I am moving to mexico soon,
I was wondering if there is a way to unlock my INC to work on any provider in mexico.
I need to know what companies this would work for, and what method i need to use to make this happen.
what cdma carriers are in Mexico and are they able to flash it so you can actually use your phone with all the features. If not, you can't

Here's a list of CDMA bands/carriers in Mexio. I think you'd have to find their ppp settings etc., and manually provision your phone in epst.

Yes, you can use your DInc. Right now i'm using mine with Iusacell (CDMA carrier for Mexico); i bought in US (from Verizon) but I can use it here at Mexico.
Don't sweat, it'll be stolen soon anyways so if it doesn't... HAHA! Jokes on them!

Is it possible to use the Inc 2 on US based GSM providers? I see the phone supports US GSM frequencies.
Yes but it needs to be unlocked by software. www.CDMA-guru.com is a good place if you want to do it on your own. If not take it to a shop and they can do it for you.
Yes, ask verizon global dept for the unlock code.
Most of the time they will provide it. Tell them you are traveling Asia and want it unlocked.
XTC clip also allows it.

It definitely works with Etisalat in UAE.
to confirm, i get Edge in the states on a AT&T sim.
in Asia (Vietnam) i get 3g via UMTS on Mobifone and Viettel
So lets say I wanted to get coverage in an area I normally don't but AT&T has coverage. If I unlock my phone do I have to pay for AT&T service and it is a different number or do I retain my number just pay for the service through AT&T? This is my first go around with all of this and I am not sure it will be worth it.
You have to get service with the other carrier. Which means a second number. I would recommend just doing a prepaid. Remember under your mobile networks settings you have to switch between gsm and cdma.

At&t new number or port without a contract, but you must goto a corporate owned store. Do not tell them you have a pda and sign up for the 15 dollar data plan or 30 dollar messaging and data unlimited. You can do it over the phone but they will ship you a sin card .

The One X international unlocked is only for certain GSM frequencies. Well, mainly only AT&T right now in the US.
Verizon uses CDMA and I think US Cellular does too. So it wouldn't be compatible at all and you'd have a brick on your hands.

Bottomline - You cannot use GSM phone on a CDMA network unless it is a global phone and supports both GSM and CDMA as well as the frequencies of the carrier you intend to use.
That is an obvious spam post. Please people, there are no exceptions... you CANNOT take a Sprint or Verizon phone and unlock it to be used on ANY service that is GSM or uses a SIM card. Period. The unlock sites will just take your money. World band phones will already be unlocked for use on European GSM networks most of the time so no unlock code is needed overseas.

You can flash it to another carrier though.
Not if the carrier is GSM or uses a SIM card. There is no possibility. Whatsoever. And unless you know a network level technician on verizon, you are limited to the smaller regional carriers and prepaid services to flash a Sprint phone. And vice versa for a Verizon phone. They will not connect a phone that does not already have its ESN already in its system.

Its common knowledge about gsm and cdma,if you dont know what these are then you have no business flashing carriers.
Sprint phones can be flashed to almost all prepaid carriers, overseas cdma is less common however there are ways out there to even flash cdma phone to their carriers. My father in Ukraine had his Epic 4g flashed to a carrier that uses sim cards,so there are ways even overseas.I think some overseas carriers use both cdma and gsm.

If the phone is manufactured for Verizon, like it says verizon on the device, then yes it will. However, if its a T-Mobile or ATT SGS3, then NO it wont work. ATT and T-Mobile SGS3 doesnt have CDMA bands.
If its a sprint SGS3, then yes you can unlock it to work on Verizon. Hope that clarifies things for you.

I heard the Verizon S3 is supposed to be "Global" however, remember that T-Mobile is special and uses that 1700 mHz aws frequency for 3g therefore global phones wont get 3g on tmobile. Like my Sprint Touch Pro 2 for instance

But they won't. A global phone from AT&T or T-Mobile will not work on Verizon or Sprint. A Verizon or Sprint global phone is also not likely as the other carriers will not activate it. However it is much more likely.

I hate to burst your bubble, but your most definitely wrong. Most Gsm phones for the United States will not work overseas, its just the "name" of the US network. CDMA works transparently with TDMA. If you know anything about APNs and cat radios then you'll be able to figure it out.
I have personally cracked verizon for AT&T and vice versa.

So I can use a UK phone here, but I can't use an unlocked AT&T phone in the UK? That makes no sense. So why do people overseas buy unlocked phones from the US? So they can use them for paperweights?
The difference between GSM here in NA vs the rest of the world is the frequencies used:
Most of NA and SA use 850/1900 while the majority of the planet uses 900/1800. http://www.worldtimezone.com/gsm.html
So if you want to use a phone from the US overseas it must be at least Triband or quadband (more common).
For 3G to work outside the US the phone will also need the 2100 band.
Hope this helps.

Lol, GSM phones can be used worldwide. The only real big place that uses CDMA bands is inside the USA, almost everywhere else is straight GSM. Funny how people buy US phones from overseas, and never once have complained that they don't work. But I'll definitely take your word for it.
But since you supposedly can make an AT&T phone work on Verizon, mind getting me a Galaxy Note that works on Verizon? Unless of course its not possible, which its not.
Hi guys new to the forums i did alot of searching and researching but just cant figure out a solution. I purchased this phone as a replacement to use in canada on the bell mobility network when i first recieved the phone i went to bell and tested with there sim card and the phone would not connect, so after being dissapointed i went home and downloaded and installed the Nexus Root Toolkit v1.6.1 and unlocked and rooted the phone hopping this was my solution after this i headed back to the bell store and tested again still no luck I am hopping someone has any ideas for me i really would like to get this phone working
thanks
From what I understand, Bell is a GSM network correct? Well, Verizon is a CDMA carrier. The SIM card in our i515 is only for LTE. That's it. It won't work on Bell, I'm pretty sure you need an unlocked GSM Nexus for that. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Bell Canada is not a CDMA carrier, you bought the wrong model, research first next time.
