okay, so for the past couple days been trying to successfully theme my notification bar. trying to put together a theme is hard work but really you can just theme all the icons on the notification bar by themselves easy enough the only problem is how do you deodex the phone inorder to change the clock color. i cant get it to successfully deodex all the way with the ultimatex or w/e. it quits halfway saying there was an error deodexing a main .apk. soo any help?
btw ive googled for days just trying to find something. so now im asking for some help. please and thank you.
Search for antibyte posts on modaco. Higgsy knows to do it here
Sent from my ME525 using XDA App
If you are just looking for the files Higgsy has posted them for download. But if you are looking to learn the process hopefully someone can point you to a good source as I want to learn this as well, but haven't had time to look yet.
Go to the development section, and look for the post with something like China 2.2 ROM with everything working. Then scroll down the post, and it will show you how to deodex using Higgsy.

Maybe Im an idiot and sorry if this has been answered already I searched and could not find it. Ok so here is my noob ?? I am trying to cook up my very first Supersonic Evo rom using DRIXDAS Htc Android Kitchen, I am also trying to theme it at the same time. Now I have found and created some pretty nice stuff in both the frameworkres.apk and the htcres.apk, I think I have themed it pretty well, that being said I have been trying to add some already themed clocks and friendstream widgets to my rom. This is where the problem comes in, see i know that the themed clocks and friendstream widgets work on my phone because I have flashed the flashable .zip, after rom is up and running of course. However when i try to just add the .apk to the system app folder (either clock or friendstream.apk) then cook the rom with them already in, it doesnt work. They dont even show up. Now here is what I have tried. I have signed them using signAPK, I have also tried signing them with the kitchen, and of course I always zipalign all my .apks before cooking the rom. The process seems to go through well both signing and zipaligning, but when the rom boots niether are there. If I could get any input on this I would appreciate it. Thank you to all the Devs on here who have insprired me to try this, all being said I am having fun and learning A LOT!! Also if anyone could give me any pointers at all, like how to add a reboot option to the power settings of my rom that would also be helpful. Any tips that anybody can think of that I wouldnt know about would be awesome. Again thanx to Devs and anybody on this website for there imformative info on rom developing and theming!
Try just swapping the apks no signing or kitchen see if that works for you!
I presume you are using ubuntu so just drag and drop
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Thanx but I tried that already, no go the niether the themed clock nor the themed friendstream were in the rom after it was cooked and installed. And I am using windows 7 so I have to use cygwin, only other alternative would be to set up ubuntu vm, wich I can do if anyone thinks that would make a difference.
Thanx anyways.
BTW Just as a side note I love the Kings UNleashed Ultra R2 rom, very nice work indeed sir!
So if your like me and like to change the theme's of your phone this is literally the website to do it!
uot.dakra.lt/kitchen <---- Copy/Paste that in your address bar.
It's a theme kitchen and it works on any phone, any ROM, and any version of Android (2.2 , 2.3)
-----------
FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. I'm not at fault here, they even have a Youtube video on how to do it.
Sorry guys, let me lay things straight before confusion and cyber authority kick in, I DID NOT CREATE THIS KITCHEN. I give ALL credit to the person who put their life into it, please donate to them.
I just saw this on the internet and wanted to share with the XDA family!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay guys, some of you are having trouble with the kitchen, I'll just break down the instructions:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Whatever ROM your CURRENTLY using, open it and find the Framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk
{Remember, it'll only work with your current ROM, flashing it to another ROM will send you in a never ending boot, because I've done that, anyways, if you change ROMS, you need to re-cook the whole theme with your new current ROM's APK's}
2. Choose your selections, generate previews and what not
Froyo ROMS do not support transparent ANYTHING so do not select it. If your on a Gingerbread ROM then your good and you can check 'enable transparency in status bar' in the Status Bar section
3. Upload your APK's in correct order in the 'File Upload' category
4. As soon as step 3 has been performed, go to 'Summary' and hit 'Submit to Kitchen' If a category is red simply go back and generate the preview
5. If you get an error log in the 'Pickup' page, I don't know what happens so sadly you have to go re-cook your ROM again.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guys this should work like a charm with little to no trouble, I'm young and did this with a breeze.
Happy Theme-ing everybody!

Great find and thanks for sharing it in the G2 community, best way to theme a rom with your own personal preferences.
I gave this a try, seems easy & straightforward to use. However, do you have to make a donation in order to submit your created theme to that kitchen?

UNLOCK OUR BOOTLOADERS
Will this work with stock rom.
@cubanito151 If you follow the instructions carefully it will.
It works on all roms.
Anyone else having issues with the mods sticking? I only did the battery icon mod and it worked at first but now its gone and back to the stock look.
This is pretty lame that its not sticking and reverts back to the old battery icon.

What ROM are you using?
And when will it not stick? When you do a reboot?

Ok as some of you know, i have been working on a UVLH1 Rom and its almost close to completion. I ran into just two problems i need help on, how do i implement the advanced power menu/4-way boot because i have been checking around the forums and i cant seem to find a good tut or guide anywhere and my last problem is i have been trying to change the text name after hitting 'reboot' on a modded blue 15 status bar toggles that i have gotten from Rushing's thread and its the name that shows next to the exclamation mark symbol, i have went into res/values/strings.xml and then where it says string name hamster, i have changed it to my touchwiz's rom name and then i compiled the #666-res.apk. I then added the meta folder and android.manifest from my original unmodded #666-res.apk into the new one and i placed it into the system/framework folder, flashed the rom, and all i get is a systemUI is not responding error after i do this. Can someone help me i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks...

hello I would like your help to decompile and recompile the Contacts.apk. now I have installed on my s3 the Paranoid Android 2.16 and have already changed most of the apk without problems while the contacts ...... Apk Manager seems to do its job, but when it is installed on the phone I get an error and the apk will not start. Can you help me?
I myself hate it when people post in wrong section but I hate even more when people act like douchebags to them for making a mistake but come on dude really what part of this post is your own original android dev work? You've been here more than two years have more than 50 posts and still don't know which section is which. I just can't defend you.

I have posted a request for a zip file containing an AOSP Lockscreen to run on touchwiz base GS3 T999. I have not been helped and feel really left out. I really like XDA and have read and learned some new things regarding my G3S T Mobile. Came across some forums about the modded AOSP screen zip file but not for my phone. Could someone, PLEASE, PLEASE help me to find one or even make one if that's not to much to ask?
Thank you in advance,

Can you link me to the request thread in question ? I will take a look. Also please link to the Zip file that's not for your phone.
As far as Lock Screens go, AOSP and Touchwiz are not compatible. Having said that, Most of AOSP roms prefer Dash Clock or other such Lock Screen Widgets. If you really are looking for AOSP experience on Touchwiz, you can try Magic Locker app in play store.
He might want to look into Xposed modules too. I know they have a mod for it, but he has to learn how to use Xposed first.
Also, I really want to say that I remembered seeing an AOSP lockscreen zip in Themes and Apps, but it might have been in another forum section since I bounce around so much. I'll look for it in the next few days or so.
If all else fails, flash an AOSP ROM and theme it TWiz style. That's a sure fire way to get best of both worlds *cough* unless you still want wifi calling and other TWiz features will be lost *cough*.

I don't think he wants to leave Touchwiz. If he is wiling to then there's a lot of choices out there. Me, I'd use this app if I am on Touchwiz.

Thanks guys for the response! I am using Dandroid and love it but eventually I want to go back to using stock rom. This Dandroid is running AOSP Screen with Touchwiz and there are some forums showing AOSP screen zips for some Galaxies on T mobile but not for the GS3. I did try some of the zips but it didn't do anything, and I was trying to reply to a person who adjusted one to work for a Galaxy but he didn't respond back and that is why I was trying to post some new ones to get some help.
Thanks,

I don't know how to complie decomplie but I could learn. I am using a macbook running os x. And if I search the forums which I did for a AOSP lockscreen for TMO GS3 I get some hits but nothing pertaining to my exact phone model. But there are some that are made for the Note I thought.I am also using Xposed App but didn't find a module for a AOSP Screen, per the prior post from

What about this one?
[MOD][Xposed] AOSP Lockscreen even though it's from the Note II section, someone got it to work on their SGS3 (Int'l variant though). Seems to work on multiple devices and multiple OEMs too.

The AOSP lockscreen in Dandroid came from S3Rx. If you want the stock look, use S3Rx, not Dandroid.
This is a job for a custom ROM. I feel like you're trying to reinvent the wheel.

+1. If you are using Dandroid, Ask the developer, they'd know of compatibility better.

You need to install the apk from
http://dl.xposed.info/latest.apk
After done, run that app. That's actually an installer which will do its own process. Follow through and then finish it. Once that's finished, try th AOSP apk you just now installed.

Yea MAN! It works on my stock 4.1.2. Although I have a few more questions if you don't mind? 1st the one AOSP I was using on the DANDROID had a way to access on the screen options to add more apps in the lock screen. I wonder if this can be done? And 2nd do you know if this will work when I update to 4.3 stock when it comes out? Just some thoughts but again thanks a million!!!

The On screen options to add more is called Lock Screen Widgets. That's pure AOSP feature. Yes go right ahead. It will work just fine. If you come across other modules that use Xposed apps then they too will work for you.
I do believe for 4.3, the Xposed Apps APK you just got will be updated. You will then have to get the latest apk. Or perhaps you could be lucky and it is already updated.

Cool thanks. Still a little confused though. The module is active and working AOSP Lockscreen 1.1 but there is no options listed to change apps on the screen. I checked in the settings, lock screen, lock screen options and screen lock but there is nothing. No widget either to allow for customizing apps. Am I missing something?
Thanks,
