After i inserted the SN it says that this update is not suitable for my device.
How is that possible?!?!
I have the EU GSM Version.

Have you tried the official post in Rhodium development section? they're same like in the htc official website.
I finally downloaded the 6.5 official update but it says its not a good vendor or something when i try to install it. I guess its not made for my region/country.
Oh well...
Hi, I faced the same problem on HTC official website. What did you do?
Thanks,
I found a good SN on a website so i could download it, but you wont be able to flash your phone to the rom because its not suitable for your device, meaning in EU only Western Europe has an update. Eastern Europe still doesn't have an update to 6.5.
I bought a HTC Touch Pro 2 in Malaysia
I went to the HTC South East Asia site but when i enter the S/N it gives me this error
"Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device."

Have anyone found a way around this ?
Also had this issue with a UK Orange branded TP2
I mailed HTC and got this reply;
You recently wrote us about an issue that you have encountered with your device.
To clarify your issue, you stated that you have not been able to download an update from our website.
If your device is network branded or locked your network has restricted your access to our downloads. If you wish to download an upgrade to your device you will need to contact your network. They may have customised updates available on their website.
Another possibility is that you have been trying to download a version which is not suitable for your region (as example an Eastern European ROM for a Western European device) which is not possible.
So looks like its Orange that's at fault in my case. I contacted Orange and kicked up a stink as they advertised the phone with the feature of being able to update to wm6.5. They told me that they are working on it and it should be available soon...... :/
When they get it sorted they say it'll be here;
http://www.business.orange.co.uk/servlet/Satellite?c=OUKDevice&cid=1242977836148&extarg1=Phone&pagename=Business&t=SMEDeviceDownloads
Anyone else got it sorted on Orange already tho?

I had this issue too on the SEA Website.
I told them, they fixed it and all good now...
Cheers

The branded phones need to make their own updates. Thats HTC's rule.
Some mobile operators might release updates, some might not.
Yip...had the same problem today. I brought my TP2 from NZ 3 months ago and wasnt locked to any one provider there.
Now back in Indonesia I've tried getting the 6.5 Rom upgrade on both HTC's euro website and Asia/Pacific website and have come up with the same message....bummer.
I hope it gets sorted cos I was told by the vendor that it was upgradable....

My Desire was bought from O2, so has it's firmware.
I'm moving abroad next month, will I still get an update to 2.2 ?
I won't be using O2.. will that stop me ?
Would I be better flashing it with a generic rom ?
Thanks

It's about choice...
Why you need flashing? if you Desire daily usage for Phone, SMS, Chat and Check Email and little bit Browse the net.. I think wait until official release for Desire much better than Rooted/Flashing your phone
Thanks for the reply.
I'd prefer not to flash or root it if I can help it.
The question really is will a UK O2 Desire automatically upgrade to 2.2 if used in New Zealand, with Vodafone ?
Thanks
Probably not. My understanding is that receiving updates is dependent on your current version. I'm on Meteor in Ireland, for example, but I won't receive any specific Meteor updates, because I have the generic HTC firmware.
So if you're on a kiwi network, with the O2 software, you'll get neither the HTC update nor any update your new network rolls out.
So either debrand now and get the HTC update whenever it's released, or wait until it comes out and flash the 2.2 rom directly.
One other thing you could do is take it to Vodafone in New Zealand and ask them to flash their own software on it. Since you're a new customer, they'll most likely oblige.
But that's if they even stock the Desire, btw. If they don't you'll have to do it yourself.
One thing to keep in mind re:carrier specific firmwares is that it may take an awfully long time for upgrades to trickle down. You could be looking at an additional month or more between HTC releasing it and your carrier releasing it.
And even when they do, they might disable certain features (wi-fi tethering, for example, isn't too popular with mobile operators)
Thanks
that is what I'd thought..
I suppose the only other thing would be if O2 released it for download, then I could manually install it !!
Are there still issues with wifi and the generic rom ?
Yeah, that's another way. Bookmark this link:
http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Bravo/
The only issues were with people who people who debranded their phone and flashed to the generic rom. But for anybody else, there's no issues whatsoever.
Thanks
If I change the ROM is there any risk ? I'm not bothered about root, but would like to have the option of 2.2 when I'm not in the UK.
can you point me to a firmware flashing guide ?
Thanks again.
Well this is the latest (generic) rom update:

Very easy to install. Just download the .exe to your PC, and open it while your phone is plugged in. The installer will walk you through.
I don't know if it's that simple for branded phones though. You might have to debrand first... I honestly couldn't say. You might ask in that thread and list your FW number. Maybe somebody else will know.
You're sure it's a branded phone, yes? There's no .405 in the version number?
My firmware is : 1.20.207.3 CL171460 release-keys
I'll ask in the other forum.
Thanks
hi, everyone in Australia. who has the idea when it will have the new update for the DHD?
since i delete the weather apps my system looks like not very health, the com.htc.bgp problem cames out very often.
anyone knows how to fix it? if the update does not work?
cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeers
You need to be a bit more specific concerning which ROM you're using. Is it the unbranded WWE one or the one from Voda? I'm in Sydney and got my phone from Clove in the UK and I'm running the latest 1.72 ROM.
If you're using a unlocked unbranded DHD with a stock rom you just need to go to Settings> About Phone> System Software Updates>Check Now
thanks you two. i use the Vodafone Rom. I tried to check the update, but it said there are no updates for your phone.
well does anyone know how to do with the com.htc.bgp wrong message?
You'll just have to wait for vodaphone to release the update, and no sorry I can't help with that
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Finally Vodafone DE released Froyo update, it's available on Motorola Software Update.
Could anybody share the SBF? Thanks a lot.
I thought, this was an OTA update?
I can see it on Motorola Software Update site (direct.motorola.com) with pdf description (Blur_Version.3.4.2.179.4.4.MB525VF360.DE.v8.pdf). Doesn't it mean that the update is also available on MSU ?
Am looking for the same for Vodafone España. Need to put official firmware on before sending the phone back to get the earpiece repaired for the second time.
Yes it is now available on msu, please upload the sbf.
Vodafone España Official Froyo sbf
German version still wanted.
Vodafone DE Defy Froyo
Hi @all,
Vodafone DE Froyo is available. My Boss did this update on Sunday over the air.
I make the retail update a few days earlier.
I want to change to Vodafone DE Froyo, but ota it is not available for me.
Can anybody share it??
THX,
Andy
I've received the Voda DE OTA update 2 days ago, my phone is not rooted (yet). If you still need the SBF please post the steps I shall execute and I try to create it. (I have been falshing my other phones only, not the defy)
To get SBF file you need to update your phone using Motorola Software Update (MSU) on PC. Copy SBF file from firmware folder in MSU installation directory right after the download phase.
Thanks for your help.
I've installed the update OTA, MSU is not downloading anything for me unfortunately
Is there still some interest in the VF.de update? We have about 60 devices in our company and I just downloaded the sbf and msu. Are both needed? I will try to upload it somewhere.

Yes, I'm interested, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

There you go. Tell me if the .msu is also needed.
Edit:
Tested it myself with stock-froyo on a VF.de device (for testing). Looks like all the others now and worked fine with RSD Lite.
Thank you, downloading now.
I know this is probably a long shot but is anyone able to let me have the 4.1 O2 branded firmware for the Xperia M (C1905)?
I've followed the guides on this site to root the Global version of 4.3 but was hoping I could go back to factory settings and get all the Playstation, O2, etc apps off it before upgrading again.
Thanks in advance!
