vista box has all non-latin symbols (bit in controversy it's size is 10Mb).

Answer to your second question:
You can press and hold on the icons in the startmenu and move them to the top In build 23037 (which I run with) you can actually move them around by press and holding them;-) maybe it can do in the earlier versions too?

vido
As far as I know the icons in the Manila programs tab have the same icons as the ones in the wm start menu (in newer versions atleast) how to change them only in Manila I do not know but in the wm start menu it can easily be done with HComber or reSTART.
And as virupan said it is possible to change the order of the icons.
I have searched and searched for the Norwegian language on my X1, keyboard and dictionary on the Norwegian, because I want to use the keyboard, we have extra letters as "æ" "ø" "å".
hope someone has found a solution, or can create one as soon as possible.
This is something that is very important to me in the job context.

Hi Losty,
I assume that you have a Norwegian hardware keyboard in the first place.
- If you are using an non-Norwegian WM version then you will have to do a registry change to use æ,ø,å on the hardware keyboard.
Either use Total Commander (http://www.ghisler.com/pocketpc.htm) on your phone, or run an editor from your computer via ActiveSync, like the free CERegEditor (http://ceregeditor.mdsoft.pl/).
Quote:
In the registry, navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD
Change the CurLan g value to match your language:
English: 409
Norwegian: 414
(Make sure you edit the value in hex)
- I don't think you can add the Norwegian dictionary to a non-Norwegian Windows Mobile version (anyone please correct me if i'm wrong) but you can still add words to the dictionary by typing them in as you go.
The original dictionary file is not known yet, and there are no editors avaliable either. I can't seem to find anyone who has successfully solved this issue.
The custom word dictionary file is \Windows\ "compimeh.0409.dat"
The custom dictionary in a Norwegian WM should be "compimeh.0414.dat"
I restored a copy of the "0414" from a Norwegian WM6.1 backup and replaced the original "0409" English one. I still get english word suggestions but at least my originally added words (from WM6.1 Norwegian) pops up now.
- Well if you want to set the WM language to Norwegian AND use a custom ROM, you are probably best off using something like itje's Touch-IT Xperience 21046.1.6.3 (Norwegian).
If not then you can set part of the OS (day naming, calendar, clock etc) to Norwegian by going to Settings->System->Regional Settings.
