[Q] Loudspeaker / Notification LED - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey Guys!
I just switched from a Motorola Milestone!
My question is:
Is there any chance to improve that loudspeaker? I mean, it's reaallly crappy. It's not even loud. And the noise it makes is terrible. Compared to the Milestone it's really ****. Any Modification possible?
And the Notification LED? Only Green and Orange? Seriously? My Milestone could do every color imaginable ...
Cheers for any replies

Loudspeaker? No, it is ****ty by hardware, so only if you change the speaker itself
For the LED, try "LED me know" application.
You can find it in Market and see if that works.
But as far as i know Desire is only capable of green, red & orange.

People managed to enable the Blue LED.
I hate that speaker. Seriously
And I'm coming from a phone with a superiour speaker! :/

[Q] Moto Defy with Loud Volume Hack

Hi Did anyone try the Moto Defy with Louder Volume Hack ? If yes, was there any difference?
it doesnt work on any Motorola devices
Did you find a Louder Volume solution for your Motorola Defy?
For me the other people are always a bit quiet in phone calls. I either have to ask them to speak up, or switch to speaker phone and blast everyone nearby with my conversation

Really? I had the voice call volume all the way up yesterday and it almost blew my ear off. In fact, it was so loud I thought I had the speaker phone engaged for a second.
Hi guys,
Thanks for answering. defy is actually a very good phone in terms of speaker / loudspeaker's amplitude, but always felt the absence of an equalizer (The media settings did not help much) - The Louder Volume Hack promised to do a good job of improving the bass frequencies without putting strain on the processor and hence the battery.
I used the app, but to say the truth I did not feel much difference. Also the app did not make much sense to me. Regarding the bluetooth sound, i felt a slight improvement after using the Louder Volume hack app.

+1 Even I thought that the speaker phone was on but found it off! Interestingly, I couldn't hear much when I moved the phone away from my ears!

In my t-mobile UK defy I have some equaliser settings in "Settings, Call Settings, Voice Quality" menu. See if you have that option?
i did adjust the voice quality setting to the one that says "seems louder" but it didn't make a noticeable difference, I still strugle to hear. Dunno if the european motoblur firmware is the issue? Or if phone carrier effects this? I will have to look into that volume hack.

[Q] Galaxy Nexus and it's vibrator

Hey guys!
I've been wondering a bit, after getting my Galaxy Nexus. I mostly have my phones on silent, just have it to vibrate, when ever I receive a call, sms, e-mail or what ever.
But with the Galaxy Nexus, I seem to can't feel the vibrator (no naughty thoughts!), and therefore I can't have my phone on silent.
Anyone know if i can change it with an app or anything else? Really hate that my phone needs to sound like a an robot when ever i get a notification.
Cheers,
Alexander W.

Are you talking about a software problem or a physical problem?
As in have you tried going into like gmail settings and turning on vibrate when receiving emails and stuff like that?
I had this exact same problem. I never have my phones make noise (other than the sound of it vibrating) as I don't want to accidentally leave it on loud when it should be on silent. Just easier that way. Plus you can hear your phone vibrating on a table or other hard surface from other rooms, so no need for sound.
It took me a bit to figure out what was going on, but what the issue was for me was I had the ringer volume down too low. With your phone unlocked, press the volume up rocker once. You will see that it changes from a speaker with a line through it to a phone that appears to be vibrating. This will put it in silent but vibrate mode.
Also make sure in the sound settings that you have the vibrate mode set properly. I have mine set to always vibrate.
Hope that helps!

Try the application Light Flow. I had the same problem, couldn't feel the short vibration and missed my emails and such. With light flow you can set up custom vibrations for different applications. I have two exchange accounts and have set up different vibration lengths and led colors for each (the one vibrates for around 4 seconds). You can also set up another set of vibrations if you miss the first one that will repeat for a duration of time that you can also set.
For phone calls only, try vibration manager, it will allow custom vibrations for incoming calls.

Yes, there is silent, vibrate and tones
hiohokaybye - It's exactly like the others says. It proberbly isen't a problem with the phone, it just doesn't vibrate "hard" enought for me to feel it or hear it.
But thanks for the help, jaeisber, archerks & white lie! - Got it working "right" now.
Cheers, y'all, and Merry Christmas!
I giggled when I read the title of the thread.
I too have experienced missing calls and messages do to the fact that the phone vibrates at a much higher frequency than other phones I have had. It feels great when you hold it, but I don't notice it as much as other phones when I have it in my pocket.
Same here, I can't feel the vibration strong enough when it is in my pocket and miss calls. I'll have to try the light app.

[Q] "Voodoo Sound" for Gnex??

Me again!
Previous to the Gnex i had a Samsung Galaxy S and the microphone, even though very clear in quiet situations, was WAY over powered in loud ones. Clubs, gigs, bars, pubs ect. "Voodoo sound" along with the right kernel could gain the microphone down so it was crystal clear even in the middle of a superclub. Is there anything for the Gnex to do the same thing because i'm finding the same problem. Any type of noise louder than about 60db is distorted to hell!
Thanks for the insight.
Search in the Dev section for Supercurio's Voodoo thread.

Dialing Ringer Volume & Notification Light ALWAYS On

I need some help with those 2 topics, probably pretty easy for most of you
1. When I make a call on the HTC 10, the ringing I hear is very low, when someone answers it is fine. If I raise the volume for the ring, when someone answers, it is LOUD in my ear.
2. My notification is always staying lit. It flashes etc when necessary, but otherwise, even when I have it Flash (when screen is off)
Thank You Very Much
the ring sound is very very bad, when the phone rings only sound in the lower speaker, the same for alarms and notifications. If you place a song like a ringtone sound HORRIBLE, muffled and very low, I´m searching about a fix or patch and nothing, even with root and moods, very very frustrating
for to enjoy music is good but no so loud that M7/M8 or M9, with the headphones is very very good
There wiil be a mod in the future to use both speakers. even s7 has a sound mod
bugs
