Problems with hulu? - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I can launch the app but when I click on the episode I want to watch it starts loading then says not supported on my platform. Any help would be much appreciated.

By app do you mean hulu app or your browser app? Hulu doesn't support android, but there is a work around in the apps section of this site. Basically you need a modified flash file. On top of that you need a browser set to desktop settings or the hulu app.

I have myns rls5 and it worked before and I just noticed today that its not working anymore.

Try going into your browser, type about:debug into the address bait enter,go to settings,ua string, set as desktop. My phone occasionally reverts so hulu won't work after cycling power and this usually fixes it.

You won't see anything happen. Now though if you go into settings menu you should have a setting for ua string...change it to desktop.

Or it means that you have embedded flash set to off my default (Dolphin allows this). That way ads don't start on their own but you can start something you want just by tapping it.

Unable to download APKs from the browser?

Whenever I try to download an APK from the browser it says my phone doesn't support that file type. I think I remember it being able to before. Any ideas?

The stock browser has this problem. When download some files, it will have some kind of check. Once it found something incompatible, it will notify user and prevent them from downloading. Maybe you could try other browser. Recommend Boat Browser. It supports pause/resume/retry when downloading. You can find it in Android market.
I enabled astro's download anything for stock browser but I told me I have to dissable the setting anytime I want to download a attachment in gmail. Kinda lame :-(

You need to sideload Adobe flash.

Root, install AdFree, side load flash, use the Firefox browser.
Of course you don't need to root, but AdFree is so much better than the browsers ad blocks

If someone knows of a better way than this, please post. I watch a lot of sports on my phone/tablet and this is the only non-headache way I've found. Firefox not hiding the web address bar when you're on a site and the stream freezing if you choose full screen mode (so I just zoom in until it fills the screen) are both super annoying. Also you have to "tap to load flash" every time you load the page, but other than that it is pretty solid.
It sounds like a pain in the ass but once you get used to what you need to do, it's not so bad. The s-pen is really nice for closing the ads

I know that. But unless I'm doing something wrong, when using Firefox, you need to "tap to activate flash" each time you open Firefox

LG keyboard greyed out options

Hey all. I just got the phone yesterday and am loving it btw. I liked using the LG keyboard and having the extra row on top with the numbers. However, after messing with it for a while, that disappeared and it started to say each letter out loud and most of the options are greyed out as seen in the screen shot. The only thing I have found in searching that might have caused it is trying out light flow lite. Has anyone else experienced this or know a way to fix it?

Yes light flow and other apps seems to trigger the talkback feature even though its says its off. The solution I found is to go into setting then apps find the talk back app and uninstall it. Then all that will stop. If you ever need it again you can just install it again. I notice this only happen with LG keyboard. Other 3rd party keyboards are fine

That did it. Thank you so much! However, it worked to simply disable the Talkback app instead of actually uninstalling (it didn't have that as an option since it's a system app). Everything is good now!

No video sharing on Group Play 4.3 updated?

So I updated my mother's Note 2 with 4.3. The phone is stock and everything, my problem is and made real angry is that I wanted to show off some of the new feature that it has. So went to group play app to do the video sharing, but when I see, there isn't any video sharing to my surprise!!! What happen? I saw all those demo showing off the video sharing option with a Note 3 and a Note 2!
I was testing that out (half heartedly) with my girls GN3 and my newly OTA'd GN2 and couldn't get them to detect with the scan... just off work so I'll try a few more things and see if I can get anywhere
Edit:
So far no dice... double checked device status and Knox counter... everything is good. I did turn on my phone afterwards and noticed several app updates (most were for newer 4.3 apps) but not for group play or Samsung link...
As of right now I wasn't able to get my girls GN3 and my GN2 to recognize each other through any of the apps when referring to videos... (we also have a Samsung TV but no dongle yet)... was able to get music to play on both devices though...
Some things that I've noticed:
1. Her group play app is about half the size of mine (even though she has the GN3 and I'm on the GN2)
2. Her Group Play app is actually an older version than mine
3. Her Group Play app has an option of video sharing where mine doesnt... I only have music/documents/etc... but no video tab to share
Really the whole thing makes no sense lol... but ill continue looking around for answers... pretty stumped at this point as, like I said, they sync for music, just not videos
Something tells me the solution could be as simple as a setting, as boring as waiting for the app to update, or as complex as requiring a dev to manipulate resolution errors/compatibility issues etc and creating a work around... really no idea at this point

This apk doesnt run as such and wont appear in your app drawer. It seems to act as more of a plugin for group play.
Seems silly to me to. I dont see why it cant be part of the app.

If you dont trust my file you can always download a stock N3 firmware and rip the apk from that yourself

Okay after playing around and trying to figure out how to do this I find out how. You need a smart TV that's connected to your home network. That can recognize media files from your phone. Like a media server. I have a Sony TV so I went to settings turned on near by devices and allowed my TV to look in my phone. Then go to wherever on your TV to find the media connection and browse from your TV.
