I am running launcher pro and un-installed sense through titanium backup pro after backing it up. I want to update launcher pro but in order to do that I need to switch vasco to sense. Titanium backup isn't reinstalling the sense launcher. I have a copy of the rls5 zip. What is the easiest way to reinstall sense without reinstalling the entire rom?

You didn't do a nand backup before installing the custom rom? I think that would be the easiest. Flash your backup.

I rooted my phone with revolutionary and switched to cm7. I origanally used my backup root tosave my apps and it always worked. Now I have the app file but it wont open my back up. I tried to back up my apps in the stockromandit says I dont have root. Ive tried every app I could find in the market. There are a few I have that arent in the market anymore. Any ideas on how to save them?

How did you backup your ROM? If you used recovery then you're up a creek without a paddle.
Titanium backup and start over. Best advice

I did back up in recovery. I ended up using my backup. Titanium wouldn't work. Then reopened the file with my back up root. Thanks for all the help guys. Just a newb learning the ropes.

The only app I back up is angry birds n that's just data backup. What apps do u really need to back up vs just reinstalling? I don't really see the point in backing up anything other than a game save

Your stock rom probably isn't rooted.
Restore the nandroid backup, then flash Superuser through recovery. You can find the file here: http://goo-inside.me/superuser/su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip
You may need to install Busybox for Titanium Backup to work, but I think the developer removed the need for it. You can use a Busybox Installer from the market to install it if you need it.
Don't restore system apps or data when you restore on CM7.

I really like the new ICS Folders, but do tend to flash a lot. Any way to back them up so you don't have to re-create them every time you flash a new rom?
OR, does anyone know of a folder app that has a similar style to the ICS folders?
bump ... wanna know the same thing!

Nope, not that I'm aware of. You could use a third-party launcher like LauncherPro or ADW that has homescreen backups, but I'm not sure any of them have the same kind of folder capability.
I backed up mine using titanium backup pro and it restore back all my apps including my folders. I did had to setup all my widgets back though.

I didn't realize titanium would backup the ISC folders... I guess next time I load a rom, I will give that a try. Thanks

The Free version of TiBackup works just the same for backing up and restoring. But the paid version gets you batch 1-click restore, and several other advanced features.

When I was flashing new ROMs, titanium backup was not restoring my ICS folders. However, if you use the Nova Launcher, which is based on ICS and do a titanium backup of that launcher, when you restore, your folders come back.
It's the little things in life that make me happy !
Nova Launcher is really nice !
I backed up the stock ics launcher with titanium, and restored just the data..not the app. This worked fine to restore my folders, but I had to re-create a couple of shortcuts for apps that 'weren't installed' after flashing peter alfonso's 4.03 nightly. It seems to me that the launcher itself might change between 4.02/4.03, so I wanted to play it safe and keep just the data. To be honest...even keeping the data from 4.02 makes me nervous. I just don't know enough about it.
You do not have to go to Google Play when reinstalling all your apps.
On a rooted phone, using a file explorer program, go to the data folder, then go to the app folder.
Here are all the apps that you have downloaded.
All you have to do is to make a folder on your SD card (or where ever you want) and copy all the files to that folder.
Now when you want to reinstall any or all apps, they are there to install.
I have all my apps reinstalled in about 10 minutes after flashing.

Or just use Titanium Backup. Will Auto re-install all your apps for you.

Yeah. Anyone who flashes uses titanium....it does all the work. So much faster than doing a manual install.

Make a nandroid before flashing the rom. Flash your new rom. Without leaving recovery, choose advance restore and restore Data form the nandroid you just made. Reboot.
You'll have your apps restored before ever booting your new rom.

Restoring a nandroid /data backup will, I don't think titanium can...could be wrong though. But if you do a nandroid restore, you need to be on the same type of Rom. Ie stock ics restoring a stock ics nandroid data file is fine, but if you are on asop and flash nandroid data from a stock backup it may cause issues.

If you use a 3rd party launcher, restoring it from TiBu will restore all settings in most cases.
Thanks. That makes sense. I spent a good hour laying out my icons and widgets that I did not want to go through that again but don't want to test it out to see what works.

If you use Titanium Backup, you can choose to save the layout for your TouchWiz-based home under system settings (shows up as TouchWiz), and if you restore that, it'll keep your layout, except perhaps for widget placement, if they're a third-party widget and not installed when you restore the TW settings. It'll definitely work on third-party launchers too, though.
for what ever reason i am having difficulty unfreezing system apps using myBackup Pro. does anyone know of a solution? or an alternative on how to remove and reinstall a system app. at the moment i want to reactivate Lookout Security, but i can't unfreeze.
Did you try Titanium Backup? Or Rom Toolbox? They both can freeze / defrost. I'm actually on FDA today for a similar reason. I'm trying to restore / reinstall my Live Wallpaper app. I got it to defrost but somehow in the past deleted the data in TB backup files.
I have it backed up with Rom Toolbox but the phone won't let me reinstall the .apk file. I need to figure out what I can do.
I hope I helped.
