Hi Guys,
I have an LG GT810 (almost identical to the LG Incite). It is a good phone but several apps and games just refuse to work.
After a lot of looking around I finaly forund what the problem is, PocketHAL!
Every app or game that has been developed using this library, show exactly the same problem, it just freeze at startup.
Apps are all VITO application (like SMS Chat, Audio Notes, Audio Notes Touch), games like Sudoku Rules, Sensible Sudoku and others.
I even posted this on PocketHAL forum (http://pocketmatrix.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=29054&p=295089#p295089) but I had no replies (I see several posts with the same problem) nor I expect one.
Has someone here ever had this problem and found a solution (like disabling something on WM, ...)?
Thanks guys.

Hey there
I love balckstone...I have no problems with it...only sometimes some bug or lag or sometimes battery dies sooner than I would like it to due...but it is OK...I bought this device because it has huge display and looks awesome...
This type of question was asked before...but not like this...
I bought this because I wanted it to be something that I will want to use every single minute - but it is not like that - I thought that there are millions of MEGA AWESOME apps but there are not...
And here comes the question...(this is my first WinMo device so I haven;t done any research in the past):
Is blackstone/WM 6.1 too new so no cool apps and games exist for it?
Are they still in development? Or there is nothing going to happen?...
My point is that I don't know how it was and how it will be...I remember when IpodTouch came (I own one) we all waited, first we did jailbreak than played few games that werent that cool but nowadays I can play AWESOME games on my ipod...so is this the same with blackstone? is that all fancy stuff still in dev? or not?
Because to be honest, this really sucks..I know this is not a gaming device, but it would be nice to have some cool game on it...something fullscreen and playable and amusing...
Sorry to post such a long sh*t but I am really sad and confused that I spent so much money on this baby and yet can't have a lot of fun with it.
And also some very useful application to fully customize the look of the today screen (I dont use TF3D) etc...something that is fullscreen on blackstone, is really awesome does cool things looks nice...and everything..I know it is easy to say and difficult to do...but I am not a programmer...I am a user...aaa...enough of ****chat
PS: please post only reasonable answers, if you have to say this has been posted dont do that just close the thread and delete it..I'd like some serious answers...thank you.
First of all, use the search function here on Blackstone forum.
There are whole threads dedicated to games available for Blackstone that work in full-screen and are very nice.
But, if you expect same amount of games for Touch HD like there is for iPhone, then you will be disappointed. Because indeed, Touch HD is not a gaming phone, but rather a business / multimedia / navigation phone.
As for the apps - there's a HUGE amount of applications available for Windows Mobile that work normally on Touch HD. There are many sites that provide freeware WinMo apps, and in fact you can find many cool apps right here on this forum. Again - search function, or simply browse Themes, Applications and Software forum. There are also a few very useful threads that have lists of most popular Touch HD applications, with descriptions.
The question is simply what kind of apps are you looking for?
You are the FingerKeyboard guy..hey there...
Yep, Finger Keeyboard 2 is one of the bestest apps I had and have on my phone...thank you for it...
about the search function - I am not retarded, I searched a lot and found a lots of useful stuff...
But as I have mentioned, as I am a new WinMo user I expected much more...
I dont know what more to say...
Glad you like the FingerKeyboard Seems a lot of people do!
As for the app quantity - there is really a lot of WinMo applications, since this system has been around for a very long time. Not all of them are usable on Touch HD, but many, many are.
I think you should simply say what kind of apps are you looking for (besides games) and I'm sure people will give you advices. If you need some inspiration, try:

It is this soft ware report
Windows Mobile music lovers may well remember an excellent but quirky music program for Windows Mobile, called 40iPlay. It was characterised by an excellentsound quality and some usefulfeatures. Unfortunately it ceased to be supported from WM5 SP2 onwards.
Browsing around the Marketplace yesterday, I found a new music player called Phantasm MP , written byCornel Huth, the developer of40iPlay.
As it is only £7.19 (as opposed to $40 the original cost) I risked all and boughtit! Happily, once up and running, the sound quality isexcellent and I've no regrets.
It's not all sweetness and light at present however- setup can be an ordeal to saythe least, as the Marketplacedownload does not include thecomprehensive user guide available from the developer's main site. Initially my copy would not index my music folder, causing repeated lockups, butafter some advice from the developer I traced this to a dodgy music file, since when it has been fine.
Navigation on a capacitive screen needs practice as well, but again, the user guide helps!
One remaining glitch is that the program doesn't seem to be able to keep the device awake, so it will go into standby without sound according to user settings. I've reported this to the developer. Maybe there's something else in the settings that can be tweaked! Fixed: See post 4 for the reason for this!
I'll give it a few days, thenmaybe do a 'Brief Review' butif anyone is interested, the user guide is Here and some screenshots of both Windows and Windows Mobile versions Here !
user fell
Excellent ! - i tried 40iplayon my Orbit2 and it sounded very good indeed by virtue ofbeing able to tweak the soundstage via reverb to givea big sound.
I now use the SRS WOW HD add-on which has a similar configurable 3d effect tho i will definately have a punt at Phantasm for only £7.
The screenshot reminds me of Winamp from a few years back!
no one can help me?
I realize that most of the apps I install simply crash (almost 20% or 30%).
Also, sometimes they are totally buggy because they do not respect the specifity of local markets where they are made available (e.g. in France apps will not work with researches including French accents, or coma "," instead of dot "." before decimals), which means the developers actually did not respect MS' guidelines.
Examples:
- FourSquare that does not accept french accents
- IMDB that crashes in France,
- Factbook quiz that crashes,
etc, etc, etc
In my opinion such high number of buggy apps is totally not acceptable.
Why Microsoft validate all those apps that are not reliable ? ? ? !
I am fed up. It gives a very bad image of the Marketplace. And it makes me waste my time.
Starting to feel the same way too after what looked like a promising start to the OS. The quality of some of these apps is incredibly low.
And what is Microsoft doing with postponing these much needed updates?
Their SDLC for the platform appears to be falling apart.
Having been a MS Phone user since WinMo5, I'm seriously starting to regret investing in WP7
The problem is probably that Microsoft want to claim as soon as possible that they have more than 10.000 apps available on the Marketplace.
But what's the use if most of these apps are actually not reliable and crash ??
Quantity is one thing, but WP7 customers are also entitled to some quality apps.
It's a shame that developers do not respect MS' guidelines with respect to local market rules (decimals, accents, etc.) and that Microsoft do not verify this.
I could make a very long list of apps I tested and immediately uninstalled because they crashed.
I think this could be easily fixed by limiting certain Marketplace apps to certain regions. It's not the developer's fault if they're from the US if they don't want to or see a need to support French characters and accents... MS just needs to make the app unavailable in France. Would you prefer MS to do that, than to let you try it and fail?
Yeah, I'm in the US and very few app issues here... guess it's just elsewhere.
Hello. I think i know what you guys mean, but this has to do with the OS . After the updates i'm sure everything will become much more fluid and less buggy . Its normal !
I've found alot working apps. Btw apps wich you used and downloaded from the market homebrew aplication, it'll give alot of problems. Oficial paid apps, are working very fluid!
Never had issues with facebook app
Hrmmm . . . I guess I need to start downloading more apps. I have not come across any that crash. I have had an issue where the app will not launch, but restarting my device permanetly fixed the issue.

Microsoft should't be responsible for this directly.
What Microsoft can do is:
-Create better ratings so you can judge what apps are good, including stability.
-Efficiently ensure you get a refund when apps are unsatisfactory.
-Prevent a crashing app from taking down the system. I guess this is already done.
-Make it easy to write correct, therefore stable apps. This is already done quite well with .NET.
I dont get it either how can someone that is tring so hard phail so bad (limiting apps, multitasking). They humor us with their claim that no multitasking will make it more stable but i have never had a phone that crashes so much; my droid has possible crashed once every quarter this phone crashed daily/weekly.
For restricting so many apps from the market WP7 apps are so unstable even default apps i.e Market place, web, anything in zune, would not mind if they crashed but christ can you add a app manager so i dont have to reboot the phone. and god what pisses me off the most is that if you have multiple alarms going off at the same time (snooze(im a heavy sleeper)) the screen will freeze but still allows the stand by button to work; like dang its still 6am (oh **** its frozen im late, thanks wp7)
Crazy... most is user problem.... my HTC 7 Mozart very smooth.... after change memory to 16GB.... one word "Power" next target "32GB"
Sometime problem come with you internet connection instead of OS itself.....
Too many different devices. Different hardware. Many bugs.

Actually, that's the problem in many cases - consumers have chosen HTC and are being penalized for it because of the [at times] sub-par SD-card used rather than NAND.
I had a HD7 for a while before getting the O7's and it [HD7] crashed far more often than the Omnia has ever done. Not just the marketplace/zune crash but also applications refusing to start because they're taking too long to load etc. I've seen similar problems on my HD2 and a Mozart but not on either of my O7s or the LG I used for about a week.
Your right, M$ does need to stop validiating so many apps
Hello,
I work as a secretary and in one day I have more than 50 calls it is so hard to remember al info. That is why my favourite applications is Call recorder, (and in our country it is legal -if they are informed)
this is my first android telephone. My previous was nokia n95 8gb .symbian s60 - and there it worked really good - totall recall!
I tried more than 5 applications from android market, but looks like nothing work on galaxy nexus. (just my voice is recorded, other party (other friend) is not recorded)
I am so sad, because this is first time I have android phone and this is only application that I really need and it is not working
Is there any possible way to have this application to record all calls (from me and another side) , if I do not want to root my ROM?
or I really have to root this phone? will there developers make an app that will work (i can wait a little)
thanks a lot thanks a lot in advanced.
This is my first post and I really need some advaces (more than 3 days I aksing all around but no one can answer me...)
I think you will be disappointed as I too have been looking for an app like this. I couldn't care less about it being legal etc. however this is likely the only reply you will get thats on topic as people love to quote the law whilst using their pirated copies of windows lol
Anyway I found AndroRec Call Recorder but it only records the other party if you use the speaker phone or max call volume (in which case they are fairly quiet)
If you find a working one be sure to report back!
i am still looking for the solution too!
anyone help?
Okay, this is getting out of hand. I get it, you want to promo the partnership with Huawei. But. Does the forum HAVE to automatically play the video - which is hidden on most pages - on every new page I open? First of all, most of your readers don't speak Chinese. Second, the video player is hidden, out of view - no way to pause it, short of refreshing the page (which, luckily, stops the playback, up until a new page is opened, in which case it just keeps going).
I'm an app developer. I have *zero* interest in publishing any apps on the Huawei app gallery. I have zero interest in their Play Services replacement. I don't speak Chinese. I don't want to listen to Chinese people talking about how "awesome" the Huawei app gallery is. I want to read the forum while listening to music. I don't want Chinese chatter over my music. And I don't think it's hard to understand user needs.
I get it, you have a big partnership, whoop-dee-doo. But pushing this content on users who simply don't want a single ****ing thing to do with it, will just alienate users. This "advertisement" has already made me consider leaving XDA, and it's only been happening since this morning! It also assured me that recommending people against buying Huawei devices was a good idea. Auto playing this video, without visible controls, is basically taking a massive dump on 99% of your users who couldn't give a flying **** about Huawei's developer conference. I've known a bunch of forums that adapted similarly aggressive advertisement tactics. You know what's common in them? All of them are gone, disappeared years ago, because they alienated their userbase with it.
So please, either remove this hidden video block, or disable autoplay, or at least give users an option to disable it on their end.
