Hi Guys,
Sorry for the stupid question, but I've updated to the latest HTC release and am aware that I can't root anymore. (Have not done it before anyway).
But does this mean that I can't download any Roms unless they're officially released by HTC, or that I can download other custom Roms, but just can't get root access to my phone, or something else?
Once again, sorry for the dumb question - but I just want to know what my limitations are now that I've updated.
Cheers
Adza
until the new HBoot is hacked, you cannot root and/or use any other ROMs than provided by HTC themselves. If you intended to do it, you should have done it before updating Otherwise, just wait a bit until the devs figure out a way around it.
Hi Waebi,
Thanks for your reply. And I understand now - cheers.
I wasn't planning on Rooting, until I found that the official HTC release has screwed me over with no Bluetooth voice dialing. I've been hanging out for that with Froyo that I'm considering ditching this phone now and going to buy something else that has it included.
Cheers
Adza
well yes, it's always sad to see a feature one wants isnt available :/
But I thought they had made quite a fuss about the voice dialing thingy and actually said it was included? Are you sure you didn't just not "find" it?
Hi Waebi,
There appear to be others who can't find it on the HTC Desire either.
Other phone releases seem to have it, as well as the custom Roms.
I naturally assumed that HTC's official release would also include it but it would appear as though they have deliberately removed it for some reason.

Yeah, i dont understand the changelog either :S
A changelog will be nice ,ths
Yeah, changelog would be fine.
But, guys, why not just release 7720? Why should any of us bother, take the risk, assuming that is full of risk, of course, just because 1~2 builds without changelogs?
We don't even know what has changed. So far as we know, you guys have put your hands on 7720.
I appreciate what you're doing. Seriously. Thanks a lot for that.
But we are eagerly waiting for 7720, not 7713,14,15.. Maybe 7719
Is it now possible to install ID_CAP_INTEROPSERVICES enabled applications with this ROM? That would be really nice to have, cause it would eliminate the need to flash NoDo, install the app and then flash Mango
Im on 7713 at the moment, i will wait till 7720 is out. Cuz 7713 is working fine from 4 days.
Does this 7714 ve fix with updates? Will this get new updates over zune? hmm y theres no change log for this one? in 7713 post you ppl said you are working to fix the updates over zune? Hmm..

Does this one work with the Spark_W or the GoldC (Verizon Trophy or SPrint Arrive) ?
Dreaming of a custom rom that is supported on CDMA devices..
Nice one bro mwang.
When trying to debug application through VS2010 I'm getting the following message:
"The application could not be launched for debugging. Ensure that the target device screen is unlock and that the application is installed."
Am I the only one? is there any solution for this? I had an original Mango rom before, and everything worked great.
Thanks.
after sign in my contect not abber and i want to but arabic languag, thanks good work

Update: Someone says ID_CAP_INTEROPSERVICES is possible on Mango http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16660105&postcount=27
Oh sorry, didn't kept track from new postings in here.
bleh815 got a sample app that uses the capability as well as the list with all know capabilities.
It is still possible to use this applications in Mango, but only if you unlocked your phone prior to Mango. However if you consider the coming Phone generations which do not have NoDo Firmware, it would be nice to have access to these capabilities through flashing the DFT or any other Firmware.
thank you very much it works great very stable ,keep going

Dear forum members,
Update on 18/10/2011
My new XAP dev tool "ansar unlock" embedded in U2M7720 V1.3 is receiving tests
Development covers Post Image Loading of M7720 OEM, SYS, and [most difficult] XIP
PILdr task is to load OEM images from Mango 7720 2 Mango 7720 ISV Beta [and not only]
With U2M7720 V1.3 we update up to Mango 7720 ISV Beta only, not to hTC update that is a trap
After update to Mango 7720 ISV beta we use ansar unlock / PILdr to Post Load XIP/OEM/SYS images
That way we keep unlock and control our devices
It is a time consuming task due to tests requirement of over flashing
Regards, ansar

this is very greats working for wp7
thank you so much
really great news From a great man >> really thank u for all thing that u did and that u will do , specially 4 wp7
thank again ^_^
Meaning what?
Ok, guys, help me out here, please. What exactly does that mean? That you managed to upgrade to Mango and maintain your dev-unlock?
If so, can that be reverse-engineered to find the weak point of Mango and eventually jailbreak it?
Last question would then be if that would be only a dev-unlock solution or a proper jailbreak with root access.
Any thoughts?
sorry but i use your U2M7720 for update my phone but I don't receive the htc update and so the usbmodemswitch doesn't run
what'is my problem ? Can you help me? now my phone is unlock but when I plug the phone on Pc , the pc doesn't recognize the modem and so the thetering don't start

Hello Ansar,
any more news on this tool? Would we be able to use this tool to jailbreak mango 7720 without going back to NODO?
Thanks Ansar!!! I am looking forward to your process as all other methods have failed for me.
Good luck Ansar - I am waiting to see if you or Heathcliff breaks this first! If either of you succeeds and it works I will show my appreciation.
any progress on this tool ansar? thanx
Hi,

I'm also curious to know, what exactly this new version can do. Afaik U2M7720 can be used to enable older WP7 versions to update to Mango. Its other part is to interop unlock a phone. And I think Ansars new version is now capable to update to a Mango version without the HTC Update.
Or am I still missing something?
I have one simple question: What is XIP? I am getting confused by all these abbreviations
Has anyone managed to get this app and instructions? I really want it.

Hi can some one tell me what the difference between [DFT Freedom ROM] Mango 7720 Schubert Custom ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=783 and [ROM]XBmod HD7 V 1.01 Build 7720 [25/09] with Custom Cab http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1276490?
I was having a problem with updating to Mango Final while remaining unlocked to the point I had to flash back to 7.0.7004.0. Now working my way back up and was wondering if I could use either of those roms and what the advantages of them are?

DFT's ROM doesn't work with XBox Live games. Go with XboxMod's ROM. I'm using that one and it has been great.

Okay thanks for the advice. At what point can I flash that rom as I am starting from scratch downgraded to 7.0.7004.0 working my way up to Final Mango Fully unlocked.
Can you advise me how to get to the point where I can flash this rom?
Thanks
HSPL your device (it's a sticky on this forum). Then flash the ROM. You don't need to do anything else.

Thanks I found the sticky you spoke of and now looking into it I saw on the first page about WP7's HSPL's being removed "Last edited by Cotulla; 11th September 2011 at 12:25 PM.. Reason: removed HD7s". But I did see my Mid PD29110 as being one that is supported. What does WP7F stand for?
What Cotulla means is that the HTC HD7S (a modified form of the HD7, sold through AT&T in the USA), isn't supported by HSPL. A first-gen HD7 (as opposed to the "1.5-gen" HD7S) should work just fine. I've used RSPL myself on my HD7, though not to flash the firmware entirely.
It's been reported that it's actually better to install HSPL early in the update chain. If you don't, you'll have to downgrade the bootloader (versions 4 and up, used in Mango, apparently don't work for R/HSPL) first. The flashing process completley wipes the phone, so aside from updating once using Zune just to create a backup you can restore to retail with, there's no point.
Over the past few days, I have been working on a new version of Seven-Eighter based off of the source code that Jaxbot kindly provided. I have made numerous improvements to the original version.
One of those improvements is instead of embedding the links to the update files as strings in the actual program, my version of Seven-Eighter downloads a config file from the internet which contains the links to the update files. In this manner, you, the user, do not have to download a new version of the program every time Microsoft releases a new update for Windows Phone 7.x. All I have to do on my end when a new update comes out is to just update the config file once I find links for the new update.
Some more improvements include improved error handling and some better instruction to help you with the update process. If you haven't yet, you should really check it out. I am curious as to what people think of my version compared to the original.
You can find the link to download my version of Seven-Eighter on my blog here: http://bit.ly/ZOzAz9
Now as such, I am always looking to improve. I welcome any and all suggestions. If you want to throw something my way to help with development you are welcome to do so, but not required (your satisfaction works just as well, check my signature for instructions).
Nice work!

To be honest, I didn't test my version of Seven-Eighter with a custom rom image (only stock factory rom image). What build is it currently running?
I have the exact same question.
I pretty much bricked by bootlaoder on my AT&T HD7S using the initial version of SevenEighter from jaxbot and now can't even use the gold card method to downgrade since I need it unlocked.
My RGB bootloader screen only shows one line of text at the top in the red and nothing in the white space where it should say USB HOST/Loader Mode.
But at least I had a 7.5 Zune backup that I can restore to, the only thing being that it doesn't restore my bootloader.
So, question is, can I use your software to upgrade to a custom unlocked 7.8?
Thank you!
I was finally able to get my Focus S upgraded to 7.8. Got tired of waiting. I had a problem with the application and had to close it. when I relaunched, it continues where it left off. Nice! I left the update.log just in case.
Now I just need to unlock it for side loading. Anyone recommend ways that still work? Thanks.
Will

anybody updated at&t titan 2 to 7.8?
Yes. The seveneighter app worked perfectly. I just wish I could install the version of htc connection setup I had on my hd2 so I could change my apn settings for my carrier instead of being locked out of my mms.
