[Q] How to change lock slider? - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there anywhere I can get Lockscreen sliders for DHD? And is it possible to flash them through CWM?
I have been looking and I can't seem to find them. Thanks

There is an app on the market called widget locker, which allows you to have a choice of many different sliders (it also allows you to place any widget on your lockscreen) it can be slow at times (although it may not be on a HD as the last time I used it was on a Hero)

Yeah I tried widget locker but it didn't have much of a nice look. Plus i was after something flashable with CWM. This way its more native. thus faster. Thanks anyway

If you like the AOSP Lockscreen, you can just rename or delete (of course i would recommend to rename first) /system/app/HtcLockScreen.apk

I use Revolution HD and there it works, too. Maybe it really doesn't work with the stock ROM, but who uses stock?

Is there a way to change the slider to answer calls because i still have the stock htc one

This would be interessting for me too. Im also with the leedroid and deleted the lockscreen apk, but for incoming calls there is still the htc lockslider.

You have to use a different alarm clock Application. Had this problem on my old HTC Hero and ended up using Klaxon for the alarm

I just wanna know the reason for putting the bootanimation.zip to /data/local.
Pardon me for asking such question because i'm only aware about the /system/media method.

The reason is some asop and other.custom roms have their boot animation file.at.data local !! So those on cm or asop.will.complain.that it doesnt work thats why i have instructed to copy it to both locations !!!

hi, great post. thank you.
i am using an unrooted SGS2.
i guess i cant use all of these unrooted. just installing the apk files whichever has it, is an option for me rite. like the sense launcher, lockscreen and sense clock?? does it require rooting too?
just a quick question: the sense 4 clock does have also the animation?
and also this kind of animation can be added to the lockscreen?

[MOD] Digital Clock FULLY TRANSPARENT - AccuWeater Widget TOTALLY&SEMI-TRANSPARENT!!!

[MOD] Digital Clock FULLY TRANSPARENT - AccuWeater Widget TOTALLY&SEMI-TRANSPARENT!!!
HI GUYS ...I am Tuqano.....If I do something wrong, I apologize in advance .....
I am a novice in this field, and I decided to start with a simple thing, so I created a completely transparent version of AccuWeather.....it is very easy to install, here's the procedure:
1. Remove the AccuWeather widget that you have, possibly, in the home.
2. Using RootExplore, go to: system> app> look for "SamsungWidget_WeatherClock.apk"
3. Make a backup of "SamsungWidget_WeatherClock.apk" (add ".bak" to "SamsungWidget_WeatherClock.apk")
4. Still using RootExplorer, copy the file you downloaded (AccuWeather Totally Transparent) in the folder: system> app.
5. After copying the files, set permissions rw-r--r--.
6. Now enjoy the new widget, COMPLETELY TRANSPARENT!!
Here the screenshoots....

....and here the "digital clock widget" fully transparent!!!

You must do the same AccuWeather procedure, but now u must to backup and replace "DigitalClock.apk".....same permissions too (rw-r--r--)
Here the .apk

Now do it to the S3 accuweather widget

Check the permissions of the apk.
Also, check to see you didn't throw a de-odex APK (as described in Post #1) into an odex'ed ROM, without removing the .odex first.
My money's on the permissions (assuming you're using a Sense 2.1 ROM, as you say).

You could download the zip and see it's folder structure and then use any filemanager with root access and copy to a safe place like your sdcard or you could use ROMToolbox. Maybe titanium can backup fonts and animations too?
And I think in one of the original threads the OP has an backup zip tool of some kind.

I intended to do that, but I saw that framework.res is modified and I have also a modified framework ( crt off , effect, and ics lockscreen) so If I overwrite it with this one will I loose my other modifications?
Or has anyone tried this on a XWLPG is it working fine?

Don't think so but I'm not 100%, see I already had CRT off and ICS lockscreen and it is still there.
I'm guessing this mod only alters animations and font and leaves the rest untouched somehow?

I haven't used your mod, but used the original mods separately and both of the work just fine. I don't like the fonts though, so reverted to default roboto.

There is the option for no lockscreen at all, which is what I chose. I don't like the default one either.
I'm not too much a fan of the lockscreen either. Right now I'm using default ics theme on widgetlocker and using clokr for the clock. Looks and feels much nicer.

Would these hold on reboots? I thought \system\app wouldn't hold on reboot due to write protection.
Lastly, if they do hold on reboot would I be able to return to stock by changing it back to .apk?

Would these hold on reboots? I thought \system\app wouldn't hold on reboot due to write protection.

Those are great questions that hopefully CNexus can answer for you because I haven't a clue. In fact, I've been waiting to hear back on your experience before trying it myself. =)
It seems to me that it should work as expected if the files were renamed but I'm not sure about the write protection though.
Flash aroma file manager in recovery and rename from there. If you do it while the system is booted it will not hold since there is no kernel source to disable system write protection at the moment

I just tried this, but it does not show /app under /system. Only /bin. Any idea why?
Just saw this in the Q/A forum. Props to XPEric who stumbled upon it.
Without root you can get the ASOP lockscreen.
1. Go to system/apps
2. Copy HTCLockscreen.apk
3. Paste in /sdcard
4. Try to install (it will fail)
5. Reboot and you will have the ASOP lockscreen
I have no idea why this works but it does.

Yeah, the problem is there doesn't seem to be a way to reverse it if you were to change your mind (except with a backup of course). The solution here (if rooted) would allow me to rename the files to get the HTC Lockscreen back if I changed my mind.

Were you able to get it to work by renaming the 7 idlescreen APK files to .bak? I made sure I got all 7, but it never booted into the phone. I had to change them back for it to boot.
