[Q]Root on 2.3.5

Hello , today i bought an HTC Desire HD and i want to root it. I have Android 2.3.5 and Software number 3.12.405.1 . Can i root it?
P.S. It's first time when i try to do this, if it can be rooted , and if you wish can you tell me how to do that and what is the best combination?
P.S. 2. First time i need to install root, than rom and after kernel?

Hello everyone I got wildfire s and Android version is 2.3.5 and software no is 2.26.720.3 .I cannot find any RUU or ROMS for this to unlock bootloader..:crying: pls help HTC dev doesnt havve this ROM too..Kernal version 2.6.35 .. pls somebody help i want to root my phone..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes... mine was too... same no 2.26.720.3.... i forgot whether i updated bootloader or not .... just download pack with the corresponding carrier... dont look the no.,... then proceed step 1....

and i want to go back to the official ROM 2.3.5(i am not sure if it is 2.3.5).
