im on skyraider 3.5 and am wondering if there is a way to use a tall image on the home screen and have it stay there and not slide when you slide screens, is there any tweak or app to do this?
Thanks,
Matt
Both adw and LP have a setting for this.
LauncherPro
Menu -> Preferences -> Appearance Settings -> Enable Wallpaper Scrolling
I would rather not change launchers, isn't the any other way? What I'm really looking is how to choose the whole picture and not have to crop it with the green box and then have it not move

How do you get the "zoom" transitions using ADW? (like Launcher Pro) I've tried everything and can't find the settings. Animations are turned on, I don't know where else to look.
Thanks.
Alex
What type of zoom transition are you looking for... on the preview screens or the drawer

I'm talking about the transitions from any application to the home screen. I watched an ADW demo on YouTube and noticed that it was transitioning between screens the way Launcher Pro and iPhones do.

Can you post a link to the video...not quite following...but want to help
If you mean by pressing the home button you transition from the app to the main home screen then go to...
Menu->Settings->ADWLauncher->System Preferences->Home button binding

The "shoot out" 3D effect? Hmm I don't know I use launcherpro plus
Here's the link in Youtube. Look at time 2:50 and you can see how the screen zooms back to the home screens.

thanks for helping.
Ahhhh....that's not ADW....
Menu->Settings->Display->Animation
You can have the some or all animations...not sure which is your fancy...
Did this get you what you wanted?
Yep, this took care of it. Thanks for pointing that setting out.

How did you take care of it? I have "All Animations" selected and I still do not see the same screen transitions when opening any apps or the menu.

Click to collapse
Then your not doing it right.
Go to settings and select no animations. go home open any app see what happens. Now exit back to home and go to settings and select all animations and then go back to home and select and app and see the diffrence.

Strange...try selecting no animations...reboot...then select all...if that does not work....boot into recovery...wipe both cache....really reboot

Mate got ZTE blade other week and has that menu that looks like a box when your scroll, take it its part of the base android? Is there anyway to get this and still have sense installed? Thanks
i am not sure what you mean by box? but it looks like ADW launcher. you need to go in the menus and change the bottom part from 3 to 5.
if you mean the list of all apps then look up gingerbread launcher by MODACO from market.
i mean box as in when you open the menu to view the, its like presented in a box type shape.

look at the menu on that phone
Adw ex go to its settings. Ui settings, drawer settings, app drawer style and choose vertical 4d

I'm on CM7 and figured out if I close the dock bar on the bottom I can still pin icons down there and it has a cool reflective effect. When I reboot I have to close the dockbar everytime. How can I make the settings stay?
I'm using the shortcut from longpressing homescreen- launcher actions- open close dockbar and keeping it on my homescreen.
Gone through adwsettings still nothing.

Good question...I was wondering the same.
And does anyone know whether CM7 has ADW or ADW Ex and can I install ADW Ex without causing problems?
@TonyArmstrong
Cm7 does not use ex, but you can install ex and use it if you like. Well, I can so you SHOULD be able to anyway

The second dockbar is considered the "hidden dockbar", and is hidden by default whenever ADW launches. I'm pretty sure there's no way to use it over the main dock, you have to "close" the main one.
I use both. You can also close the dock by swiping up on the middle icon (app drawer by default). I've actually got rid of my app drawer icon altogether. With gestures on the homescreens, swipe up opens app drawer, swipe down open/closes the dock. You can set your gestures to do whatever.

Yes you can install ADW EX without any problems, it's well worth it. I use EX and it is way faster and smoother. Just be sure to uninstall the regular ADW launcher AFTER you install ADW EX so you can save memory.
Thank you for the input. I do prefer the hidden dock. Too bad there is no way to make it default. oh well still cool as hell. You can get lost in those adw settings...
Wow I wasn't aware you could put other apps in there ... hah, thanks! Looks cool, indeed unfortunate can't make it default.

are u on ADW ex? theres kind of a way to do it not exactly sure what your settings are but in ADW ex settings/ui settings/main dock/main dock style/none(expanded desktop) you wont have a launcher. then enable hidden dockbar.
someone else also mentioned you can swipe gesture appear or disappear hidden dock. i have mine swype up to do that but u can command whichever u like.
adw settings/general behavior/gestures...then choose your actions.
-hope that helps! adw ex is cool..
Hmm I'm not using ex and I can set it to none (expanded desktop) however I don't see an option for hidden dock
Thank you though I will give ex a try out.
Will I still be able to use adw settings from menu->settings-> adw settings?

Instead of menu > settings > ADW settings you will have menu > settings and menu > ADW settings separately. You can rearrange the order of the menu in ADW Ex by going to ADW settings > general behavior > system preferences > customize menu. This will put whatever you put at the end under "more".
I also don't think you can choose "none" for the main dock but keep the hidden one. I'll try & let you know if I can.
EDIT: You can choose none for the main dock bit still use the hidden dockbar. However, I think that when it launches (ie after a reboot) the dock will be hidden by default. Unless you just don't like the main dock, you might as well keep it. This is probably something only available in Ex. Another cool Ex only feature is that you can change the background for both docks separately. I love ADW Ex

hidden dock? its not under adw sett/UI settings....at the bottom?
try adw ex 3.22 in the market
I'm still using adw free that comes with cyanogenmod7..so nope
Edit: yes I see hiddendock settings.. only 3 options gonna play around with it.. but at work now. Thanks I'm blind apparently
Edit: seems to just make the original dock transparent.. cool but the reflection is gone then.. oh well
I dont think its a CM7 issue, but as the default launcher is ADW, Ill ask here first.
The main dock (with action buttons) gets removed from the screen if inadvertently 'swiped'
When it disappears, it leaves a darkened line across the bottom of the screen. Some random prodding and swiping seems to reinstate it some times, but its a bit flakey.
a) If the desktop is locked - why is this item easily removed?
b) whats the correct action to get it back on screen if its lost?
Any ideas?
Its an annoying feature of adw
Swipe down dock goes off n a new dock where u can put other app shortcut
SWIPE UP to get the main dock back
I dont remember how to disable it
I use LPP
Sent from my MB525 using XDA Premium App
To disable it: Settings > ADW Launcher > UI Settings > Uncheck "Hidden Dockbar". Done.
Hmm that works.
A little counter-intuitive perhaps as its already checked to start with (and the dockbar shows) but unchecking it certainly seems to work! Thanks
I recently rooted my phone and am using the Stockorama ROM. I'm also using Nova Launcher.
I've been wanting to change the wallpaper for my Lock screen, but when I get to the point of choosing which folder to get the picture from
all I get is the "Wallpaper" folder. Now I've looked around many threads/forums and I can't seem to find the answer.
Please help,
Thanks in advance
are you trying to set it from the home screen, or settings?
If you've replaced the launcher it won't give you access to TW gallery from home screen and maybe not settings.
Install quickpic and try it again.

Thanks for the reply, but Quickpic didn't help me.
Is un-rooting my phone the only way to change my lock screen through the Gallery (or anything other than the "Wallpaper" folder) ?
I've seen other rooted phone users online who have this option available to them. It's really frustrating because I feel like
I can't change the settings for something I paid for
I'm running nova launcher and I can change lockscreen wallpaper fine.. it doesn't give you a "set as" option in gallery?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Nova should have nothing to do with the LockScreen. Look under Settings>Security options for it, it is hidden. (I'm on CM10.1 or I'd post exactly where it is.)
Its Settings, Lockscreen actually. You can customize it there, but to set wallpaper go to Settings, Display, Wallpaper, Lockscreen.

Thanks Doc, I knew it was in a weird place, but couldn't remember exactly.
The phone won't let me change the lockscreen image AT ALL. When choosing a picture and selecting "Set As" I get the following options: Contact Photo, Nova Wallpaper, QuickPic wallpaper, Wallpaper.
When I go to Settings -> Display -> -> Wallpaper -> Lockscreen The only "Select wallpaper from" option I get is: Wallpaper (The wallpaper folder of course). Could I have done something wrong when I rooted the phone? I'm pretty new to this after all (A friend rooted my last phone for me).
Are you using the Touchwiz gallery when you do this, or a different gallery like quickpic?

I'm using the Touchwiz gallery, but the same goes for QuickPic.
+1 to the "wallpaper [app??]" ONLY choice, for the lock screen
Any luck with finding the solution? Rooted quite a few devices, so far, but the combo s3+rooted stock kills me - regardless how many picture manipulation apps I tried installing/uninstalling/making defaults (gallery, quickpic among others), when going into settings -> display -> wallpaper -> lockscreen, the only available "app" to use to choose the wallpaper is ... well ... wallpaper. Trying to set up the lockscreen from one of the picture manipulation apps, via "save as", does not work with lockscreen either.
I scanned the device for the string "wallpaper", and there are some folders obscurely placed in /data/data/com.samsung.....wallpaper/.... Maybe I should try to create my own and place them in one of those wallpaper folders??? But there ought to be an easier method, otherwise why would they offer the one mentioned in the paragraph above???
