I post this question for 2 weeks on Q & A. but nobody could help me.. i installed the EPST 2.1 and dosnt work for this rom... it's any other way.? ty
Have you tried flashing a Sense ROM (Sprint Lovers, Myn's, etc.) and then changing your MMS server? It might/should carry over to the Gingerbread ROM.
You could even keep a nandroid of a Sense ROM so if you need to go and update profile/PRL, you don't have to set it up from scratch each time.

well I try most of the GB rom. and I love them bc the battery life and the new graphics. and yes I did flash the GB rom into a sense rom.. but if i dont do a full swipe something always pop wrong..! its not a prob change that setting in froyo ##3282# plus the sub code.. but its something else on GB rom..!
Hash codes do not work for any AOSP rom. If u don't want to backup gb rom and flash sense rom, myns method above is probably the only way to change it in a GB build

i know. but what i was saying was it seems like this is the way to fix it maybe?
i don't know much about switching the mms server. i've never done it so i don't know exactly what the issue is. just trying to help.
if you read post #14 on the second page, the guy says that's how he got it to work. so, maybe you'll have to wait for a non-AOSP Gingerbread ROM so that you can use that method. from what i've seen that you changed, and comparing it to my own xml file, it would work if that were the solution alone.
i also should've asked, did you go into recovery after changing the apns.xml file and clear cache and dalvik-cache? not sure if that would have an effect but it's possible.

Found the string on my phone but everthing i try will not make it stay. I,ve tried to soft reset hold the power button and turn back on but with the XDA AT&T back. I was trying to find that string in the default.hv file but its not in there. This is the only thing close to that string =
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\State\Phone]
"Phone Status Flags"=dword:10
Is there another way to change while i'm making a rom?

ok found out where I can change the XDA part of the current operators name.
HKLM\software\oem\phonesettings\longnameprefix or you can disable the XDA part by changing 1 to a 0 decimal on enable3glongnameprefix.
I do not know of this what you want, but you may be looking for this "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\RIL\OperatorNames" where you want to add a key (string) with your operator code (i.e. "22601"="My network").
Some codes I found here:
http://www.firstphoneshop.co.uk/mob...ra-information---service-provider-codes.shtml
In my case I use:
<!-- Network custom name -->
<characteristic type="HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\RIL\OperatorNames">
<parm name="22601" value="Vodafone RO" datatype="string" />
</characteristic>

Hey!
This doesn't seem to work...
I'd like to announce a FREE webapp that I've just created, CabGen. It allows you to quickly and easily convert your <wap-provisioningdoc> xml configuration file into an installable .cab file. I wanted this functionality for my own apps, so I decided to make it a little more generic and give it to the community! If you don't know what wap-provisioningdoc means, then this probably isn't for you but for those of you who know what it means, I hope this is helpful!

Interesting, is your xml lengthy? I just tried it again without a problem. Maybe it was a one-time hiccup?

How i can generate a cab with this xml/reg:
Code:
<wap-provisioningdoc>
<characteristic type="Registry">

</characteristic>
</characteristic>
</wap-provisioningdoc>
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\CHome]
"DefaultXML"="<Plugins Order=\"CMyPhotos;CMusic;CPhone;CVoicemail;CClock;CText;CEmail;CAppointments\" CPRFileName=\"Titanium\" DisplayStyle=\"Titanium\" />"
"ExtensibilityXML"="<Plugins Order=\"CMyPhotos;CMusic;CPhone;CVoicemail;CClock;CText;CEmail;CAppointments\" CPRFileName=\"Titanium\" DisplayStyle=\"Titanium\" />"
that cointains double quotes? I tried """ but it didn't work...thanks!

This is strange, i copied your configuration and tested it in my comupoter, it works fine.
If you opened CVE and close it normally (the configuration will be saved again while cloing), the configuration should not not looks like your posted. the lanuguage should be the first element of configuration node. It may caused by path you placed CVE or permission issue.

The exception is caused by some color string of TextStage element in your CPR file, normally, i define the color in CPR file use the #FFxxxxxx pattern.
it seems that the color definition between WM and WPF have inconsistent rules. So can you look through the CPR file and try to find out whether there is any color definition in <TextStage/> section is not follow the rule?
I will update my code to fix the problem if you can kindlly post the inconsistant rule. Thx.

Even maps for Australia are available!
Display always landscape??
it doesn´t work correct - i always get landscape in portrait mode. So I can´t see the whole screen?
How can I change this behaviour?
THX
Re: Display always landscape??
There is a NavLoader.cfg in the Navigon Dir.
Look at the "RotateSCR" keyword.
Is it set to 4 (=270 deg)?
I cant get this to work.
It starts and says something about no map and den the screen goes in landsacape and is black. In the background I can see that the program is started but I cant do anything except remove the battery.
Now I have made one progress, it starts shows the startup screen fine and then the menu blinks and the program stops.

Yes, I think I got it right, should I change every file tag to my storage path?
I think I have missed something in my ApplicationSettingsPathes.xml because I have tried with the original binaryconfig file and then the graphics is to small. And on my first try I had missed a trailing / in the navloader.cfg, and got another error.
Can you post your ApplicationSettingsPathes.xml here please.

I will not post everything again in one package, because of the different languages you have to change a few things manually.
Its not crap just because its not running on your Mini...

Dear all Flashoholics and Chefs
One of joy or painfully of flashing new ROM is seeing or not the auto APN works on fresh ROM. Of course manual APN config is not so hard but sometime it turn me off to enjoy yours very hardworking, chefs.
After few time failed to figure out the issue that happened to my carrier Mobifone, finally, today I find out this issue and I want to share my experience with people who got same problem.
Normally, if some thing wrong with auto APN, I am looking for problem in APNs-conf.xml located in system/etc/ and my carrier name, access point name, user name ans password already there.
<apn carrier="Mobifone" mcc="452" mnc="00" apn="m-wap" user="mms" server="" password="mms" mmsc="" type="default,supl"/>

I try to overwrite it by an working apns-conf.xml from 'working' build but no luck.
Till now, after Google-ing I found the problem is I overwrite it too late, after flashing, apns-conf.xml to gets the sack and another star went in to the stage telephony.db located in /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db
see excellent articale from Dr. Pei Zheng's Mobile Computing Blog
In my case, I use SQLite Editor to check and found my manual APN with correct data at the bottom of the list, correct
mnc="01"
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
like I found in 'working' apn list or similar to manual APN and then auto APN works like a charm!
So, for flashoholics experience same my trouble, before flash you new favorite ROM, check your APNS-CONF.XML before flashing, if your carrier data is not correct, extract it out, correct it, delete wrong one, drop corrected one in ROM. Enjoy perfect ROM.
So, for chefs, would you kindly spare some time to check this small items and correct it so your ROM become perfect one.
My working auto APN ROM, say white list are: TYTUNG NEXUS HD2, LANGTHANG MIUI ROM
My painful list name a few are: stock MIUI, BPSenseZv1.0_eu,HD2_Core_Droid_Desire_HD_Froyo_V1.7_RV, TyphooN CyanogenMod 7,...
I post my working APNs List in attachment.
ANy body having manually edit APN, post your case below, I'll try to update it in 2nd post and update apns-conf.xml
Thanks
Edit: just found another topic about update APN
Once you have obtain an updated version of the apps-conf.xml file, you run the following commands using the Android Developer Kit.
Code:
adb remount
adb push apns-conf.xml /system/etc
adb shell chmod 755 /system/etc/apns-conf.xml
adb reboot
I just found out that to save the existing APN list you use the command below which will save the existing apns-conf.xml file to the local PC. I also discovered that when I went to view the global APN list on the phone, nothing was listed, it was all blank. I’ve just read tho, that if you press “RESTORE DEFAULTS” in the APN view, they should appear…. test time!
Code:
adb pull /system/etc/apns-conf.xml D:\android\APN
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
But I haven't test is yet! You may try it instead of edit db file and let me know it works?
My 1st case: wrong MNC=00, right MNC=01
<apn carrier="Mobifone" mcc="452" mnc="01" apn="m-wap" user="mms" server="" password="mms" mmsc="" type="default,supl"/>
Nice thread. A lot of people have problems with apn.

Same problem with CM7 nightly on my N1 with Mobifone, using TB to restore the manual added APN.
Tks for this tip.
Good Topic.
Anybody have problem with apn auto setup post here.
We'll update to ROM
Is there anyway to add another t-mobile apn
wap.voicestream.com is what i use for t-mobile data apn.
my apn is :
<apn carrier="MCC" mcc="310" mnc="260" apn="mcinet" user="" server="" password="" mmsc="" type="default,supl"/>
can i add just this apn to apns-conf and delete them ???

You can try to add like this syntax and save as your own apns-conf.xml.
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<apns version="8">
<apn carrier="T-Zones WAP" apn="wap.voicestream.com" user="none" password="none" mmsc="http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc" mcc="xxx" mnc="yyy" operator="T-Mobile" type="default,supl,mms" />
</apns>
Most important is APN, MCC, MNC. You also can get it by install market enabler and read actual Values: gsm.sim.operator.numeric = xxxyyy, your MCC = xxx, MNC= yyy.
You also can check your Carrier via this page Mobile Network Codes (MNC) for the international identification plan for public networks and subscriptions (According to Recommendation ITU-T E.212 (05/2008))2009
Please feedback your experience so as we may update it!

Yes, you can make your own apns-conf.xml use only your APN with 1 simcard only and saving few hundred KB on your ROM. See above post.
But your APN is really mcinet? Your carrier is MCI Iran? If it is correct so yours are mcc="432" mnc="11".
mcc="310" mnc="260" is T-mobile US.
Pls feedback!
