My motorola defy keeps saying code corrupt, i tried to restore one of those 2.2 firmwares and then my phone kept restarting and wouldn't boot. So then i used rsd lite to flash with a 2.2 UK and 2.2 China. And they won't flash correctly. It keeps getting stuc kat like 9% or 13% executing. So now I have Code corrupt... Someone help me please! thanks in advance!
nvm. i got it to work, i flashed it with a small file first (boot_only.sbf) i got an error at first, but then redid the flash and it worked. idk why lol
could You tell me how exactly did You unbricked Your phone? I'm trying to flash boot only sbf (tried them all) but with no luck, I always get "error erasing subscriber unit". bootloader says "code corrupt"
I did a nice and clean upgrade by Higgsy's 2.2 minimal Chinese, it worked fine but it suddenly bricked itself.
Now I cant flash anything...
some advice anyone please?
doesnt help, but sry, no idea. :=/
good luck!
(but at least u know, someone's reading... and wants to help)

Hello everybody,
I tried to flash my phone with the Bell UI beta 2 from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=445372
That didn't work because I got the error message INVALID MODEL ID, then I made a little bit of research and found this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=409425 it explains how to bypass the INVALID MODEL ID problem, so I reconfigured the ROM and flashed it. Everything seemed to work fine when I flashed it, then after flashing I tried to boot the phone but it's stuck at the "touch diamond" startup screen. I'm able to get into the bootloader and I've already tried to hardreset multiple times with no success. I've got a DIAM100 with SPL-1.40.Olinex.
Now is there anyway of fixing this? Or do I have to send it in?
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Thanks!
not an expert on this, but just a couple things to note..
1) if you can enter bootloader, then you haven't bricked your device.. might want to change the post title..
2) have you tried flashing back to your stock ROM?

Is it really bricked ?
ok try that :
Start your phone and maintain Vol Down,
you should enter in bootloader mode, so just try to flash with another rom.

well any joy?
Since you can power on the device it is not really bricked I guess, cause last time I bricked mine, the power didn't even go on...
Guess you should just try another ROM
it's not as bad, as you think (hopefully):
-enter in bootloader mode (as suggested above)
-u'll see the colored screen with USB written on its lower side
- onnect it to your pc with USB cable
- start flashing a working rom in a normal way
it should work!
hey guys you are awesome! I didn't know that you can flash your device within the bootloader! I've now reflashed with a never bell version and it works great! Bell is really smooth TF3D could learn something from pointui ^^
Thanks alot!
Regards
I think we're done here!
I have an un-branded orange HTC Desire which is factory unlocked! I live in India, I got the OTA (froyo) a few days back, When installing phone restarts and then starts looping on its own with white htc screen and a percentage bar, this keeps happening and restarts on its own! No signal can be found! Im puzzled and its very frustrating that i couldnt get it worked after 2 attempts, I flashed back to the generic 2.1 HTC rom, but I would really like froyo on my phone!
I dint use a goldcard when downloading and installing the OTA, do i need to keep the goldcard in when installing? and also if someone can post or link me to the manual installation, I'd be grateful!
And has anyone come across and workaround for the above issue? I found that a lot of people have this issue!
Any answers on this would be majorly appreciated, thanks!

Everything you need to know
I still dont follow! I mean, isnt that a guide to rooting your phone? Im confused as to what exactly to do! :S
(apologies for the newbness)
Basically you need to flash it and start again, you should be able to get a ROM working to start with then after that a good idea is to try rooting it and flashing to a Cooked Froyo ROM from here
Where did your phone originate from, since in india it is not out yet. Because if you got it from an asian country you have to insert a goldcard when updating. See this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=741836
Thanks for all the help! finally managed to get it working!
fter the OTA Failed and I got the 1-100% count with errors and no radio. I did the following to fix:
*use at your own risk*
I think I already had the WWE_1.21.405.2 with 4.06 radio
so did not bother with the RUU a second time, just downloaded the manual 2.2 rom
renamed as update.zip copied onto gold card
put gold card in phone
rebooted holding back
selected bootloader then recovery
pressued up and power to get menu
selected Load update.zip
at end of update (when prompted) rebooted from menu.
waited while green update screen showed.
phone rebooted itself
came back up with no signal upon unlock it did the 1-100% count took a while but no errors this time.
eventually it displayed a sucsessful update message and all is hunky dory.
Big thanks - had the same issue myself.
Suspected I needed the goldcard in but didn't know if writing the update.zip file to SD card would overwrite the goldcard bit and leave the SD card corrupted, though.
You live and learn, I suppose.
So US cellular just got the update for 2.2 and i tried to do it on my own. i kept getting error 155 at the very beginning and i would have to recover my phone. after doing that about 3 times i hard reset my phone and took out the memory card. when i tried to update it again it got a little bit farther, but i got the same error, and when i recovered it after that, it just got stuck at the HTC screen when i first turned it on. after trying to restart it with or without my sd card in nothing made a difference, so i went to the boot menu and it would load and say that there was no image. i think when i updated it and recovered it somehow deleted 2.1 and now i have nothing, so if someone can give me a link to a flash of 2.1, i would be very grateful. if you dont think that's the problem, then give me some other ideas.
Hi all,
I'm am new to all this flashing business, so i tried to put gingerbread 2.3 on my SGS. I downloaded and followed the tutorial from another site and i downloaded firmware I9000TUBJV6 CSC = UBJV6.
It says its a firmware for America and Australia (Which I'm in Australia).
I ran the Odin3 v1.82 and it had a pass and said it ran successful, but when the phone restarted is wont load past the moving S start screen. I ran it in recovery mode and tried to do a factory reset but i get the error message
E:format_volume: rfa format failed on /dev/block/stl10
Any help appreciated
try following this GUIDE
btw - this is the wrong section for your problem
Thanks Mate,
But my SGS is a GT-I9000T, is there a fix for these problems as the guide you sent says don't try it on this model.
Cheers
doesnt matter. flashing procedure is same for all.
it depends on what you flash. so, you can flash this stock ROM
its from samfirmware.com. password for extracting is "samfirmware.com" (w/o quote).
hello friends.
I'm in a pckle with my M9...
i was attempting to take an OTA update after reloading backup of my stock read-only TWRP recovery.. it was S-OFF, and UNLOCKED.. i decided to OEM relock and tried again.. nope it still said i had an altered system and couldnt upgrade.. so i tried an RUU .exe file... same thing... i tried an RUU from SDcard (.zip)... i saw a bunch of lines whizz by it was quick but i saw stuff like %0-SKIPPED for many lines.... now it only boots to fastboot mode, and i can get it to download mode if i try 2-4 times...
i've tried loading other RUUs .exe and .zips.. the .exe claims my battery is below %30 and quits... the zips also fail.. i have a video of the latest fail.
i've reflashed the recovery with TWRP and with the stock and i just cant get to recovery...
it wouldnt take the update like it did with this same recovery once before... now things are really messed up...
let me know what other info you need and i'll try to get it up here
THNX in advance for your help

i managed to get a stock recovery onto it, but it gives me all sorts of header and signature verification errors... i have more photos you can see that my CID is blank....
pretty sure i must have made a firmware F-UP.. i was on a rooted stock dev rom and used a TWRP back up of my rogers on that dev firmware... im pretty sure that was 1 of many screw ups i did to get this far... anyways it turns on and has a battery charging icon when its off. it now has a stock recovery and is still S-OFF but before i tried to et that stupid OTA update by flashing a sour RUU i had locked my boot loader hoping that would show my device as unaltered.... STUPID i know... im open to any more advice before i aks HTC if i can pay them to fix it
gonna give up and go find a sim adapter for my M7... crappy speaker and all... at least its working right now...
