If it doesn't exist already. I feel like that'd be a great addition to an already awesome ROM. Especially if it works and is set up like the one on OMFGB, where going into the scripts to change the toggles isn't needed. Also, remapping the SoftKey search button on the actual device from Genius Button to a regular browser (unless the Genius Button gets working at some point - I know it's a beta).

Does anyone have a modified Rosie for SR4 that switches Phone & Apps while still allowing us to remap the right button? When I flashed the one from Berserker for SR3.5 it works fine but I loose the ability to remap the right button.

I'm actually looking for the same thing. I hope somebody sees this thread and helps us out with this.
I remember asking IHTFP and ACD about this very thing when 4.0 released and the answer I got was no. I liked having my app drawer in the middle too, but it has something to do with the right button mapping. Since using 4.0 I'd much rather have the right button for my camera rather than the app drawer switch.
this is a Passionate Desperate Plea to all Developers. Please, Please, Please (in my culture the amount of times you say please infers the passion of the plea) include an option in the ROMS to remap and customize the way the menu function works in ICS.
after having used the Galaxy Nexus extensively i am fond of having my menu options on the action bar and am even willing to have my screen real estate reduced by the now infamous 3dots
all current mods move the menu button around the physical buttons but this still removes the action button on any ICS native apps, thereby defeating the purpose.
so my suggestion would be to have the following:
STOCK ICS with 3 Dots
Menu on Recent Apps
Menu on Hold Home
and have this as an option in all ROMS if possible including CM9, AOKP etc, for all ICS roms on all phones
Wrong section mate ...
please advise me on where i should put it
And also, no longer an issue, except maybe in AOSP-based ROMs because the new 4.0.4 Sense base has much better native functionality for reassignment of the 'Recent Apps' key with no affect on native apps.

1. can be found in Cyanogen 9
2. the option is given by HTC on their newest base (2.05)
3. possible with older base and 3dotMOD...see in AROMA...with new base its on hold recent apps...
thanks ill check out a 2.0x ROM, downloading one as we speak. the thing is I saw it in the MIUI ROM as well. thought itw as native to ICS, let me see
Hi, I'm running The Collective's jellybean rom and while I love it, it is a tad unstable. With the occasional FC's of the task switcher.
Through using multiple options from AOKP, CM10 and Paranoid I've managed to disable the front hard buttons on the phone (including the back light) and enable the onscreen buttons as found on a Galaxy Nexus. I much prefer this to the stock hard buttons as it makes the screen much easier to one hand than before.
So my question is: if I switch to another rom, whats the best way to allow me to disable the front hard buttons and enable the onscreen buttons? I'd be interested if a single rom allows this or, even better a program or app to accomplish this.
thanks in advance, I did a forum search for "soft buttons" but nothing really came up.
Its called the navigation bar and most (all aosp) ROMs have it.
Thanks for the reply, its great to hear thats a standard feature on mostly all roms, I'll be much more will willing to flash other roms in the future. I've gotten really used to the soft buttons and I'd hate to lose that feature with different roms.
hi all,
i just found out a dusted HTC Desire...
the menu button was not working , and i havent tested the middle joistik before, i dont even know what it does or how it works....
i opened the smartphone, cleaned good the pieces (it was really dusted)....
now, the menu button do the same effect as pressing home + volume up at the same moment....
and the joistik button do the same as pressing the voulme down button....
what i can do? try clean it again better?
i dont feel like the menu button is completely dead :silly:
any ideas?
i want to clean up well the phone to give it to a friend and also power it up with a cool rom....
if , at the end, i will not repair the buttons, exist a rom that have virtual buttons (like nexuse)
thanks for all the help....
Not sure how to fix your hardware problems, but an alternative would be to user the navigation bar (soft keys) like on nexus devices. You will need a 4+ ROM to enable the navbar, but to easily control the size I would recommend the PA ROM in my signature. It allows you to change height/colour of the navbar easily, whereas in other ROMs you will need to flash stuff/make changes to the build prop to enable it.

Forgive me if this is obvious. I'm coming from CM 10.1 and the LG interface is a huge turn off. I would expect the icon with three horizontal lines next to the home soft key to bring up the app switcher but it doesn't. Can I get that functionality on the G Pad? TIA.

I would like this to know the answer to this too. Is there any way to enable the default Jelly Bean launcher?
I figured it out after googling. You press and hold the home soft key.
Cm can't come fast enough on this tablet

Long press on home key is the default way to bring up the app switcher. You can install GMD Auto Hide app, you can set it up to give you a dedicated key to bring up the app switcher.

I hope it doesn't become inconveniently obvious that when I ask questions about using LG's interface that I am completely inexperienced with android phones. What I know comes from my satisfying CM 10.1 experience on two Nook tablets.
So anything that is familiar from the LG phone world (makes sense they'd do that) I won't know.
Two other things I'd like to do.
Eliminate the screaming half screen notification pull down for something "normal."
Change the background on the settings app to black rather than white.
Thanks,
Ron
you can use 3finger left slide to" minimize" an app and then recall sliding to the right too

You can change the soft buttons with Xposed Mod.

I expected different behaviour, too
Has also much more abilities than just changing the navigation bar.
Nice workaround for some things, until custom roms (hopefully) arrive ;D
